michael_33
I caught a little of the College pro scout combine drills with some WR's and TE's last night...It had Vernon Carey,Sinorice Moss,Chad Jackson and others... Is Chad Jackson a WR....If he is....He's huge....He's got Michael Pittman arms! He was kicking butt in those drills as well...He was catching those Mechanical Machine QB throws at around 60 MPH and such...And won the Matches...! So does anyone know what round he's projected to go? And what's his HT and WT? Is this guy worth considering at our spot in the second round if he's there? And could he be there? Thoughts? :applause:
jimster
he is WR. - I saw some of that as well. He won the obstacle course only because Sinorice Moss jumped at the end instead of running through. Jackson will be 1st rounder, and appears that he'll be a good pro. - Urban Myer was quoted saying he had the best work ethic of any player he ever coached. ...BTW, I would love if the 'Skins got Vernon Davis, but obviously unrealistic he'd fall to the 2nd. - Kiper says he likes him more than Winslow. inmate running the asylum
http://www.gatorzone.com/football/bios.php?year=2005⊂=team&bio=jackson_c.html I would be leery of Florida wide receivers. There are better ones out there. I like Greg Lee of Pittsburgh better. Lee averaged almost 20 yards per receptions for the last three years. http://pittsburghpanthers.collegesports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/lee_greg00.html
frommd
http://www.gatorzone.com/football/bios.php?year=2005⊂=team&bio=jackson_c.htmlI would be leery of Florida wide receivers. There are better ones out there, like Greg Lewis of Pittsburgh. I think the image of Florida receivers is changing a bit now that they aren't running the fun-n-gun. Jackson did look like a beast at this workout. I think he'll be long-gone by the time we pick. Every drill, the announcers were saying, "his stock just keeps going up." More Complete
He won't be around when we pick. We need to go after a solid free agent.
Ernie5
Jackson goes late 1st/early 2nd and, although I think he'd be a great fit, I don't think I'd try to trade up for him.
MoDaddy
Of all of the UF receivers over the last decade, he may turn out to be the most productive WR in the NFL. Still, won't be around by pick #53, and none of the receivers are worth a trade up to get. Are they ever?
Jimbo
After watching him catch all those 60 mph balls, including a one-hander, I'd say he's definitely a first round pick however, if he somehow slipped way down into the 2nd round........ AUviaDC101
Chad Jackson is perhaps the BEST steal of a WR in the Draft. If he is available (assuming we have either a HIGH 3rd round or Low 2nd round pick) when OUR pick(s) come around he will DEFINATELY be in a Skins Uniform. That will allow us to go for a cheaper FA wr... Gibbs For Life!!!
