Mass_SkinsFan Posted March 22, 2006 Share Posted March 22, 2006 Why would this surprise anyone? The Colts needed a kicker badly and Vinatieri wasn't going back to New England. They'd put the "Franchise" tag on him the last two years so they didn't have to pay him what his actual value on the open market would be. They didn't franchise him this year, and he knew this would probably be his one opportunity to get the $$$$$$.
