Interesting take. I found it very well balanced even tying in a future event. Remember in 1862 through reconstruction it was an asymmetrical and protracted conflict. I must disagree with a foreign assessment of this film.

The Truth. Robert Redford, Cate Blanchett, Topher Grace (who the heck gets a name like that? Reminds me my great great uncle in NC named Cicero Outlaw Roberson), Dennis Quaid, and assorted otbers. 3:10 to Yuma. Decent western. Good job by Russell Crowe. Christian Bale rubs me the wrong way. He just comes across as 100% jerk which is something most all his co-stars say about him anyway. Good lazy afternoon romp in the saddle. Id give it a 6 / 10 C+. Predictable and contrived. No super hot T&A to admire. Heart of the Sea. Inreresting take on the Moby Dick story. Slow and weak IMHO. If you want to visit the Age of Sail, Master and Commander is a much better film, or take a gander at Starz' Black Sails. 6 / 10. C Better yet fire up PS4 and hit the rolling main in AC Black Flag.

O... and Grandma was superb. A- / 8.5 of 10 The Revenant premiers tonight at 8 EDT HBO. If you haven't seen it, dig western period films, and have an iron stomach.... highly recommended 9.5 / 10. A

The 5th Wave.... where to start.... it is full of suck. Really bad. Teenage chick hot, Liev Schreiber surprised hed take that role. Just a terrible film all the way around. It made Jupiter Ascending look like Oscar material. D-, 2/10. I gotta unsully myself with some Star Trek or something...... good lord that was bad. I feel better... Starz is showing Force Awakens right now.... sweet vindication. Id rather watch Avatar for 24 hours than that piece of hot garbage again.

Cant believe i completely missed Wolf of Wall Street. Very good but quite disturbing. O and i will give Free State of Jones an 8/10 and if you dig westerns. Forsaken is 9/10 Bone Tomahawk gets a 6 from me but hateful8 gets an 8

Forsaken Kiefer and Donald Sutherland. Western set in 1872 Wyoming. Very entertaining. Demi Moore is looking her age though. Its a film that will have you cheering by end credits.
