It can't be split even if the trade happens after June 1. The split can only occur if he is released after June 1. So if it is in the plans to get rid of Lavar there are two options... Trade him... doesn't matter when and take the 12M hit on the 2006 cap. or Release him after June 1st so we can split that hit over two years.
