If there has to be a cap, why does it have to be a hard cap?

If the Rich owners are to give to the poor owners then they should insist the cap not be hard cap as it has been.

I am now on the record of hoping the deal implodes later today and we head to a non-cap system. Can you imagine Synder getting us not only the best free agents but with the draft ending in 2008- getting the best rookie free agents. Wouldn't you love Reggie Bush on this team.

I would like to see something like basketball where you can have an one player on offense and one player on defense be exempt from the salary cap. Or have only a portion of salary count against the cap each year- on a sliding scale. Once that person's contract is up- you can use it on some other player.

I really don't think the best deal is being agreed upon. I hope the vote is no, later day.
