Kirk isn’t going to do them any favors and he never will. He has made that clear to every team in the league. They don’t owe him anything and they can’t give him more leverage by telling him their plans for his replacement. Over communication with him before he is signed only makes him more expensive.

This is what happens when you act like a mercenary for hire and show literally zero loyalty to anyone. He did it to himself.

Kirk is a genius for getting these contracts and making himself a very, very rich man. He’s a solid QB but he will never win you a Super Bowl which should always be the goal. I like Penix learning under Kirk I think that’s really smart considering Penix is injury prone. So I get what they are doing but I’m so happy we never fell for the Kirk Cousins monster contract.Other than rehiring Gibbs, this is the smartest move Dan Snyder made. Even he realized Kirk isn’t a big time baller.

    I honestly don't think we'll rebrand.

I know they say it's not a priority but my opinion is that's a line.

A brand is too important to let fester, if you're going to change it, it's imperative that you do it quickly so that the current brand doesn't continue to cement itself.

I honestly know nothing about branding, so this is an uneducated opinion but I pretty firmly believe it.

Man, Steve Wilks got fired in SF. Hold Mahomes to under 20 in Super Bowl regulation and lose your job. Tough industry.

Terrible decision, SF defense played lights out. Shanahan should fire himself. He's the problem. He's the one who has now massively choked in 3 Super Bowls.

I was going to post this, but it was going to be a joke.  I think this is as likely as Dwayne Haskins being the starter in Pittsburgh.

Honestly, they would be better off going with Lance and trying to groom a new rookie, not spending wasted money on Dak. If I were a GM or Team Owner I would never give a guy who clearly can't win a Super Bowl a huge contract. Dak has been built up to be this superstar QB but that's only because he plays for Dallas. Dak is not a big time baller, just as Kirk Cousins is not. And neither of those guys are even "build a great team around them guys" like Brad Johnson and Joe Flacco. It's so clear to see, I can't believe they can't see it. Delusional.

Should have never came back and teamed with Snyder.

Why? That was the best team we had under Snyder. I loved when he came back, the best thing Snyder ever did. However, Gibbs shouldn't have signed Mark Brunell, he should have signed Kurt Warner, who was available. He definitely would have won a Super Bowl with Warner because Warner reminded me of a more talented Mark Rypien.

I would put him on Mount Rushmore though, winning with 3 different QB's and that 91 team was won of the best teams ever assembled. He hasn't coached for awhile and was a very soft spoken, very down to Earth guy so it may be hard for people to remember how great he truly was. In his prime, I would take him over Bellichick or Reid, neither of whom would have won Super Bowls without their Supermen QB's.

Wilson, Mayfield, and Love are the only ones on that list that can win a Super Bowl (assuming they have an awesome supporting cast around them). Love will definitely win at least one, Packers looked awesome this year. Cowboys should not do a new deal for Dak, they should move on from him because he's never going to win them, or anyone else, a Super Bowl. Huge mistake to give that guy another huge contract, would get a new QB if I were them. But if they do keep him, that'll be great for us!

As for Washington, pick the QB that's gonna play the most like Patrick Mahomes.

Just go back to the Gibbs 1.0-era uniforms.

Yes, those uniforms spell excellence to me and there is no reason to create something new when we already have those beautiful uniforms. The uniforms never should have changed, just the team name and logo swapped out for something much cooler than the God awful Commanders. Just absolutely terrible, what the hell is a Commander anyway? Reminds me of John Candy getting off the bus saluting John Laroquette in Stripes and saying in the most disrespectful way possible. "How's it going Commander." They must go.

Yes I can find a million pics too. What is the point?

He has gained weight since then, there are videos of him being weighed at LSU.

I am fine debating actual play but this kind of stuff is insanely juvenile and silly.

If he's gonna run around all crazy like RG3, definitely don't want him. But if they are going to create a pocket heavy offense for him and protect him so he only needs to run when it's completely safe, I'd be very happy with that. Definitely start Howell next season until the OL is steady enough for whatever rookie you get, whether if be Daniels or Maye.

It's an operative point for those that prefer to spend money on a veteran.  it's actually easier to build around a rookie cheap QB.

If we for example sign Kirk for 40 million or pay Justin or whateever, that cap space is going fast.

I can't believe that Kirk Cousins is still going to get 40 million. Not only can he not win the big pressure games, he can't even get anywhere close to the playoffs. And on top of that, he's a bit of a weirdo. Anyone who gives this guy a huge contract after the huge injury at his age is just asking to be fired. It's actually one of the best moves Snyder made not paying this guy. Now if you could get him at 10 mill per year on a 2 year contract to groom the new rookie or be a backup, I'd be down, but please don't let this guy keep getting these huge paychecks.

That would be incredibly stupid and I say that as a big Howell fan and a huge fan of the trade back.

We have the #2 pick in a great QB draft. We hopefully won't be drafting this high for a long time.

If Howell is the goods and we draft Maye or whoever and they're great too, we have a Brees/Rivers situation and that's even better.

Whoever the new rookie QB is, it's probably important to have Howell start at least the first 4 games so that they can make sure the OL is solid enough to protect the youngster. There's no rush so might as well not throw something into the fire until it's seasoned enough to be cooked.

Got to get the right OC for Maye or Daniels. I can see Quinn as the motivator type, but I guess he forgot to motivate that defense when the Pack came to Dallas.

