  1. All I know, is that I firmly believe if Taylor started that game and we didnt waste almost 2 quarters on Fitz, we had a great shot at winning.

I still cant figure out for the freaking life of me, why they would pay an old mediocre QB that we all know could never get us anything but maybe an 8-8 record, when we had a QB that at least we could say maybe just maybe, develop and become great.

Sure looks funny seeing Kirk at the top ahead of Mahomes and Rodgers.

And then there's Sam holding everyone's jocks

Only QB in the nfl that’s as bad as Haskins. At least haskins had the “immature” excuse. Darnold is just awful.

I’ve been watching a few film reviews and QB evaluations and am getting more interested in Kellen Mond from A&M.  Looks like he has a very large upside and a skill set that matches Turner’s scheme.  Looks like we could pick him up at our pick in the second or possibly the third.  Mond, along with the beer man and Allen, could carry us into the season.  If he realizes his “potential” we have our next guy, if not, we haven’t invested a huge  amount of capital in him.  Thoughts?

Pick up a true #2 WR in free agency (i.e.  Curtis Samuel), maybe a LT in the first round, a CB and another WR or S in the third and I think we are in business.

What I am about to say has nothing to do with Mond as a qb. Just what I can’t stop thinking about when I first saw his picture. Does he look like a much much older man then normal? I thought he looked 45 when I saw his pic

    You sound emotional.

What? Not sure what you are even taking about? The ass kissing comment?

I mean come on, they were doing the typical “kiss the guests ass” that interviewers always do. We all damn well know Cam wasn’t top 10 or even top 20 last year and I just thought it was refreshing he said “I don’t deserve that” when other players would sit there and let people keep ass kissing.

    HARD NO to Cam!

Honestly, I love how he said “I don’t deserve that.” When they were kissing his ass saying top 10. He’s humbled. Maybe hungry. Who knows. If it’s injury that hampered him then no, I also say hard no. But if it’s McDaniels(who again I think is awful), then I’d take cam over at least 13 other guys in this league

  5. Do we have any insider info on which way the office is leaning when it comes to QB? Are they going all in on TH? Are they looking to draft one? Are they interested in trading for one? I would love to hear any little rumor at all. I feel like since Ron has taken over **** is air tight. Which is a good thing, but makes this off season much more frustrating to figure out the future.

Also, my 2 cents(not that anyone cares) on some issues argued over the past few pages:

1)as someone said, we traded our future for rg3, he sucked, but we still made the playoffs a couple years later cause we had a competent qb. Trading 3 1st rd picks away for a Wilson or a Watson is 100% worth it. Would I want to lose a pick like Chase? Of course not. But I’d give up 3 josh doctsons in a heartbeat and I think with a good qb we’d be picking late every year.

2)still completely dumbfounded by some of you guys’ love for Mariota. He is absolute trash. He’s a backup at BEST. Wouldn’t even waste a 5th rounder for him.

3)minshew isnt good but a 6/7rd pick is fine even though it’s probably a better idea to try and take a lottery ticket for a qb in one of those rounds and just pray it’s a Brady like decision.

4)I love Fields. But he won’t be there when we pick. I don’t think lance will be either. On the flip side, however, I think Mac Jones is not good at all and we’d be wasting a pick. We shouldn’t force it. TH looked better than a lot of qbs this year. Unless we get a top 2-3 qb prospect from the draft, or unless we get Watson or a Wilson, then just let TH have a shot. I guarantee you Mariota wouldn’t win near as many games as TH would.
5)the only QB I can’t seem to figure out is Cam. Before this past season, and even the first couple games of this past season, I thought Cam was absolutely phenomenal. Again, even the first couple weeks of this past season Like the game against Seattle, Cam looked incredible. I think Josh McDaniels is a terrible O Coordinator and didn’t help Cam at all. But I also think Cam isn’t the same since his injury. I just don’t know which hurt him worse. If it was the injury then obviously I don’t think he’s worth taking a chance on. But if it’s how bad Josh McD is(remember when he was the Broncos coach?) then maybe Cam could still be great? I don’t know. Either way, I doubt that they go after him.
6)In the same type of unknown, there’s Matt Ryan. I feel like he’s still a great qb. He’s just a bit long in the tooth. But man with our defense I think he could have a really good ending to his career and give us a real shot. But I don’t know if he’s worth what he will want in $.

ok that was much longer then I intended, sorry.

