Ok yall, no more ODU jibber jabber or its Van Damme taint-strikes across the board.

Don’t go making promises like that and getting me worked up and then not delivering. I can’t handle another let down after what ODU did yesterday.

Home and Away deal for a couple seasons was announced like two years after their first game together wasn't it?

We’ve played NSU 3 times in the regular season. 1 time at NSU in 2013 and 2 times at ODU in 2015 & 2019. I’d be surprised if any future games are played at Dick Price Stadium.

All this ODU hate tickles me proper.

I remember when they first started their football program and refused to play Norfolk State out of fear losing to them would negatively impact recruitment.

When I went to see the two teams play basketball at the scope and saw ODU Cheerleaders team was larger then everyone Norfolk State brought with them, players coaches, Cheerleaders, everyone...I've wanted nothing more then for their boujeeness to be justly rewarded.

Glory to your perpetual mediocrity, you've earned it through same-day shipping via karma.

I don’t remember Bobby Wilder ducking Norfolk State. He scheduled W&M in ODU’s second season (2010), when W&M was a top ranked FCS team. I doubt Wilder was scared of NSU. I can only speculate that maybe NSU wanted a multiple year agreement that ODU wasn’t interested in?

For all the faults Wilder had after 2016, he did an excellent job building ODU up as quickly as he did, which most of the credit should go to Heinecke. I just find it hard to believe ODU was ducking NSU, especially when we played each other in the playoffs in 2011 and crushed NSU after giving up a 98 yard touchdown on the opening drive.

Expecting commuter colleges to compete is always problematic (of course ODU might have changed in the 30 years since I attended as a Freshman 😆).

It’s made even more difficult when mediocrity seems to be the new standard. The facilities aren’t terrible, the AD is. JMU and Liberty are easily comparable and both schools have left ODU in the dust, especially in football.

    Never change, Old Dirty.

Don’t worry, we won’t. Our inept AD won’t be fired, thus allowing our sorry coaches in football and basketball continue to deteriorate our programs.

Oh hells yeah The Famous Toastery Bowl.

This is coming from an ODU Alum, this bowl game along with at least another 11 bowl games shouldn’t be taking place. Rewarding mediocrity (6-6) is absurd. A team should be at least 8-4 to qualify for a bowl.

I get it and it sucks..but didn't JMU agree to this when they moved from FCS to BCS?

Yes they did. Like every other school before them did. Including ODU when we had Heinecke as our QB. We weren’t able to play in a bowl game with him as QB due to this rule.

Any decent 1/2 hour comedy shows out there I need to see? Looking for newer stuff. Already saw "Dead to me" (good show) "Younger" (real good, Friends type vibes) and now watching "Ted Lasso" (also very good) But need something new in the rotation. Thanks for any recommendations.

Only Murders in the Building. Some episodes may run past 30 minutes, but it’s well worth the watch.

So we need to beat Iran, or else they will advance assuming that Wales ties or loses to England ?

Yes. We currently sit in 3rd with 2 points. England has 4 points in 1st place. Iran has 3 points in 2nd place. If we tie Iran that would only give us 3 points and Iran with 4 points. It’s win and advance. Any other result, we go home.

So.ODU didn’t even have a football team until 2007 … and didn’t start actually playing games until 2009

No, our program was disbanded back in the late 1930's and then brought back in 2007 and played it's "first" new game vs. Chowan in 2009.  It was a big deal when we were playing William & Mary 12 years ago, now we've beaten the Hokies twice and are at the FBS level all thanks to Heinicke.

Hopefully VT holds on to our scheduled games and doesn't drop us like Seth Greenberg did in basketball years ago.

they have these giant retention ditches everywhere because drainage sucks in the Norfolk/Hampton roads/va beach/ Newport News area

and I know they are retention ponds now because, well, duh.

but. When I was 18. And the entire city was jacked. And we were under mandatory evac orders from the university. And there was immense rainfall. These retention ditches turned into swimming pools for me and all my dumb and fun friends.

You're most likely referring to Isabel in 2003.  We were without power for a solid 10 days, and missed two weeks of school my senior year that fall.  Luckily like it has been stated earlier in this thread, Hampton Roads is pretty well protected from taking a direct shot from a massive hurricane because of the Outer Banks and the water temperature in the Atlantic Ocean isn't nearly what it is in the Gulf of Mexico.  Hopefully Ida isn't the start of a terrible hurricane season for the next 6-8 weeks.