Oh Dallas always blows it. Carolina could of come in there and beat them. It's the curse of Jerry Jones firing Jimmy Johnson and won't end until Jerry is not in charge anymore.

So are we waiting until after the Super Bowl to hire Kyle Shannon as our offensive coordinator?

The only thing I can remember about the Atlanta Super Bowl loss was how Brady started to look unstoppable. But who's fault among the Atlanta coaches was it? Kyle or Quinn's? I remember thinking all they needed to do was just get a field goal and it's over. Seems like it would be more on Kyle then since holding Brady to 3 points for most of the game is huge and eventually he'll get on fire.

I'm okay with this. Quinn wasn't my top choice, but he's a solid hire.

Now- go sign Cousins in free agency and bring him home to finish his career, take Harrison Jr. at #2 in the draft, bring in the young Kubiak from the Shanahan tree to run the offense, let Howell develop behind Cousins for the next three years and let our new GM- who is known as a top notch talent evaluator- fill in all the other needs on OL and defense through the draft and free agency. And as per Jumbo's request, the Mighty Quinn will take care of the defense.

We'll put up 35 a game and as long as the D can hold opponents to less than that- we're instant contenders in the division, if not the entire NFC. LET"S GO!!!!

No on Cousins! The man is a weirdo perfectionist who plans his day in 15 minute increments. And he just had a major injury. I appreciate his regular season games and that he's made himself into a mega millionaire without winning any big games ever. He's not a big game QB, he's a major choker, probably because he's so uptight. I'd rather have Russell Wilson / Brissett as a stop gap as the rookie OB grows and the OL solidifies. Or run it back with Howell and see what he does with a competent staff.

I kind of like this hire. To many of ya are focusing on the last game and not seeing the defense he ran as a whole. I can cherry pick any of your top candidates and be like see that one time they didn't score or that one time their defense got scored on.

What I want to see is how he uses Jamin Davis and Forbes. I always wants to see Davis in an attacking position similar to how Micah Parsons was used.

I think it's a great hire because of his recent knowledge of all the NFC East teams and the success he's had with the Cowboys defense. We get an immediate divisional edge in that department. Now with that said, he must, MUST find the most innovative and creative OC that is out there to complement his defensive prowess. Rivera failed miserably in this area, I"m expecting much better hires this time. It's all going to hinge on getting that wiz kid OC and nailing it on the starting QB, whether it's a rookie, a veteran, or even Howell as a stop gap.

I’m gonna be honest but BB probably the best choice .

    - Defense in NE been solid for a long while

    - He does not want power anymore for any GM moves .

    - Josh Mcdaniels likely comes and he’s an upgrade over Eric B

This would be like the Doc Rivers move for Harris. And down the line we can find someone better but right now this is probably the best move . Wouldn’t be surprised if they interview him at least, I can’t see them just settling just yet .

At this point other than Weaver all the other candidates are over 50.

I'd be down for this except can we get someone other than Josh McDaniels for OC. Not really impressed with him at all and I think it would be good for BB to find another genius to work with.

How did that work out for Quinn after Kyle left?

He went 10-6 in 2017, Kyle went 6-10. He went 7-9 in 2018, Kyle went 4-12.

Then Matt Ryan fell off a cliff and Quinn's team imploded. Kyle, having a much better front office then bounced back from 4-12 and went on to the success he's had today.

Kyle is a great coach but he's a bit of a choker in my opinion. I'd be very surprised if San Fran beats the Chiefs. My guess is the Chiefs win big.

Peters, Harris, Magic and the rest of the hiring committee believe he would be because they offered him the job and not the others. Maybe they need a closer like a young Dan Snyder to negotiate for them.

Where is that mastermind? And how long do you think a McVay type would last as OC given the trend to younger coaches?

Where the mastermind is above my pay grade but one has to be out there. They are always out there. Just do your homework, ace the exam, and find the best OC for the QB you're planning to pick.

And our new OC being offered coaching jobs would be amazing because most likely, we have gone deep into the playoffs that year. If the new OC gets hired after building up a fantastic offense, find his carbon copy or promote one of his disciples. It's a good problem to have, a very good problem.

I guess I will end up the only one satisfied if Quinn is the hire? We have first rounders all over this defense. I would be happy to see what they can actually look like with a good coach for once. The offensive side would concern me. But our defense could be really fun to watch for once.

I would be more than satisfied as long as we pair him with a young OC mastermind that can build and run an innovative offense. I like that Quinn has been in Dallas the last few years so he's going to have an edge on division opponents, where we went 0 and 6 last year. Winning the division is the first step towards reestablishing ourselves so he would give us an edge there that the other coaches wouldn't have. He nearly won a Super Bowl 5 years ago if not for Tom Brady literally becoming Superman. So the guy does have IT.

He's relatively still young so he would stay here forever if perennially successful. He could build us a tough smash mouth team. But we must find the next Sean McVay OC genius boy to pair him with. I'm sure they are out there, you just have to find the next diamond in the rough. It's what these guys are paid to do.

If anything just seeing Brady run from the tunnel to the opposite side of the field every game yelling “LETS GO” would be worth it to me all the while wearing coaches gear

In total seriousness, Brady would make a fantastic coach. I have no doubt about that. The man is a winner at anything he puts his mind to.