I may have a very unpopular opinion here, but we we just that stupid? We are trying to trade picks AGAIN for a QB for a team that went 7-9?

We have so many holes on our team. All lines of our back 7 on defense needs an upgrade. We need another WR, need some O-line help.

I'd rather we use some FA money to sign young guys like a Corey Davis, trade back in the draft to gain draft capital for the 2022 draft and sign Ryan Fitzpatrick to a 1 year deal.

Can we ever be patient for once? We have done this same routine like 10 times over, it is it the reason why I have never seen this team even have an 11 win season in my 30 years of existence

I really think the hole we have is a QB. What would we be if we had a top 10 qb? That one weird numbers lady on nfl network did the math and the team that would benefit most from Watson was us. Raising our win total by 5.4.

i know that’s all kinda bs sports talk. But just think about that. A qb giving us 5 wins extra a year. It’s not that far out there to think it’s true. Our qb play has been atrocious. TH has by far been the best one and he lost both games he was in

  7. Unless we land Watson or Rodgers(a boy can dream ok?!!), we should Just roll with TH. Maybe draft a QB if one is there. I honestly also don’t mind Carr. He played lights out in del rios last year. But I wouldn’t give up more then just 1 1st and 2nd for him.

if we somehow trade for Darnold I will be protesting the ****ing results. I won’t stand idly by for that. How anyone can think he’s good is beyond me. Dude is TERRIBLE

I suspect we will offer #19 and hopefully that's it. Carr has only thrown for over 30 TD's once in his career, BUT, if RR feels like Carr is the guy we can win with then I trust him. We need QB stability. Carr has a nice contract from what I see....cap hits of 22 and 20 mil the next two seasons, free agent in 2023. We trade for him as is, no extension til he proves himself.

Is there actual rumors of us offering stock for Carr? Or is this just people speculating based on the Raiders report of wanting to trade him?

  9. I think Carr would be worth our 1st/19th overall pick. I do think he’s a good top half of the league qb that had the potential to be even better. The year he got hurt against the colts at the end of the season he looked absolutely elite. He hasn’t been able to replicate that, but he did lose Amari Cooper and went through a coaching change. I don’t think he’s more then 1 1st round pick tho. If his price tag is 2 picks, then I would argue we might as well jus go for Watson and put more into it.

  10. I can’t understand the people who are wanting Mariota. heiniche is better then Mariota!! Mariota showed nothing over his years of starting. He was below average at best. And as for Watson, try to look at it from a perspective of hindsight. Do you really think if the packers Traded 3 1st round picks to get Rodgers back in 2005(it was 2005 wasn’t it?) that they would regret it? Lol. You think the chiefs regret trades made for mahomes? Or bills trades they made for Allen? No, sorry. Franchise qbs don’t just grow on trees, let alone one that is under age 26, has basically lead the league in pass yards every year he was a starter, AND HE LITERALLY HAD NO TEAM AROUND HIM AT ALL!! No run game, no receivers, I mean ffs they traded away his best weapon and he still shined. His defense was crap. His coach was fired 6 games in and his replacement was a defensive minded, 0 offensive style brained Romeo crenel. I mean come on. There are few things I’m sure of, but Watson being worth every penny is one of them. I’d be more then happy to trade 3 1sts for him. Or 2 1st and sweat or Payne or something. If that’s not possible, then either draft a qb or keep heiniche. None of this Mariota, Tyrod, Darnold madness. All 3 are crap except Tyrod. Tyrod is actually decent but he’s not taking us to the promise land.

