24% pressure to sack ratio is unplayable in the NFL, would absolutely have to be mitigated. If he can maintain a higher playing weight, he'll be able to brush off more sack attempts as well.

I read that that stat doesn't include scrambles.  If that is true, it is a useless stat.  If the QB scrambles away from pressure and makes a positive play, it doesn't count?  LOL.  Who comes up with stats like this?

This would be a great draft.  My only differences would be the first two.  I'd be happy with Maye, but my slight preference would be Daniels.  I like McConkey, but I think the team really needs an X receiver, so my slight preference there would be Mitchell, Legette, or Franklin.

we do trade off #2 my bet would be on #3 with NE. If they really like Daniels, and we know that, and we prefer Maye or McCarthy, it would make sense to move back and add picks and take our guy at #3.

I don't see any chance of this.  First, NE and WASH certainly won't honestly share with each other what player they really want to take.  Even if for some strange reason they were to do that, WASH wouldn't trade back if NE wants the same player they do and NE wouldn't trade up if they want a different player than they do.  There just isn't a realistic case for both teams agreeing to such a trade.

#2 and #100 could get you #3 and #34 in return.

However, yes, under no circumstances do you trade back if you want the same guy as NE for example. You just make the pick.

I don't get your logic here.  It is very doubtful that NE and WAS will honestly let each other know who they want, and if for some weird reason they actually did, NE would have no reason to trade if the two teams wanted two different guys.  The only conceivable reason for WAS to do this would be if they rated the two players exactly equally, which, of course, they won't.

  5. I think we might want to change our thinking as far as BPA vs. positional need goes.  RR isn't running our draft room any more.  I don't think our brain trust will be focusing on a certain position in each round.  There will be times, of course, that BPA on our board matches up well with apparent positional needs, but I really don't think GMAP has a preset notion of what position will be taken at #40, for example, IMO.

That's a big jump for Rosengarten.  I like him too, but he was getting projected in the mid to late rounds just a short bit ago.  To go 31, whooof, that's a beeeeeeg jump.  I don't know if I'd endorse that.  Then again I think Kiper had Latham going #5 in one of his mocks over Alt, so he gets weird ideas sometimes.

Theres a quote from the 1995 movie “The American President” where one of Sydney Wade’s (Presidents girlfriend) friend tells her something like, “He’s attractive, the leader of the free world and an above average dancer.  Maybe we’re setting our standards a bit high?”

That quote has been rattling around in my head every time somebody says “Maybe they don’t like Williams/Maye/Daniels”

** I couldn’t find the exact quote because when you search for “the American president anything” you get mired in a whole lot of political crap about actual presidents. So that’s a guess on the quote based on my memory from seeing the movie 25 years ago.  Apologies if it’s not word for word.

I don't get the people who think this move means we're trading up.  I don't see how the two are connected at all.

At the VERY VERY least, a trade up from #2 to #1 is going to take a 2024 2nd and 3rd and a 2025 first.  There is no question the 2025 first is a bare minimum.  And the reason why is somebody who doesn't have the #2 pick would offer it to move from 3+ to get to #1.

This trade doesn't change any of that. The Bears are not going to move back because we trade them a 2 and two 3's.

Yeah, I agree moving up from a 4 to a 3 doesn't signal a trade up from #2 to #1 in any way.  Heck, I don't see the logic in trading up to #1 in any case.  If the Bears like Williams at #1, they aren't trading him to us, period.  If they like Maye or Daniels at #1, they would never trade down to any team but us and risk losing out, so we would have no reason to move up, since Williams would fall to us if they took Maye or Daniels.  The only reason they would ever trade down beyond us is if they've decided to not go with a QB.  Seems unlikely, but even in that case, they would be far more likely to talk trade with NE or ARIZ or maybe LAC than us, as they'd likely get more back in trade from one of those teams.  Just don't see any case where a trade would make sense for both CHI and WAS.  Decide on the 2 QBs that top your draft board and take the top one that fall to you.

I love me some ketchup. I even put it on eggs. Even though some people say that that is gross. I make scrambled egg sandwiches with toast. And put ketchup and pepper on it. Yummmm.
