I cannot believe some people don’t want to roll with Howell. This was his first game, where he was completely hamstrung by the oc, and against a very good defense. And he showed such promise that I woke up full of hope. If you run on first and second down almost every single series, you are setting up your qb for failure. But he didn’t fail. He took chances, he had leadership and moxie. And most of all he didn’t let the moment be too big for him. He shook off the int and kept ballin. I’m sorry, maybe I got rose tinted glasses on, but this kid is the truth and I am 100% behind keeping him. Qbs in the draft this year suck anyway. Keep Howell, and if he ends up sucking then tank it for Williams the year after. But I have a feeling Howell is the truth

I think he looked so good it’s a shame we had such an ass hat at oc to try and downplay how good he truly was. When you only get 19 chances to throw, and most of them were on a 3rd and long, after your oc decided to call two runs in a row, and you still looked that impressive, then you might just be “the guy.”

if we f this up, I swear to God I’m going to stop watching football altogether because it’s a sign the big man upstairs don’t want me watching it.

I refuse to go ga-ga over it tho. Especially since we had a monster run/pass disparity and our D was so dominant it scored as many points as it gave up.

 

If we end up without a clear-cut QB1 this offseason and we have to go the QB competition route he gets the oppo to be one of the contestants. That's about where I am with him.

See the issue I have is our coaches obviously can’t evaluate crap. So they’ll put another Fitzpatrick/smith/wentz in and say the veteran “won” the competition, but jus cause someone looks good in practice don’t mean crap. Wentz probably looks great in practice. Look how he did

Again, I don’t think TH is the answer at qb. But it’s things like this that would make me give him a contract as the backup for a long time

I don’t know if this should be posted here but I’m super curious about something, for the lot of you who were not big fans of Kirk, and wanted to release him/not pay him/not sign him, do you wish we still had him? Would he be leading us to the playoffs yearly?

I have always defended Rivera. I think he’s actually a great head coach. I think Scott turner is AWFUL, and only in the league cause his daddy kissed the right booty’s. But Rivera was the one bright spot in a coaching room/front office of complete dysfunction. He always handled the bs around snyder with class and gave us something to at least not be totally embarrassed about during times where we were the joke of the league. With that being said, I cannot for the life of me figure out why he would start wentz today over TH. I’m not saying TH is good, but he’s better than wentz and the guys believe in him. Rivera knows this. I can’t help but think this is a direct order from Snyder. 
whatever, not that it matters anyway. Until our owner is gone, nothing will change. He has been the common denominator the entire time. With all that being said, if Ron doesn’t start Howell Sunday, then I question his motives. I have been on the Howell train since day 1. I watched him a little, and I felt like he’s the one shot we had this year at a real qb. If he sucks, cool, let’s try again. But if he looks good man…. At least we have hope heading into the off-season then, right ?

First game I’ve been to since 2013. This team seemed absolutely dead from the start.  I mean absolutely no energy, no moxie, no swag, nothing. No one was getting vocal, no pumping up, nadda. They won’t play for wentz. Heinicke has no talent, but at least he has heart. Both suck though, Ron shoulda just let Howell play. I’m so tired of not having a freaking QB. It’s so ridiculous. I can’t help but repeat the mistake of letting Kirk go years back. I’m more astounded by so many of you who wanted Wentz to start, just as I was shocked by some of you who didn’t want Cousins years ago. Y’all make no sense to me. I like Ron as a coach, I really do. But Scott Turner is an absolute joke, he’s only in the league cause of his daddy. I pray to God Snyder sells this team ASAP. We will never be anything decent until he is gone. Heck I wouldn’t doubt it if he was the one who made Ron start Wentz.

I will be the first to admit I have to eat crow in this guy. He is freaking phenomenal. I am so happy we got him. Give me dotson over any of the other wrs in the draft. If we get a qb, he’s going to be unreal

Heinicke is awesome when it comes to heart and leadership. But he’s trash when it comes to talent. Keep him as a backup but that’s it.

So Dan gave Trent away for almost  nothing. Released kirk for nothing. I constantly blamed Allen and Snyder for those things specifically. But in the back of my head I was like “I’m sure they tried to keep them or at least get more for them”

now I realize that not only did they not try to keep them, they basically threw them away for nothing and did it on some stupid petty crap.

I still can’t believe so many of you want wentz back in. Wentz sucked. And it wasn’t because of a bad oline. He holds the ball way way too long. He doesn’t trust his decision making. Yes, he used to be good. But, you can see his biggest problem is self confidence in his ability. He’s the polar opposite of th. Leave wentz on the bench

I agree but sometimes those physical tools can help you reach your potential as a team and not have to rely on the D to hold the opponent under 20 every game.

 

Its a tough call and by no means do I want Wentz throwing the ball anymore than Heinicke is but with this winning formula (D+ run game) I think many QBs could thrive.

 

Even if TH loses a game, Ron would lose the locker room if he benched him. He’s 6-1, technically should be 7-0, but that pick 6 vs the Vikings called back stopped that. But either way, the team would lose their crap if he got benched for dropping a game or two for how much they are winning. We all can probably agree we aren’t winning a Super Bowl with any qb on this roster except for if Howell develops maybe. So maybe just let TH ride out, see how far he takes them, and then maybe he’s worth some trade after the season?

Ron wont do it but its worth getting Wentz back in here. The key for Wentz is can he prevent the sack, if he can I think he'll give the offense a boost in the passing game which makes the running game even better.

 

4 of our last 5 are against teams with winning records and we need to win 3 of those games to have a shot at the playoffs. I hate seeing us waste a good opportunity in a season when there really aren't any great teams in the NFC.

Im not a TH guy at all, but give me a break. Wentz was tragic. Yea, th sucks physically. But sometimes it isn’t the physical tools you need your qb to have to win. Our team is good, and th has the leadership and heart to get guys to follow him. Wentz, on the other hand, has the personality of a pool noodle

tanya never did anything wrong that I can think of. I remember her being super nice to the few people who showed up for the name reveal. I got the vibe she thought the commanders name was dog water too. Is there any beef with her doing something demonstrably negative to our org/team other than marrying satan?

I hate the name with a passion. The most bland name with the most bland boring emblem. Sounds like a team in the replacements movie. I will never forgive fan for that one. If you wanna change it cause you think it’ll help your image; fine. But a huge majority begged you to rename it red wolves, and you didn’t even care. God I hate that man

After the name change I vowed to never give Snyder another dollar. I haven’t bought anything related to the nfl since and nor will I. The commanders name was the absolute corniest I ever heard. I thought it was a joke at first. But Snyder lied to us again, pretending we had some voice in this decision when we didn’t. But if he really does sell the team, I will come back with open arms. I dislike that human to the point of hatred, and I’ve never hated anyone, especially some schmuck I never met. But this guy takes the cake. I just pray to God this is really a 100% sell, and he f’s off and never returns. 

I don’t think I have ever seen this entire forum happy until today. This truly is a beautiful day to celebrate
