  1. I could understand how someone would think Floyd is going to win a close decision...but knock Shane out? Really?

Floyd has only knocked one opponent out in the last 4 years, and that was a much smaller, less skilled Ricky Hatton.

Shane has never been knocked out.....what makes you think a welterweight with inferior power is going to knock out a bigger man who has never been knocked out before?

True Sugar has never been knocked out but he's been knocked down. So he can fall and he will fall to Mayweather. Don't underestimate the power of Mayweather.

  2. Floyd has alot of critics to shut up and Shane is one of them. This should be a good fight with Shane getting knocked out in the 10th round. If I can't have Pac-Mayweather, I guess this is the next best thing.

  3. if you are a legit promoter than you should have contingency plan in place especially when you still havent officially signed to fight anyone...

why dont you question Mayweather's side when they saying they will fight Mosley next following Mosley-Berto fight? Seems like they had a plan in place too huh?

Provided that Mosely does get past Berto, Mayweather wants to punish him for him out after the Marquez fight. The fight between Pac and Clottey is already signed. Nobody has a signed fight that fast unless they already knew that didn't want to get in the ring. Are you really willing to pay for a Clottey/Pac fight?

  4. Per ESPN.com

Pacquiao to fight Clottey, Roach says

With his fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. all but off, Manny Pacquiao has instead agreed to fight Joshua Clottey on March 13 at a site to be determined, Pacquiao trainer Freddie Roach told ESPN's Brian Kenny on Friday.

The Pacquiao-Mayweather bout, which had also been tentatively set for March 13, was called off Wednesday night by Top Rank's Bob Arum, Pacquiao's promoter, after mediation failed to resolve their issues over drug testing protocol.

But Mayweather Jr. maintained Thursday night that he still wanted to fight Pacquiao.

Clottey (35-3, 20 KOs), a 32-year-old from Ghana living in New York, last fought in a split decision loss to welterweight titlist Miguel Cotto on June 13, a fight many believed Clottey won.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

Nobody can book another fight that fast unless they already had a contingency plan in place. He never wanted any parts of Mayweather and threw up smokescreens. When ever you would see an interview with Pac, and any reporter would ask him about Mayweather he would deflect the question.

  5. Arum: 'The fight's off

    ESPN.com

The much-anticipated showdown between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, tentatively scheduled for March 13 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, isn't happening, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum told ESPN.com on Wednesday night.

"The fight's off," Arum, who promotes Pacquiao, said from Las Vegas.

The fight died after a last-ditch attempt at mediation failed.

Arum said Pacquiao would move on and likely fight junior middleweight titlist Yuri Foreman on March 13 or March 20.

Anyone think this is all planned and they're just tryin superhard to draw even more interest in this fight?

This exactly what boxing doesn't need to happen. I really do hope that they will be able to resurrect this fight. Boxing needs this fight to happen. Dream matches like these don't come around often, it's so important to get this on.

    :helmet:

  6. Roach also said that's why Pacman never got any of his immunizations when he was a kid, he feels that's what gave him power.

Manny was required to take a blood test 24 days prior to the Hatton fight, so I know doesn't mind taking a needle for +30 mill.

He agreed to take three blood test for the Mayweather bout. Once in January, 30 days before the fight, and one after the fight. Standard drug testing protocol for the Nevada State Athletic Commission, especially for a high profile fight.

But he's not going to let the Mayweather's camp dictate the how they proceed with the doping policy. If the NAC find thats the Floyd's camp has a legitimate request, then Arum and Manny will agree to it.

Why is so hard for the Mayweather to comply with the three scheduled blood test for the fight?

Because if you know a blood test is coming, you can clean it up before the test.

  7. its more than the testing.. Pac has superstition that the act of withdrawing his blood close to the fight will weaken him... so if Mayweather knows of this then its a pretty good bet that all of this is a plan to get an edge by playing some mind games with Pacman...

You see I would've believed that if I didn't know that Pac took a blood test just days before his Hatton fight.

    :helmet:

  8. If it's there, where is it? I guess Leonard, Hearns or any other fighter that won multiple titles in different weight classes is suspect. Mayweather is one of those guys that don't want to fight someone that can beat him.

And you say "if Pac has nothing to hide, he ought to take a test?" Well, that's not how it works. If Mayweather is so into PED's in boxing, name another fight that he pulled this crap.

    Mosely

  9. Dude, just quit while you're ahead because you sound like a complete idiot. Pac will take the testing as long as the NAC decides and dictates the protocol for testing. Arum is not going to let the Gayweathers decide the testing the policy.

    Get a grip on yourself.

Pac doesn't want to take the tests. What does it matter, who is administering the test? OSADA does random blood testing. This hangup between them both is based on that, nothing else. How can a boxer with tattoos be afraid of blood and needles?

    :helmet:

  10. Well the Mayweathers should have just kept their traps shut if they didn't have no proof. I don't blame Pac. They tried to tarnish his legacy.

The proof is there. Just watch the matches. In this type of law where money is involved, Mayweather would need an inside man to blow the lid on Pac.

If Pac has nothing to hide, THEN TAKE THE TESTS.

    :helmet:

  11. Pacquiao is a huge hypocrite and a liar. How could anyone make the claim that they are afraid of needles and blood? Especially when your a boxer with tattoos?! How could you be afraid of blood? Does anyone not recognize what is happening here?

Of course, he's going to file a lawsuit against Mayweather. He doesn't want his secret out. Most importantly he knows that the burden of proof falls on Mayweather. Mayweather wouldn't be able to prove anything(which Manny knows). I'm not saying the brother is doping but he shouldn't be treating fans like they're stupid.

He should take the tests and in 2010 prove that he's the best pound for pound fighter.

    :helmet:

  12. I hated watching that beating Cotto took. I'm proud that he fought such a great fight but I was really hoping he'd pull out the upset. Rounds 1-4 were special to watch. But in the end Pacs' speed was the difference.

    :helmet:

  13. haye threw like 10 punches per round

his defense was good (then again, Valuev punches could be seen by the blind), but that fight was atrocious on the eyes

i actually like Haye, but he could've thrown alot more punches than he did in that fight. he almost lost that fight by not throwing enough punches, even though valuev didn't hit anything but air for 12 rounds

If he got more busy, you and I both know, he'd be going for the knockout. He paced himself and made Valuev look like an amateur. I can't knock that.

    :helmet:

  14. david haye deserves no congrats for that abomination of a fight

Why not?...He executed his gameplan to perfection. Nobody was going to knock out that 7" footer, so you had to beat him on points. Haye stumbled the big fellow in the final round. That cost Valuev.

    :helmet:

  15. First of all, congratulations to David Haye. I hope he knocks out the Klitschko brothers. We need some new blood in the heavy weight division.

Cotto and Pacquiao have FOTY potential. Cotto will win by decision, I hope. I need him to get out of the Margarito shadow.

    :box:

  16. I hate paying for a Super Fight only to find out that one of the fighters was trying to cheat. Margarito has been suspended for a year for relatively the same offence as baseball players taking steriods. His hands were wrapped with a different kind of substance that adds weight. What is going on?

David Haye, who looks poised to be the next big thing, does something very dumb. He poses for a magazine holding the cut out head of Vitali as part of the promotion to fight Wlad. Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for hype and entertainment leading up to a fight. But why in the world would you want to anger a fighter that is our current equivalent to Drago?

Prediction: This fight is going to get ugly, very ugly. Somebody is going to get knocked out.

It's been a long time since the HeavyWeight Division, the crown jewel of Boxing, has had this much anticipation for a fight. :helmet:
