freakinandpeakin
I geeked out a bit and looked at the winning percentage of each NFC team's opponents. For instance, the Redskins opponents are a combined 11-8 for a winning percentage of .579. Here is how they stand after week 5 (with teams record following percentage): 1) Minnesota .650 (1-3) 2) Chicago .647 (1-3) 3) Washington .579 (3-1) 4) Green Bay .565 (1-4) 5) San Francisco .560 (1-4) 6) Atlanta .500 (3-2) Arizona .500 (1-4) Seattle .500 (3-2) 9) Dallas .435 (3-2) New Orleans .435 (2-3) Philadelphia .435 (3-2) 12) St. Louis .416 (2-3) 13) Carolina .375 (3-2) 14) Detroit .368 (2-2) 15) NY Giants .350 (3-1) 16) Tampa Bay .348 (4-1)
Dah-Dee
Interesting stats -- so we're the only NFC team with a winning record whose opponents collectively also have a winning record? Cool! Hey, as long as you're geeking out, how about rustling up some stats on how Gregg Williams' defenses (Titans, Bills) have done against Dick Vermeil offenses (Rams, Chiefs)? Kosher Ham
This is something that I have thought about recently when people kept saying look at who the Redskins have played. Problem is the team the Redskins faced with the highest winning percentage beat the Redskins. The Broncos have faced the Dolphins in week 1 and lost Chargers who were 0-1 at the time with a loss to the Cowboys Chiefs who were 2-0 at the time Jaguars who were 2-1 at the time with their loss to Indy. Redskins who were 3-0 at the time. The Broncos won 3 straight games against teams with winning records. Point is, that there are two ways to look at it. Who were they when you played them or as you have done where those teams stand now.