Why in the **** are they not all vaccinated by now?

Unfortunately they all could be vaccinated now, but that doesn't mean they're not able to contract the virus.  The vaccine will just make it so where they should not die or have to be hospitalized from COVID.  Also, there's no telling if the people they're around outside of baseball are vaccinated.

  13. I'm aware, I'm biased (big time), but if Smith isn't able to play Sunday I have faith in Heinicke to get the job done.  Taylor's had some bad luck with injuries in the past, and if he can stay healthy, we have a legitimate shot at winning on Sunday.  Heinicke doesn't have the strongest arm by any means, but he has that "it" factor and is able to make plays with his legs if need be.  He knows this offense better than any of our QB's, including Alex, so I believe we'll be in good hands on Sunday night if Smith can't suit up.

I can’t root for a team that essentially out spends the entire league to try to buy the title.

You do it for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.  So how are the Dodgers different?

I think I am going to get one of those.  I have just heard very mixed reviews about them.  Well by that I mean reading the reviews on the website give mixed reviews saying the quality is trash and the way they size isn't really that great and people are getting wrong sizes, and you can't even return em.  At $30 they are steep so I'd expect them to be perfect.  My brother has one and says it's great because it doesn't stick to your face.  The Adidas one I have does stick to my mouth as I breathe heavy when working out.  It's not a deal breaker but it would be nice to not do that.

I want to get the Rock's latest shoes so I may just get a mask when I get those.  I have worked out in the first shoes he released but the grip on the bottom is not there so I'm thinking of replacing them with the new ones.

I have the UA Sportsmask as well, and it's the best mask I own.  I wear it the entire time I'm at the gym lifting weights, I would recommend it.  I would make sure to measure from your nose to your ear like they show online to make sure you buy the correct size, it's not a one size fits all type of mask.

I can find time to walk or even jog and will.  I was asking more about core exercises e.g. crunches (which suck), if that makes sense.

As stated before diet is a huge factor and losing weight.  Also I would recommend the couch to 5k program especially since you're starting from zero.

    https://rockay.com/blog/how-to-go-from-couch-to-5k-training-plan/#:~:text=Couch to 5k is a,for 20 to 30 minutes.

Surely you've had it fixed by now but that's the first thing that comes to mind when you posted they symptom. When they fail, they will cut off randomly and not leave any codes in the PCM to perform diagnostics on. Further, they can be difficult to trace because they have to be "failed" in order to trace it. Lots of times the car just starts right back up.

Yeah, I took it in a couple of weeks ago, and the tech replaced the crank shaft sensor using his knowledge because there was not definitive way to say what was causing the Jeep to cut off.  He also reset the check engine light and so far the Jeep hasn't cut off, and the check engine light still is off.

  18. My wife's 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee has cut off twice now while driving, once while making a turn and another while sitting at a stoplight.  When I google it, the main response seems to be a faulty crank shaft sensor.  Does that sound right to the experts on here?

They're 15-2 in their last 17. I'd say that's pretty hot. And ya their schedule is easy, but it doesn't get any harder for them. And it does for us. I'd bet $ they end up wc #1

I know I'm late in seeing this, but I wish I had taken that bet.  Hopefully we're able to stay hot and keep it going today and on Tuesday.

I'm convinced now that we will play the Brewers, in Milwaukee. Cubs aren't great right now and still have a ton of games left against a much better STL team..

Brewers are the hottest team out right now. Right at the right time. Don't see them slipping up

I'm not convinced it will be in Milwaukee.  I don't believe they're the hottest team, they're the team that's playing the easiest schedule out of all the potential playoff teams.

Here is my dream lineup for tonight. I call it "More Rest Before Atl"

    1. CF Eaton

    2. LF Parra

    3. 1B Adams

    4. 3B Kendrick (That's right)

    5. 2B Dozier

    6. DH Zimmerman

    7. RF. Robles

    8. 3B. Sanchez

    9. C. Kieboom

Then full normal starters tomorrow with Zimm DH'ing again.

That's a bold lineup, especially defensively playing without a SS.  Hopefully Davey doesn't go through with your lineup.
