Owens is teaming up with a radio station in Miami (790 The Ticket) and Miami Herald columnist Dan Le Batard to do a regular segment on Friday afternoons. Starting on Sept. 9, Le Batard, the host of the 4 p.m.-7 p.m. weekday show, will have Owens on for a 20-25 minute segment, beginning at 5 p.m. Why Miami? "He didn't want to do anything in Philadelphia," Le Batard said. "[Owens] and I have done some stuff together, and he is comfortable with that. He knows that I will be asking him the tough questions." Le Batard said that he and Owens also will take calls from listeners. Don't worry Eagles fans, you will get your shot. Le Batard's show is available on the Internet at www.790theticket.com. "Yes, we'll take calls from Philly," Le Batard said. "He is expecting that." According to 790 The Ticket spokesman Alan Brown, there have been two requests from the Philadelphia market to syndicate the program. Station manager Bob DeBlois confirmed that WPEN 950 AM, changing from oldies to a sports-talk radio format on Oct. 3, has called to inquire about regularly running the segment. The other is Comcast, according to Brown. "We know we have a lightning rod here," Brown said.
