focker1636
This will most likely be Marvin Lewis' first and final year in DC and he has a lot of work to do, unless he's planning to leave the Skins with a marginal D. Marvin has made a name for himself and has a good chance of grabbing a head coaching position, if one should open up in the offseason. He could end up in numerous places, such as Atlanta, Dallas, Seattle, Arizona, Detroit, and NY Jets.
Zen-like Todd
Because EVERYONE wants to hire a guy who has given up 30 points a game with players like Champ, Smoot, Lavar, Wilkinson, Trotter, and Armstead.
Redskins4Life
Allow me to cut a few teams off that list: He's not going to Dallas, Arizona, Detroit, or the Jets. So that pretty much leaves Seattle, and Atlanta. Have a nice day!
Golgo-13
Unless things turn around DRASTICALLY for ML this year, you can pretty much rest assured that you won't hear his name mentioned during the annual coaches carousel. If he keeps this nonsense up, he'll be lucky to keep his job here.

If he couldn't land a head coaching job before this year after the success he's had in the past, what makes you think someone would give him a head coaching job after the mess he's currently presiding over? If our D keeps playing like this we'll be HOPING another team hires them as their head coach. But my sincere hope is that he gets this sh*t turned around now. sindar
I think he's fine and he will be back next year regardless of the outcome of this season. It's his first season with us and I didn't expect miricles from him this year.If next years like this then get rid of him. indyskinsfan
well put Sindar. He and SS both know it's an uphill climb with some very good moments and there are just going to those nights and days the division opponent is going to rise to the occassion. Every year we hope we get that victory, but every year we get a heavy dose of reality. All division opponents play you like there's no tommorow. Those are the games that determine who gets the division title most of the time. Trying to shake loose two previous defensive coordinator's style is forgivable, but the players contributed to the mess more than anyone else. They know it and until they take care of the basics, they will look even sicker. I think Friday will be an important day for them before they head to Frisco. redman
From profootballtalk.com's Rumor Mill: POSTED 11:15 a.m. EDT, September 18,2002 (WEDNESDAY)NEWSOME TO THE FALCONS? Several reliable sources have told us this week that if the Atlanta Falcons continue their "close but no cigar" losing ways in 2002, owner Arthur Blank and his new right hand man Ray Anderson will look up to Crabtown for their next Director of Football Operations - in the form of Ravens Head Honcho Ozzie Newsome. Anderson is a big Newsome fan and is not currently enamored with consultant Bobby "What Do You Mean I Can't Surf In Atlanta?" Beathard. Thinking along these lines, our sources tell us a new coach for the Falcons in 2003 would probably be one of former Anderson clients Denny Green (we hear he is the first choice) or Marvin Lewis. As to Baltimore, long time Browns/Raven front office guy Phil Savage would probably be bumped up to run the club. For my money, he was always a one-year rental. That's unfortunate for continuity's sake, but the idea was that his unit would be a solid, experienced base for the team while the offense and Spurrier found their legs. Best laid plans . . .
