Seen a mock that had the Bears move up from #9 for MHJ. I can see them strongly considering a top WR to add to that already stacked group.
Caleb Williams and MHJ would be the definitive way to win the draft right.

Honestly, if we aren’t sold on Maye, or Daniels even, a creative FO would trade out then back up. They’d find the trade partners IMO.

Something Newmark said at the presser last week caught my attention... He said he was kind of caught off guard by how magnetic one of the prospects was. At the time I figured he meant JJ or Drake.
Just for clarity, I don’t think he did say that. It was a more generalised comment as to how some guys were more magnetic compared to others. It wasn’t a specific comment on ‘one’ prospect IMO
Edit - and he didn’t even reference QB, Newmark was talking about the wider group…

JJ at #2 would be a massive call.

I don’t think that’s surprising at all, JJ has been getting props for quite a while now.

I understand picking Daniels because of the potential multi-threat of someone that can pass as well as they throw.
Watching a QB get 5-10 yards running after the 3 second clock and no one is open is one of the demoralizing things to watch in sports.
You can totally wear out the psyche of a defense, not jus their physical stamina, with that happening repeatedly in a game.
I'm still picking Maye, but had a more then one conversation over the past couple days with fans...
Chance of potential shouldn't be more important then chance for production, as potential is just future production from am estimated standpoint.
I'm tired of picking potential over production with these franchise altering picks.
I’d say that explanation would suggest you should take Daniels over Maye

Who the expletive cares what Kliff wants. Take the best long term QB prospect possible. Such process is so mind numbingly stupid it beggars belief.
This I agree with, we’ll just take who we think is the best QB prospect.

JJ at #4 will be great value for someone.

The issue I have with D Robinson is isn’t he just the same type of DE we have three times over already in Armstrong, Ferrell and Obada? If we get a DE, I’d rather try to get the explosive type who can win quickI agree, not explosive enough.

No chance. Caleb is going to sign his contract this week. Before the draft even starts.
I never said we’d agree a trade

Also keep in mind we will still be making one final offer to the Bears. That’s a given before we settle on second best.

I don't think 36+100 gets you to 29.
Just last year, the Titans had to trade 41+72+future 3rd to get #33.
In 2022, the Jags traded 33+106+180 for 27. That's probably the closest in trade value. We don't even have our early 6th. We'd have to trade the late 3rd (100)+mid 5th (we got in the Howell trade) to do a trade like that. I'm not doing that.
Might need an exchange of small change but it won’t be far out

For my money, I think JJ has the highest ceiling of any of them with Caleb right up there with him.
Yeah he’s a bit more of an unknown but someone is going to get a very good QB when they pick him……

I posted this back in February I believe and it was shot down back when everyone had Maye as the no brainer #2 pick
Did they 😂

Giants really should be moving up for a QB.

It would require sacrificing our early 3rd. I’m not doing that. I’d rather be patient and let the chips fall where they may. Heck, I think we sign a stopgap like Donovan Smith soon anyways
36 and 100 might get us to 29 and Detroit’s pick.
Got to think getting a QB and OT would be considered an absolute nailed early draft return.
We can easily trade back with pick 78 for example to acquire an extra pick in the 4th round. Stacks of options. No way we should just sit at 36 or 40 if a great opportunity is there to strike.
But that approach doesn’t have to be a given. Just have to see what unfolds.

I would say Paul is our #1 OT target. Peters pretty much gushed over him at the senior bowl. #36 for sure.
I wouldn’t discount a trade up to #29 with DET for an OT either.

I thought Lance Newmark gave the best answer in the presser regarding QBs, when he talked about the player basically having that inner belief and drive to succeed. I get the leadership point too, but to be a high end performing and successful QB, damn you have to be a different kind of beast.

The other good news is that SF are slated to ‘need’ OL/CB/WR in the draft so Peters likely had a strong view in those areas before coming here….

Great vid. They are well made.
Peters is living his best life right now.

I think there’s an outside chance we trade to the later first round to get an OT. I can also see us taking OT later on too. Bring a couple in.
Either way, Peters seemed very chilled about it. He’s probably thinking, damn this draft is almost perfect for us.

Five NFL players who were suspended indefinitely for violating the league's gambling policy in 2023 have been reinstated, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Thursday.
Three ex-Lions players -- wide receiver Quintez Cephus, safety C.J. Moore and defensive lineman Demetrius Taylor -- ex-Colts linebacker Rashod Berry and current Commanders edge Shaka Toney have had their active statuses restored.
Of the five reinstated players, only Toney is currently on a team's 90-man roster.

You really should be more open minded
Peters rolled out quite a few vanilla statements in that presser.
