I see a LOT of this, and I don't know if it's a defense mechanism to being burned again, or if there are people out there who eventually replaced being a fan of the team with being a dysfunction enthusiast, because it's irrational.  Nothing is guaranteed in the NFL, but getting it right eventually looks like what we are doing now at the beginning stages.  And if we don't get it right this time, we can blow it up and start over and nothing about this attempt will poison the next.  That's what is different now, and it is not a figment of anyone's imagination.

I chalk a lot of this up to battered fan syndrome, PTSD, and in some cases - folks that simply don’t know any better.

What we are experiencing is nothing remotely like what we’ve experienced in the past under Dan.  Not even close.

I'm still confused.  People are referencing Quinn, what he did in Dallas and how his defense could do that again in Washington. Only he is not the Defensive Coordinator he is the Head Coach and with that comes a lot of responsibility outside of the defense. He is not sitting in a room game planning or is he?   Are we even going to run his defense?

I don’t expect him to trot out the exact same defense he had in Dallas, but he did bring Whitt with him because they share the same vision for what defense looks like.  Beyond that, they’ve added talent.  There are things to be skeptical about with the 2024 team, but defense shouldn’t be one of them.  It’s hard to go anywhere but up from where they were.  I mean the hallmark of JDR’s defense was guys running around confused.  I highly doubt you will see that this season.

  3. Something to add on Kingsbury, I’ve read numerous reports that indicate Murray as a problem child.  Only made worse by Kingsbury because he was too busy to face it head on, and likely just not in his DNA to be a hardass to a big ego like Murray.

From all I’ve read and heard regarding Jaylen, both in college and his few days as a pro - ego and entitlement will not be an issue that Kliff needs to manage.

He may never pan out as a play caller, but if he was ever going to- this is the perfect spot for him to do it.

I agree that he’s had time to reflect, but it’s like a lot of people like the hire because they think he runs a “cool and progressive” offense.

I watched Zona play plenty. Murray always arguing with Kliff for not getting the plays in on time. False starts everywhere. Missed assignments. Andre Hopkins running nothing but five yard outs for an entire game. It was miserable.

I’m not gonna post anymore on the topic. I want him to succeed as much as anyone. I just don’t understand why there isn’t more skepticism here in regards to his abilities.

I think it’s largely benefit of doubt given it wasn’t all bad for him, Kyler being a PITA, and him no longer having to wear all the hats.  Add to that a solid offensive staff below him, and better leadership above him.  In theory, he should fare better here in this role.

While I understand what you are saying, the goal is always to win. Why play if not to win. Having said that I agree they will not just throw him to the wolves and say sink or swim.

Maybe the way I would put it is while they are always trying to win, they also have the longer term visions for the team and how to develop Jayden. If they have to sacrifice a few wins this season for the greater good then so be it.

Of course Quinn isn’t going to have a slide up come first day of camp indicating it’s okay to lose.

But I believe he’s smart enough to know what he has right now and that the promise land is located a ways down the road.  I think the complete overhaul of the defense has as much to do with the lack of talent he inherited as it does the fact that it can be a young QB’s best friend.

  6. I don’t think the goal this season is to win.  The goal is to compete, while developing Jayden.  Not a chance in the world they trot out anything remotely similar to what EB did to Howell last season.  I expect a much improved defense that in turn will allow the offense to play more small ball and give Jayden the opportunity to learn on the job without feeling the pressure of having to carry the team.

I recall Tanya saying as recent as that infamous Schefter interview that she's more or less the people person and Dan is the football X's amd O's savant in the family. :ols:

I know a few folks will chalk this up as not letting it go, but I don’t care - it’s important to remember where we were a very short time ago.

This interview you speak of was a new low for a franchise known for new lows.  Whats wild is that I think she actually believed it.  Beyond that, there was the whole “woe is us” narrative.  Those were some very dark days and they weren’t long ago.

Which is again why I say this is all fairy-tale like.  For those of us still here, it’s time to be fans again as opposed to the hate-watching, negative, pessimistic ‘fans’ we rightfully were for so long.   At least that’s what I’m trying to do.

And we got some stragglers left who accede Dan was an issue but aren't sure if we are out of the woods as to the Washington Redskins-Football Team-Commanders losing ways like we got some fixed voodo on the team.  IMO and most the bad voodo was All Dan.

