Damn I forgot how good it felt to utterly annihilate the Cardinals. It was hilarious watching their hitters flail helplessly at our pitchers. It was like their entire lineup was full of Danny Espinosas.

remember the speech their manager gave after they beat the braves?

What are you guys watching, to replace live fights ?

Just finished this UFC documentary ; quite interesting.

Back when the rules were a little more lax.

How many guys were fans during this era ?

Showtime has been running classic boxing matches. Tonight at 10pm(est), they are replaying Diego Coralles vs. Jose Luis Castilo. It is the best fight i've seen in my lifetime, through boxing or mma.

Otherwise, I've been dipping into some overlooked classic MMA fights. yesterday I watched Jorge Santiago vs. Kazuo Misaki II.  one of few mma fights that was legitimately great in all 3 phases, striking, wrestling, & grappling.

also ran through the underrated Shinya Aoki/Hellboy Hansen trilogy:

Fight 1: Aoki pulls of a gogoplata

Fight 2: Hansen puts him away with some vicious ground and pound.

Fight 3: Hansen is on his way to winning a competitive fight until Aoki snatches an armbar in the closing seconds

The American public isn’t very good at long term thinking. People celebrating a bump in his approval did so when we had barely started feeling the effects of his disastrous response.

The fact that he can tell 40% of this country to jump off a cliff and they would willingly follow is terrifying. 40% of the country is way too large of an amount of stupid. Within that kind of stupid, many have found their way into positions of power. If they were merely fringe, i could comfortably avoid them. 40% means i gotta deal with these ****ing idiots as i navigate my own life.

Honestly though, I think it's one of the possibilities you mentioned earlier - greed.

They know that they are basically "the only act in town". They have zero competition.

And when the dust settles and it's time for 'fight night', and people are tired of Netflix, and tired of fightin with their family and roommates, or takin their dog for a walk, or arguing on Facbook ot twiter, or morbid news stats, etc etc, they are gonna opt for a live fight. There's enough people that are not hurtin for money right now, that I can see Dana makin a killin on this. Just my unprofessional financial opinion.

imagine if one of these fighters ends up needing to go to the hospital post fight. in the middle of a damn pandemic, when hospitals are at their wits end, we got a fighter coming in with post-fight injuries because fighting is apparently essential

Rose pulled out of her fight with Andrade and MMA fans are predictably saying extremely dumb things about her right now.

Wow, Ngannou is on a Prelim, and Greg Hardy is on the Main Card

more evidence of mma being the dumbest "sport" on earth

all that work they did to get official regulation, now they run to native lands just to make a buck during a pandemic
