Because the Niners have a coach who can adjust, changes up formations and plays (even if they seem to look similar, they aren't), and plays to the strengths of the guys who he has on the field.

Thx you good sir. I just needed that sanity check. I'm so DAYUM tired of seeing bunch formations and stacked boxes. We create stacked boxes and try to run on them. We don't spread the field or use half of it. We don't run slants, curls, or comebacks.

I never ceased to be amazed at how this team consistently manages to find the most predictable, conservative, uninspiring offensive play callers and coaches. The only exception to that was when McVay took over play calling duties and then of course he left at the first opportunity.

That's where i am. Wanna know how autonomous KOC is in playcalling. The screen for a first used their aggressiveness against them. The play where Smallwood moved up closer to the LOS and he hit Quinn showed thought but other than that i saw nothing inspiring.

Well bud, we scored zero points while having a near-ideal performance from AP considering the defense we were playing, and it coincided with our own defense actually being stout. And yet....zero points. That might be part of what's wrong.

So why did it work for the Niners? They stuck to the run game, didn't do anything fancy. Oh yeah, Case got out played by Jimmy G.

Maybe Horton as DC but I’d bet Callahan gets the HC nod due to his affiliation with Bruce.

Really interested to know how much autonomy KOC has in playcalling. Two games in and really not impressed thus far. Just finished watching the Niners game. How many Sims gadget plays are we gonna call per game? Felt like they went away from downhill running and got too cute.

I'd like to know why Manusky thought it was necessary to give a 37 year old Witten 5 yards of cushion off the line? If you are not confident in a linebacker or corner or safety to able to cover a geriatric tight end without pull off coverage, you either need to bench some players, or resign as a coordinator.

The same reason he killed Norman on a rte. It'd if been different if he bodied him up. No, he killed him on a rte.  Norman can't cover Witten. He has no biz being on the field at all.

  6. I'm just flabbergasted by the play calling. DL looks like it's getting worn down quick. They don't send any heat. Norman is sooo bad they back off everyone. How many times does he have to get isolated on a speed WR before they recognize and adjust. Teams are looking for him. He's averaging a +40 yd td a game. I wouldn't even be mad if the secondary was getting beat in press man. But it's death by a 1,000 cuts watching them. I like Holcomb but he was getting swallowed by dallass OL. SMDH

And that is SAD that anyone could consider Norman our "best CB" because the dude is not worth the dollars we are paying him.   He is okay. Last year he got his ass handed to him, turned around, I don't know how many times, but it was sad for a billed "shutdown" CB.   Not denying he had some good plays, but the burned Norman stands out in my mind.

Allen or someone in that FO really needs to get him to restructure or you go CB first round and dump him.

Clearly Dunny was the best cover corner prior to his freak injury. Curious as to what Moreau can do w/ starter reps.

Give me DRC at free safety all day over Haha. Haha is not good.

If this is the move its elite and DRC at 33 > Haha any age.

Saw this on B/R and instantly thought UPGRADE.  Love the move.  Let's DRC just be ball hawk.  Less wear and tear on the body.  Only question left is Nicholson done?

We have some unproven players with a lot of potential, Like Allen and Payne.  But I think a front seven of Ioannidis, Payne, Allen, and Smith, Kerrigan, Brown, Foster can be dominant.  Do I have the potential starting lineup right?  Who is the weak link (if you feel there is one)?  I'm excited about football again, especially our defense.

Right now the LB corp and Josh Norman are the weakest link IMHO. I see Moreau taking his place next year. Norman is getting killed in man coverage and missing a lot of tackles. Brown looks slow. But the three down lineman are killing it. Kerrigan is rounding into shape. But I'm very pleased this far.

Hopefully we can stabilizea rotation. I want Hood playing as little as possible, and with teams more likely to double Allen, it'll lead to independent matchups for everybody else. I'm confident everyone in our starting front 7 can win a match-up one on one so it looks like the groundwork is laid

Hood is solid just not at nose. His natural position is 3-4 DT.

  10. I don't think we need AP to be the league leading rusher. A healthy line like last season prior to the injury bug has a bigger impact. I believe Guice would've been huge. But I don't think even at this stage of his career AP is equivalent or less than Kelley or Perrine. Mixed reviews on Cards OL. Yes Johnson killed it behind that line. But even our mangled D crushed them last year.

I think this group will surprise some people. Should be quite a bit better than the group that suited up last year.By the way, I am pretty sure Richardson’s numbers last year were comparable or better than Crowder’s. Richardsons 4-4 speed can’t hurt either.

Not sure how much of a super star you need. Jay schemes players open as well. Crowder a little knicked up last year, no speed outside at all, and between Doctson and Reed one of them is gonna be healthy this season. Match that up with Smith's mobility. I think this offense could be very effective.

Was just watching NFLN nfc east training camp special and i gotta say the amount of disrespect the Redskins get is mind blowing..Every team in that division  get an excuse for why they didn't make the playoffs except the Redskins which is funny because they lost more starters and backup than any of the other teams..

I hope the coaches and players are paying attention to all of the naysayers saying they have no chance to compete with any of the other NFC East teams and come out and just kick the living **** out of the other teams in the division..

Doesn't matter, the "experts"will blow it off as a down season for the division even if we went 16-0.

  13. Any takes on how Adonis figures into the DB rotation if at all. How does this affect Moreau getting on the field? I think Moreau pushes for the #2 slot. I know I don't want to have the pick up from dallass figure in as a mason cog on D. Here's already peaked on the back side of his career.

I know I've said it a million times on this forum but you 'Skins fans from outside the D.C. area truly confuse me. I know a lot of you came to the team during the golden years but you all have stuck around. You all a great but you truly confuse me.

The irony. I grew up in SE VA. Always thought the Skinz belonged to VA just played in DC. LOL

    John Morgan ‏@MMAjunkieJohn

Dana said he's "really close" to pulling Nick from the GSP fight again. Really, really doesn't want to put feels his hand is being forced.

GSP is my favorite fighter. Understanding his last fight was a comeback fight. He didn't do anything that I found impressive. I'm dieing to see I'd that was just a fluke or if the rumors of his demise are legitimate. Diaz would provide a sound test but I couldn't see how he beats GSP.

  16. I'm not sure how you can watch Bones, and not see skill. Particularly when you compare his standup technique in his first UFC fight against Gusmao to his fights against Shogun/Rampage/Rashad.

You're probably right its just that when I'm watching him he looks so effortless. Most fighters when you watch them you can tell what their strengths are. Watching Bones stand up game is crazy. His length let's him strike and just look so natural. I love the way he uses his elbows in close. Like razor blades cutting through paper. What do you see in the Hendo fight?
