  1. Im on the side of if we can't get Caleb then let's trade back and acquire more picks and get a QB in the 2nd round for a battle with Howell. Im not in love with Maye and the more I watch Lamar the less Daniels looks like him lol. In a re-draft the No 1 overall pick QBs Goff and Baker would probably go 10-20 range imo which is evident how their original teams discarded them the first chance they got. At the same time they have turned out to be QBs you can win with if the rest of the team is sound top to bottom. I feel there is baby Mahomes (Caleb) then everyone else.
  2. Why wouldn't another 5th or 6th rounder most likely not be as good. Was our scouting dept so much better than everyone else that passed on Howell lol. Did he convincingly show that he deserved to be picked higher when he was given 17 games but they are most likely going to move on. A first or 2nd rounder with Howells stats would get another look or two day 3 picks dont get that luxury. Every nfl team did not screw up and pass over Howell lol Futher more im fairly certain we can find another back up in the 5 th or 6th that provides Howells skills and traits and stats and W/L for that matter. Yes it's team game but QBs ultimately get judged on wins and losses. Hence why Alex Smith stayed around for a long time with underwhelming stats
  3. First of all we already a laughing stock. Commanders in itself is a laughing stock and we obviously suck in recent memory. Is there a narrative that thinks just bc we may win a few more games that people all of a sudden will want to buy commanders gear bc i hope not. Someone said its 90 -10 old to new gear. They aren't making ANY money (outside of the nfl machine in the way the Arizona Cardinals are making money) off this brand after dropping 6B. Someone in sports business can correct me if i am wrong but a team relies or loves when their merchandise is sold or if they have a league wide marketable player. What I'm saying is even if they have a league wide marketable player people STILL wont buy the current gear. They'll pay more for someone to personalize a redskins jersey.
  4. I dont understand why we cant go back to the Washington football team until we have a new name. Those jerseys were similar to the originals and imo would sell better than the commanders gear especially with a shiny new QB. They are misguided if they think GM/HC change and a QB alone will have fans start buying this hideous merch tied to that hideous name and coming to that hideous stadium. They have such a bad combination of bad team name bad uniforms( moreso the Burgundy and Black jerseys) and bad stadium and its like they dont see in the interest in at least changing two of the three right now bc the stadium will obviously take some time.
  5. Im in the middle with the Williams debate because as much as I really like him the better prospect for us might actually be Daniels especially if we bring some Raven FO and coaches over like some rumors suggest. All the height talk is dumb imo bc just like the NBA certain players play above their height and some don't. Howell doesnt play above but Caleb does. Also hes a whopping one inch shorter than Patrick Mahomes go figure. So that needs to be put to bed. Ultimately it will come down to what the bears do and our FO preference for the scheme that you want to run. I do know I would hate seeing and go up against Caleb in a conference championship game needing to make a stop on 4th down in a goal to go situation.
  6. I believe Daniels fits our team better because IF we do pick him and then have to go OT later or in FA he gives us the best framework for an offense that can use designed runs with him moreso than Maye which will slow down the pass rush and even make the rush lanes for the RB even better. Designed running qbs clearly improve the overall run game and you don't hear them being sacked as much when they do pass. The issue has been can those same QBs drop back and pass from the pocket during a 2min drill to win the game and I believe Daniels is the best medium to deep thrower from the pocket in the draft.
  7. Howell playing well towards the end gives new FO options. Can trade down and take a qb in the 2nd or trade him outright for a mid round pick. Nothing bad could come of it. Either way they will bring in competition at QB most likely whether 1st or 2nd round
  8. Not dumb at all. Id say at the least hed be just as good and probably better as he is a better prospect than Fields coming out. Also hes on a rookie deal for 4-5 years while Fields is about to be a free after next year. Have to think smarter and big picture
  9. I think its more likle that Fields has solidified a 1st round pick in a trade for him. The bears can now get another first round pick and and then package up the others to get Caleb Williams and Harrison. Unbelievable.
  10. Its a whole bait and switch. I knew when they sent that press release from J Wright about having Howell to build around it was farce. You cant raise ticket prices and trot him out next year.
  11. Now we know EB is capable of running a offense with average talent (sarcasm) does he get a shot at HC? I think him changing the playcalling was a ploy to save his head coaching aspirations and career
  12. Called this way earlier. Saw we were getting down too quick to fast and the coaches will say couldnt evaluate the other players without the change lol smh
  13. Not blaming Howell its just the staff probably thinking the offense runs better with Brissett and can evaluate other guys better under that scenario
  14. This is not looking good for us. We are getting down by too much too quick that Brissett may come in and bring us back smh. We do need to score here and there to keep this thing somewhat close lol
  15. We need to wheel and deal players and picks to try to come away with a Qb and OT within the first 30 picks. Similarly how we operated the 2019 Draft hopefully with a better haul this time
  16. I feel because Snyder wanted to change the narrative from the spending free fall of the 2000 season that the last 10-15 years outside of trading up for Rg3 we've become the king of the bargain basement shoppers. We clearly went the extreme opposite in how we approach the draft and free agency and coaches. It's time to stop being 3rd class and start becoming first class. It can be flipped on a dime as Detroit, Rams, Miami and other teams that recently have shown the willingness to go after what they want HARD to WIN immediately. This doesn't even include Dallas and Philly who has mopped the floor with us in terms of acquiring personnel the last 30 years. With this owner ship change, new stadium on the horizon, AND with season tickets going up there needs to be excitement around the team starting off with GM, then coach, then QB. If we are going to pay a QB 40-70mill a year he better be a franchise top 5-7 QB caliber. The Purdys and Hurts are anomalies.
  17. The USC Qb being a bust is a thing BUT I feel Lincoln Riley trumps that when it comes to producing NFL qbs. They may not be super bowl winners as of yet but they do get picked high and tend to get a big second contract so I wouldnt call HIS qbs busts
  18. Like many here have said before I think the QB position will depend on where we are drafting. Top 4 you have to look hard at QB and Harrison. 5-9 area OT or Bowers if he checks out medically. I also think it will depend on who our HC and OC is. A more veteran coach will want a OT imo while a younger less experienced coach will try to get that QB to build throughout his tenure and give him that time for both to develop
  19. Didnt think this would be my first post but I LOLd to this. I can totally see him pulling out all the stops and putting in Brissett at half time to go for the win.
