    It's shaped up allright.

What shape it is, is yet to be seen.

    What we have is...

    3 Rookies, including one UDFA.

a 4th is a virtual rookie in Robert Davis, who has never played in an NFL (regular) game.

a 5th one is a 2nd year player who is almost a rookie, considering he was hurt most of his rookie year.

And PRich, officially our "wiley ol veteran" of the bunch, who only played in 7 games last year.

So to summarize the most outstanding aspect : None of our receivers played more than 7 games last season.

    Super Bowl?

Fred smoot said Mclaurin had a pretty bad bruised tailbone 3 weeks ago or something and that is why he has had limited real action. It took me a month to feel better when I bruised mine, I could imagine it sucks to play WR in the NFL with one

Well maybe that is the issue. If so that sucks because that will probably slow his development.

It's weird. Trey Quinn caught almost 40 more balls in his senior season than McLaurin caught in his collegiate career. And it's not like Ohio State didn't throw the ball. McLaurin averaged less than 3 catches per game in college in his best season, maxing out at 35 catches total. He's fast. He's a good guy. He certainly tries hard. But is he actually a good football player? I guess it remains to be seen, but he wasn't a big time receiver in college. Someone threw out a comparison to Darrius Heyward-Bey, which doesn't sound that far-fetched. And Heyward-Bey had a fairly long NFL career, just not one as a bona fide starting WR. So yes. It is weird to ask a guy like that to start as a rookie.

Yeah that's just it. He really didn't have impressive numbers in college. So I don't know what to think about him. There is also a good chance he could be a starter if Docston is cut tomorrow.

So I feel like Terry Mclauin is being treated like Julio Jones by the Skins. He didn't play in the last game and he didn't catch one ball in preseason. Am I missing something here? Did he impress everyone that much in practice? It sounds like he's a sure thing as in a starter for the Skins if Doctson is cut. It's just weird to me, or is he just hurt?

Crazy how we are relying on guys who didn’t even play much. McLaren, Richardson and Quinn had little run.

It feel like they're protecting Mclaurin. As for the other 2, they scare the hell out of me. Both Richardson and Quinn can't stay healthy. Both talented, but so is Jordan Reed. I wonder why the Skins are one of the most injured teams in the NFL. Reed, Richardson, Quinn and Thompson can't stay healthy. I don't expect this year to be much different. We should probably keep 11 WRs to be honest.

That's close to what will probably happen, but Doctson is going to make the team and Harmon is probably going to get cut unfortunately.  It's going to kill me if that happens.  I'd rather have Harmon than either Doctson or Richardson.

Doubt they cut a rookie. I know he's a 6th rd pick, but I'd be surprised.

None of the other guys have done anything in the NFL. Except Doctson and Richardson. And everyone wants to run Doctson out of town. Fans are fickle. They don't want the guy who has actually accomplished something, even if that something is underwhelming. But the young guy that was supposedly a lock all pre-season is gone after a couple of drops in a meaningless game? No one can win

Quinn is our slot guy. Mclaurin and Harmon were both drafted in this draft. I doubt either of those guys get cut, because they were drafted this year. Richardson has been paid and won't get cut. Right there is 4 guys and we will keep 6 at most according to Jay. So the question is who has looked better both in preseason and training camp. Im going to have to say Davis has. So one more spot maybe. So do you think the Skins give that spot to a guy that won't be here next year? They also have been trying to trade him and no one wants him. So what's that tell you? It's not just some of the fans that don't see the need for him anymore, It's the organization. The odds are the Doctson gets  cut.

  6. Paul Richardson

    Terry Mclaurin

    Trey Quinn

    Kelvin Harmon

    Probably locks

So we will keep 1 or 2 more guys.

It might sound crazy, but the only plausible explanation is we might be "protecting" him.

That's what it feels like, but you would think the kid needs game experience. Not sure why he played so little in preseason with that being said.

Months of rankings undone by one pre-season game?

What has this guy done again in the NFL? Those preseason games are important and he laid a egg tonight.

Harmon has one catch for -2 yards. McLaurin I don't believe played

    Whats up with Mclaurin?

DId we just see Steve Sims vault Cam Sims on the depth chart?  I think he may have.

I loved seeing Haskins playing catch on the sideline with Cam after his 2 drops.

I think we did. Cam Sims picked the worst night to choke.

I've said it a hundred times here on ES, whether it was about Skins players, Wizards players, Nationals, etc...

If you're special, it shows right away or at least pretty darn early in development. I know there are exceptions to every rule or situation but overall I have been proven right through the years. Docston just hasn't shown us anything.

Agreed and I hope his spot is taken by someone with upside.  I personally hope he is cut. He won't be here next year anyway and no one else wants to trade us anything for him. He's a bust

Robert Davis has had both a good camp and a good 2 Preseason games.

Okay everyone but Davis. He has been good, but that's it.

    My ideal scenario :

    Trade Doctson

    Keep on the 53 :

    McClaurin

    Quinn

    Richardson

    C Sims

    Davis

    Harmon

Place on the PS (any 1 or 2 of these, obviously not all 3) :

    S Sims

    Kidsy

    Chesson ?

What are we trading Doctson for a bag of chips?
