That would be incredibly stupid and I say that as a big Howell fan and a huge fan of the trade back.

We have the #2 pick in a great QB draft. We hopefully won't be drafting this high for a long time.

If Howell is the goods and we draft Maye or whoever and they're great too, we have a Brees/Rivers situation and that's even better.

Just gotta trust they know what they're doing with whatever that happens.

No new regime is gonna bank on the previous regime’s late round project who’s rookie contract is already halfway up.

We gonna ignore Sirianni keeping Hurts? And don't bring up Hurts being a second-rounder like it makes a difference. Howell was a projected first-rounder the year before he got drafted. Crap is all subjective.

For the record, I'm not fighting for Howell to keep the job. I'm just saying he didn't all suck last season. If they feel like Howell can turn it around, I'm 100% up for it.

I've spent many years around Seattle and the puget sound region. The rain is real but still greatly exaggerated. It's a beautiful and fantastic city and great area. Home to many major corporations. Great parks for many miles around. Great arts and music scene. Great sports scene. It's a continuously prosperous and diverse state.

The whole of western Washington and northwest part of Oregon are fantastic places for scenery, great towns, fantastic coastline and all the outdoors activities you could ask for. The rain is a thing, but not anything close to a deal breaker for any reasonable human. The Summers are not two months long.

Also, there has been plenty of stupid in this thread of more types in the last 24 hours than in quite awhile. How about getting a grip?

No. The stupidity will continue until this chaos ends.

Because Quinn is a solid hire.

He's just not a sexy hire.

I hope he is, but every bit in me says not great. His HC record screams mediocre and is barely above .500 at 43-42 during his six seasons in Atlanta. He is a good coordinator. That's likely it.

Folks can get mad if they want, I believe this.

Maybe the rest of the NFL world will hold the way he went about this against him, Detroit won't.

Folks rooting for Lions demise is whack, they've been through enough, give them this FFS.

I like the Lions. I do not like Ben Johnson. Because of this and Harris/Peters not doing that great of a job with this search despite having a fairly long time to prep, we're going to end up with a head coach who lost in the Super Bowl in historic fashion.

  6. I get the feeling Johnson canceling while Washington reps were in flight to see him could screw him over for future opportunities. There's also a possibility Detroit comes back down to earth next season, which -- again -- could screw him. He should have taken one of the gigs because this chance isn't guaranteed in the future.

Cowboys Rumors: Ron Rivera Eyed for DC If Dan Quinn Takes Commanders or Seahawks HC

Could there possibly be anything more poetic than us getting Johnson and the cowboys replacing Quinn with Rivera?
