It's purely a cosmetic issue, but does anyone know why this is still around?
I guess I don't understand why this logo that is not on our uniforms or really even present in the Verizon Center is still used on basically every major NBA-related website or television production.

Destino: "A little too late to tank, with just 26 games left."
If we make the playoffs, Grunfeld and Witt may get extensions. If we miss, no way does that happen. Obviously it's too late in all likelihood to get the #1 pick or anything, but we can still tank enough to miss the playoffs.
I argue that Ernie and Randy will get canned if this team doesn't show up in the playoffs. To me, "showing up" is 2 wins, meaning avoiding the 7th and 8th seeds completely. If we land the 4th, 5th or 6th seed, we need 2 wins against Chicago, Brooklyn and Toronto. No short order, especially with Nene's annual non contact injury

I think what makes it so much worse is how far in advanced they decided on Vesely. It was telegraphed that he was our pick about a month before the draft.
Grunfeld seems to do that. Maybe it's because he's lazy? He signed Maynor the first afternoon of FA, wouldn't even give Kendall Marshall a look.
-
This team had Kendall Marshall...same handle, better passer 15 years younger. This is the WORST FO in the NBA

6th OVERALL PICK FROM 3 YEARS AGO & #WIZARDS 1st FREE AGENCY SIGNING LAST SUMMER = 37-YEAR-OLD ANDRE! #SOWIZARDS.
-
Vesely and Maynor (2 of Grunfeld's greatest hits) for Andre Miller in the works. Makes me angry. The 2013 and 2011 drafts have gotten us NOTHING
-
Nene is such a big, soft, puss
-
Andre miller got suspended for conduct detrimental to team. Could Ernie possibly swing a deal and bring a solid backup PG and erase the Maynor mistake?
-
I wish we had Brad Stevens. I feel like stevemcqueen's sig could be replaced with Brad Stevens and Randy Wittman.

The guy we traded for Jason Collins & Leandro Barbosa is having a better game than Wall so far.
The Players that should be compared are Crawford and Maynor. How does that look right now?
-
At the end of the day, despite how great John Wall can be, this is a Grunfeld-built team and the ceiling will remain mediocrity until he is removed. His competence as a manager is the worst of all DC sports teams by a mile, even below Shanahan, which is saying something. Coaching? Sucks. Bench? nonexistent. Scouting? Besides being gift wrapped Wall and Beal, nothing. Trades? Nene will never play a full season. Crawford? I don't care how much of a malcontent he was, he has talent and we got a torn ACL for him. Rubio for Miller and Foye? Haha.
Webster is the only savvy move I've seen him make and that's depressing.

Porter played one summer league game and missed basically all team activity for 3 months with whatever ailment he had. A contingency plan should have been developed for him, while he was out and while he was playing catchup.
Harrington, a high mileage 33 year old whom nobody wanted, who missed basically all of last season, who was signed in August for the vet minimum, was supposed to be the "scoring punch?" And he's missed basically all of this season and is having surgery. Who woulda thought that would happen?
I'll give you webster. He's the only legit bench player in washington. Otherwise, it's a dumpster fire.
Not to mention our prized FA acquisition who is not even in the rotation, while we passed up on Jamal Crawford, Nate Wolters, Kendal Marshall and a player like Nate Robinson who was signed for a comparable amount as Maynor
-
Contenders have very good to at least competant bench players. There is a drop off in talent when the starters are out, but not a huge one. With this team, the disparity in ability between starters and the bench is always enormous. When has this team ever had a serviceable bench?
-
Hard to be clutch when you play John Wall's game and your prize FA backup only logs five... He needs help or this is gonna be an accumulating problem as the season goes on.
Grunfeld did a good job of tricking everyone for about 5 games or so, the depth on this team is as thin as ever.
Maynor is playing the worst basketball in the association right now I'm pretty sure
-
-
Christ Wall is anti clutch.
He's gotta be so gassed at the end of games playing his style for forty plus minutes a game...
He wore down against milwaukee too. Maynor has completely fallen out of the rotation and there's just no one there to pick up the other minutes
-
1:30 left in the game. Crunch time. "I DON'T CARE! I LOVE IT!" Really?
-
There's something fishy about how this team handles, diagnoses and disseminates public information on injuries. It seems everything takes long longer than originally expected (Wall), or they misdiagnose. Porter was day-to-day for about 3 months. Is it tendonitis or achilles with Nene? Today buchantz says its achilles. Seems to change. Players also have multiple Injury-list stints because of the same injury (Gilbert).
I can't really indict the training staff because I have no evidence. But there's just something about a "wizards injury" that I have really yet to see in any other professional sports team. Well, I guess with the exception of the team in asburn, va.
-
Eric Maynor's awful clock management at the end of the first quarter indirectly got Webster hurt, and Wittman's reluctance to play him in the second half wore Wall down.
Nene is the softest "big" in the NBA.
That last play was swing gate-esque
SO wizards
-
kendall marshall with 30 and 10 last night in his d league debut. Wish we had him instead of maynor

this training staff...

Wittman's assistant Don Newman was plucked from the Spurs.
Would he be next man up if WIttman is axed?
I love this interview with the towel ripper, Gortat. Very eloquent and has a good perspective on things. I hope he sticks around

Ariza's reaction is priceless

Just watched a segment on the "pace in space" and the "corporate knowledge" of the San Antonio Spurs. Wow. We need to pluck someone from that tree and remove the ceiling that is Wittman
A couple of Wizards beat reporters said that Vesely still would have been the pick even if Jonas V was available
Vucevic, Leonard, Thompson, Faried, Valanciunas. The talent was there. we whiffed bad
-
That is ****-ing unbelievable.
Actually incredibly believable. Missed time to nagging injuries all three seasons he's played here. played 82 games once, now in his 13th season in the league. Ernie and Ted knew this when making the trade
