Brave Posted August 23, 2001 Share Posted August 23, 2001 Man, I am addicted to that show! HBO is rocking these days ... best television available. For those who are unaware, Hard Knocks is a show following the Ravens (ugghh!) through training camp. It basically puts a camera everywhere and you get a good view of life, practice, the different approaches to camp of vets and rookies and it even meanders to the home life of several players, coaches and front office personnel. A very nice view of how an NFL team operates. Does anyone know if this show is scheduled to continue through the season or if it is just a preseason glimpse of the team? Nighthawk Posted August 23, 2001 Share Posted August 23, 2001 I consider myself a hardcore Redskins fans as well and don't care one iota about Baltimore but watching the show doesn't mean I support the Ravens, just good television. I watched the show for the first time last night and was suprised by how good it was. They do an excellent job. I especially liked how they're following the rookie FA's and what they have to go through to make the team as well as how the coaches go about teaching these players. I'll watch it again just to see the reactions to some of these players when they're cut or make the team. I just checked HBO.com and there are only 6 shows total and they just showed the 4th last night. The last show is September 5th. They're just like that as people, and it seems to me that the other players on the team aren't really receptive of them that much. The documentary on a filming level is indeed very good. Brave Posted August 23, 2001 Author Share Posted August 23, 2001 It's not that I forget it's the Ravens while watching, but more that you could plug any team into the show and it doesn't really matter. It's a superb look at the life and trials of training camp. To say you don't like the Ravens so you won't watch "Hard Knocks" is like saying you don't like mobsters so you won't watch the Sopranos. Dont deprive yourself of good television ... it's rare. I did find out the show ends with training camp, so there will only be 2 or 3 more.
