If we are interested in Mitch then the bills have to have approved him for RR..

for me if it’s a 6th or 7th or a qb swap etc then fine with it as nothing to loose as the current QBs don’t have it….

That would also suggest Fitz is done !!!

Agree, we're at the point where we don't really have much to lose. I'd personally rather give Mariota a chance over Trubisky but either would be fine. Definitely have potential for a band-aid as we rebuild the next 3-4 years. And at any time we have a better option at a qb either in draft or big trade we can still always do that. Low risk move.

I mentioned this earlier as well.  It seems that once the play is past him, he’s done trying.  Not just once or twice where he may have been gassed or whatever, but this has been a regular occurrence this season.

He’s wearing a C on his chest.  If we are seeing this in live action and in cut-ups on Twitter, you know it’s seen in the position rooms on film.

I'm glad I'm not seeing things. I've noticed it all season too. There are plays like right next to him where a rb is fighting for extra yards or a scrum is forming and he'll just watch it or jog to it. It's just strange to me. It almost like he's saving up all his energy for his speed rush to get sacks and hustling will just tire him out. If I recall correctly I think 3 of his 4 tackles yesterday were when the running back just ran right in to him at the line of scrimmage.

  3. Realistically they won't trade Chase, he's like the face of the franchise right now and it would look terrible for them to trade a #2 pick for some 2nd round pick. Not saying I wouldn't trade him, but I doubt it's even being considered. He just stops and watches so many plays, I have no clue why he's doing that this year. He at least hustled last year.

similar thing happened with Joe Burrow…

Only difference is burrow only started two seasons and was decent one year and greatest season ever the next. Pickett is now a full on 4 year starter and was absolutely mediocre to below mediocre his first 35 games. About to throw 600 yards today, ha

You guys are a classy franchise IMO. You guys won almost as many Superbowls as us. You guys got good fans. If Rodgers goes there I hope he turns you guys into a Super Bowl team.

    It is for sure.

You’ve got to be mocking us

  6. We had our chance. Had a #2 pick in the draft. Instead of making a move for a franchise qb we didn't. Then we got better and missed out on other qbs. I'm anti-tanking for sure, building a winning culture is more important than tanking to me, but when you're actually so bad that you get a top two pick you better make it count. Ron won't let us be that bad again. So we're going to have pray a patrick mahomes lands in that 7-12 range either this year or next. Which is doubtful. I honestly would take a risk in the meantime, like give Marcus Mariota a shot.

    Hard to argue with it.

Chase was great last year...this year, at the very least, he's regressed.

Lmao when you left he was crowned Defensive Rookie of the Year and a Pro Bowler.

I left weeks before that. Had nothing to do with Chase, lol. You guys crack me up that you even remember.

    Nick Bosa rookie year

    80 pressures

    Chase Young rookie year

    39 pressures

Wasn’t even close. It was all hype. Very little production to warrant a pro bowl spot. DPOY was just lack of competition. Like who else was there?

And your predictability of sticking by an opinion when you believe it's correct and then running like a coward for a year when you believe is incorrect is pathetic.

Calling people cowards is a little harsh but I understand you’re a little upset, lol. When I left he was still mediocre. Not sure what revisionist history you got going on. Keep the insults coming though.

The entire front 4 played the way they were supposed to. Crapping on them this week is just dumb and for some reason it seems as if it makes you feel better thinking you’re right.

Our expectations of a top 2 pick are just different. Have been the entire time. Your loyalty to mediocrity is admirable though.

Sure, from a theoretical or motivational quote perspective. But with potentially years of making at minimum a million dollars in each on the line, the thought of preservation is going to be there as well. Especially if you're a guy who's had injury issues in the past.

As it is now, unless he really plays horribly down the stretch, Heinicke is at least an ok backup for most teams if he can stay healthy. If he gets injured he's probably immediately off of the radar.

I think Heinicke does want to play well and he is a gamer, but remember he's also an engineering/math guy, so there's likely to be some logical calculation that goes into it as well.

I don't believe a single thing you're saying is actually going on but if he is, I wouldn't want him as my qb. This whole notion that he isn't playing his hardest because he might get hurt is ridiculous.

  11. The QB market is rough right now. Pretty much Minshew, Tua, or Jimmy G are the best options. Even the young backups you can pray to develop aren't there. Maybe Drew Lock? Yikes... luckily we have so much wrong with us we don't need to rush on getting a qb right now. Sticking with Heinicke (sp?), giving Kyle Allen a chance, or waiting for Fitz might be our best option. The draft is looking rough for qbs this year though. It's really disappointing our defense has crumbled like it has, would have been nice to be able to build around last years defense. Now we're in a tough spot.

  12. Not a huge fan of Tua but I’d become one if we got him. Would be more excited for him more than any qb we’ve had since rg3.

If not I’m fine just rolling out some mediocre dudes until we have the right opportunity. There is just no reason to rush with how much we need. But if we could get Corral, which is doubtful, or pick up someone like Tua I’m down.

  13. I wouldn’t be surprised by this. If the WFT defense doesn’t come out swinging and have some pride I’ll be upset but I fully expect them to play their best game of the season this Sunday while for the packers this is a very low intensity game for them. Possible, but arod is kind of good.

I don’t see what’s hard to believe about it.  Imagine if you had the chance to change your life from a financial perspective.  Being an everyday Joe with a regular job or a chance at sticking on an NFL roster making NFL money and never having to do everyday Joe jobs again.  You’ve went from sleeping on your sisters couch to being 1 of 32 dudes in the world to start on Sundays.

Even if he’s not consciously preserving himself, I’m sure the subconscious takes over.

Whatever it is, I hope he’s learned over the past few weeks that fame is fleeting and the only way to stick around is going to be by moving the sticks with his legs.

It's usually the opposite of this. When you get your one chance you go all out without fear of anything. Playing timid is the last thing you should do with your one chance. But I don't think that's what he's doing to be honest. I think he's just trying to prove he's a legitimate passer.

In terms of Chase Young vs. Justin Herbert----with hindsight Herbert is the pick.  He looks like a solid franchise QB.

But there were a lot of questions marks after a mildly disappointing 2019 college season.  The majority opinion was that Tua was the better prospect.  Meanwhile Chase was viewed as a once in every 10 years type pass rusher.

I think we made the right pick at the time with the information we had.  However, I agree with hindsight you take Herbert.   In fact if all teams including the Bengals had hindsight, I find it hard to imagine Herbert doesn't go 1, so that would leave us with Burrow (still a solid get--a franchise QB).   The Lions at 3 would get Chase Young in the redraft and Giants at 4 would get Tristan Wirf

Joe Burrow is a flat out stud. I'm probably in the minority now but I'd still take him over Herbert to be honest. And yea, I don't think Chase is a top 10 pick with the information we know now. Maybe somebody thinks he can develop in to it.

my theory on fandom:  you follow a team you’re born into.  (Me)

you’re a latent fan that decides to follow the league and cheer for a successful team.

those are really the only true fans in my book.
If you find yourself team changing…you’re a fan of something other than the team

Truth. Was born in to it also. Had no choice, like a religion. My dads a Native American from the east coast and was a die hard Redskins fan and although he lived through the good years and thought he was handing off greatness to me, I was born in to this suffering. Well technically I was a kid in 91 but barely remember any of it. My first memories were of Gus and Michael Westbrook. Just pure pain. But can’t give up now.