Except when you consider the costs to acquire the players... 2 1st rounders, 2 2nd rounders, Montez Sweat and Kamren Curl vs. Maybe a 4th rounder.

Guarantee they ask for Chase Young if we call. We have no shot at Watson, zilch. Also consider that those could be the demands for the Jets and Dolphins, we would have to pay even more.

Those could be the demands for the Jets or Dolpins. Their 1st rounders are MUCH more valuable than ours is. I'm guessing we would have to pay more.

I am not saying your wrong. I am just saying we also don’t know how badly he doesn’t want to play for Houston. The jets have the 2pick. There is definitely a real chance the Texans go with them as their trade partner. At the same time, New JeTS GM And coach might want to form their own path with their own qb pick in the draft. The jets have few spots of talent so I can see them not wanting to trade at all.  I can’t see the Phins making an offer. There’s no way they give up on Tua that quickly. I think it’s between us and the panthers.

The real question is whether Watson will back down. If he holds out then all of a sudden the leverage swings the other way. MInd you, there will be enough bidders that the cost will still be expensive, but if Watson is serious about being done with Houston then what we are seeing is the top of the asking price and it could go down by half.

This right here. You nailed it. The prices always start high crazy high. They go down the longer the teams wait and the more the player holds his ground if holding out

We don't have the ammunition for Watson.

I feel like we do for what they are asking. Aren’t they asking for 2 firsts and 2 defensive players? And to be honest, I feel like they won’t get the top dollar from any team and since Watson seems like he’s done there we can get him for a little less. Say we offer 2 firsts and Payne or Allen for Watson, this is an absolute steal.

    Edit:

the Mariota talk  scares me. The guy is average at best. If we don’t get Watson or feel there’s a hero in the draft then we just should roll with heiniche. But who knows what can happen. Heck Rodgers might finally tell Green Bay to F off and then that’s a whole new tornado

  13. For the people negative on Watson, have you watched many of his games THIS year? He had NO ONE to throw to. Hopkins was gone, and fuller was suspended Over 1/3 of the season. He had NO running game either. By the way he had no defense as well. He still somehow put up 70% completion, almost 5k yards(led the league in passing yards by the way) and 35tds 7 ints? I may be wrong on td/int ratio. Here’s the thing though, if you watched a lot of his game’s like I did(my son loves Watson. Other then chase young and McLaurin Watson is his favorite player), then you would see that he made chicken salad out of chicken sh*t every single series. I mean it was just astonishing to watch. The other thing is, he’s not some tool bag that’s an ego maniac and doesn’t work hard, Texans forums fans that are insiders all seem to say Watson is one of, if not one then the, hardest working guy in the team. And how he is just a magnificent leader.  Would you trade a bunch of first rounders for mahomes? Would you believe me if I told you that I think mahomes is helped out tremendously by Andy Reid (a guy who made Kevin kolb look like a pro bowler and got a 2nd round pick for him), and made Mcnabb look almost hall of fame worthy. He’s also helped by Hill and Kelce and co. Who is Watson helped out by? If you switched Watson and mahomes teams right now, Watson would have even better numbers. And mahomes I guarantee you would look almost pedestrian. Watson’s acl injuries are scary of course, but at the same time, he’s 25, and doesn’t seem like they’ve slowed him down at all

  14. Chase is the first player I remember on this team since Sean, that whether he got the tackle, sack, pick, or not, he always looks like he’s disrupting the play. There were a couple games where he has no sacks but almost every single play I would look to my wife and go “holy cow did you see what he just did?” I am so glad we got him. My 7 year old son got his jersey for Christmas and it reminds me of when my nephew started watching football and witnessed Sean play. My son is always so intrigued with chase and where he’s at and what he did on any play. Another big positive is the guy looks like a super hero since he towers over everyone and has predator hair. Definitely makes young kids intrigued lol
