  1. He earned his minutes last season by showing his development over the course of the 2nd half of the season. I have no doubts in my mind he can beat out Okafor, but decisions are not always made on talent alone. The size of Okafor's contract could get him minutes he hasn't earned.

There is also a certain segment of players that just perform better as starters as opposed to coming off the bench.

So Kevin Seraphin earned his minutes by beating out no one else worthy on the roster? lol, if that's earning minutes wow

  2. I hope this deal doesn't eat into Seraphin's minutes, I would rather see him in the starting lineup than Okafor.

Well lets consider a genius option: Let Kevin earn his minutes!! If he is that good, which I think he can be, let him earn it and beat out Okafor. Or we can go by last year's rules and just hand out jobs on a silver platter with no competition. Poor Kevin Seraphin, little baby might actually have to earn his job now. Poor thing.

And consider this, IF Seraphin can't beat out Okafor for a starting job and minutes, he probably ain't got a great future in the NBA anyways!!

  3. Listen, why is this a bad trade?

We traded a dead, useless Gilbert Arenas to acquire Rashard Lewis. Trash was traded for more Trash. So Lewis was just trash sitting on the roster.

Now we get a serviceable big man who can maybe contribute off the bench and compete with Seraphin for minutes. These young guys should not be handed anything to them as they were last season. They should earn their spots. Let Kevin Seraphin beat Okafor out for the starting job, and then we have a good bench player in Emeka.

Both players only have two years on the contracts, so we are not tied up long term, we can make a big play in FA in two years.

People complain about everything on here, typically Washingtonian fans who think they know more than they do. I don't think we got worse than better.

  4. He was with EG in Milwaukee.

If healthy he is still very effective shooter and a 14-16ppg scorer.

Thats why i'd imagine we would be interested plus vet leadership. It would only be a 1-2 year deal. I doubt he comes here though

Samuels, thanks for the info. I am guessing you have some inside info on the Wiz? From what I hear Charlotte will take Trob @ #2. I hope Teddy is making wise basketball decisions and not doing stupid stuff that Abe used to do. I know Leonsis is a good owner but I want him to be an owner, NOT making basketball decisions.

  5. Do you guys think we should add a high price FA or weapon in FA this offseason? I really think John Wall can do some great things with Nene. I think Nene is a 20-10 baller, but if we had another legitimate weapon we could really compete in the playoffs.

the real question, is Booker and Seraphin going to be consistent or not next season? If knew the answer Id bet my life savings

  6. Well the Wittman situation isn't too bad since the players respect him, high salary players like Van Gundy, Flip, and Dantoni have had a great deal of difficulty having respect of the players. I know SVG had issues with respect everywhere he's been and the players didn't really respect Flip in Detroit that much either. Whats the point of bringing in a "star coach" if he can't handle his players?

  7. I think John Wall is definately a top pick an untradable. Think about Rondo...imagine if Wall had KG, Pierce, and Ray Allen to work with, wow. Imagine if Wall had Zach Randolph, Marc Gasol, and Rudy Gay to work with. Imagine if John Wall had Kevin Durant to work with. While Wall needs to get better, so does the talent around him. We need a consistent go to guy, hopefully its Nene and Seraphin next year.

  8. let's wait and see how this team turns out in a couple years before we bash Ernie.

Abe wanted to win now, that was his orders to Ernie, so Ernie formed Gilbert, Caron, and Antawn.

Gilbert decided to be an A-hole, cost us the season, and we had to break up the big 3.

Now we rebuild, and if you look at OKC, Memphis, and other rebuilding projects, they painfully took time and did not appear as though things were becoming good.

I like Jan, I like Sepharin, of course I like Wall. I like Trevor Book and I like Nene. Not sure about Singleton but he could be alright. Once we start spending some money then we can judge the franchise.