I attribute this to battered fan syndrome and the fact that the easiest bet in the NFL is to bet against an organization that’s unproven at QB.  It’s easy to bet against prosperity for teams that don’t have a Mahomes.

To think that in such a short period of time we went from coping with our circumstances for the rest of our lives to where we are today. Being major players for FO talent, sealing the deal and bringing them in, with a ton of cap space and a Heisman winning rookie QB.  It’s fairy tale like.  If you can’t enjoy this, you can’t enjoy anything.

  9. The City of Louisville is trying to do what they can to fix this.  Imagine being the mayor or whatever and waking up to this. 😂

  10. So you are telling me a cop was way extra, flexing overly aggressive and double down on stupid by arresting the most aww shucks guy in sports?  Not shocked. 🐽

The male sports bra is my least favorite trend in athliesure fashion.  Now Forbes is wearing one outside of a shirt?  Wtf

Beside that, wearing a strand of pearls barely stands out.

The day I saw Chase Young wearing one of these is the day that I knew it was over for him.  Hopefully Forbes can break the bra curse.

  12. I preferred Maye to Daniels pre-draft.  I won’t be crushed if he ends up playing well, as long as JD is better.  But yeah - I have no love for New England and they don’t deserve another great QB, so I’d prefer he sucks.  🤣

I get where you're coming from, but it's much to early to be certain that this is "an organization worth rooting for". Compared to the previous owner/front office, sure....but after so many seasons of ****.... I'll believe it when I see it.

Drafting a Slenderman running QB with the 2nd overall pick is about the worst thing that a new Front office could do, in my opinion.

The fluff about his work ethic and loving football is the same exact **** that the media spewed about bobart 3.

The OL is still pretty ****, and the defense is gutted.

I don't think the roster is league worst, but it's gotta be bottom third. Definitely a couple of seasons away from being competitive, thanks to Ron.

May as well hope for the best, but this feels real familiar. I really wish they'd kept Howell. Marcus Mariota is gonna be really dull to watch after Jayden has his leg broken in week 4.

I'm envious of your optimism. Truly hope that it pays off.

At the end of the day, all you can ask for is that things be done the right way.  We have good people in places at all levels.  Betting on failure in the NFL is easy, even talented GM’s and players that do things the right way fall short. This is a rebuild in every sense of the word.  It’s not going to happen overnight.  Maybe it never happens.  But coming from where we’ve come from, I’d suggest everyone embrace the changes and go back to being fans again.

We all want him to succeed. That is why we want to make sure if he doesn't already know how to take care of his body, this coaching staff takes seriously the need to do so in this offseason so that he can be as successful (and healthy) as he can be.

I had my reservations prior to drafting him as did a lot of us here.  My only point is no matter what those might be, I’m going to try and not obsess over it and enjoy the ride.

  15. Everyone can have their skepticism and paranoia related to his physique and let that dictate their fandom if they want to.

Personally, it been too long since we’ve truly had an organization worth rooting for.  I’m going to marinate in the fluff and feel really good about the kid loving football and the impact that could have on this team.  Whatever happens, happens - but I’m going to do my best to be a fan about it, until it’s obvious I shouldn’t be.

Oh my! That looks amazing! Did you make the potstickers, or heat up ones from the store? How early/late do you apply the stir fry sauce and do you have a go to product? Either way, little disappointed I didn’t get an invite.

I did not, those are standard frozen potstickers from the store.  In fact, they were left for dead in the freezer and I figured why not make use of them.

I make my own stir fry sauces.  The lettuce wraps are a copycat of P.F. Chang’s lettuce wraps.  I think it’s just whatever the top rated recipe for that is on Google.

The Mongolian beef sauce is soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice wine vinegar, mirin, brown sugar, siracha, garlic and ginger paste, water and cornstarch.

I typically apply the sauces near the very end, enough time to thicken, but not burn.

Seems like the ideal time to do exactly that IMO

    Why exactly?

Justin Jefferson on the other hand, that’s a WR I’d be willing to give up assets and set contract records for.

Aiyuk, if we wanted him so bad, could wait a season and not give up anything but $.

    What a great idea!

How dark did you toast the bread before dipping?

I dry toasted it on the Blackstone on low for a few minutes on each side.  On a scale of 1-10, about a 4 maybe 5, lightly browned.  Just enough to feel it’s dried out a bit.
