Thing is if we know they are taking Daniels. And we want Maye or McCarthy you can work out a trade to move down one spot. Players or picks. Peters did not say a trade down was impossible. He said he didnt currently see a scenario where that would happen. Moving down one spot for the guy you want, even if the compensation is minimal, is the right move.

I mean I get that, like you can get the player you want or move down a spot and get the player you want and a second. Am I following?

    1. Peters has already said they are happy at 2 and don't see a situation where they trade down.

    2. If the Raiders move up to 3 they'll have to give up almost every decent asset they have. What will they have to give to move up to 2? They only make that trade if they know for sure Daniels will be there at 3, which they won't until actual draft day itself. There is no incentive for them to make that kind of trade this early.

We need to stop coming up with these convuluted trade scenarios. We're sticking at 2 and we're likely taking Daniels.

Yeah this is what kinda makes me gloss over any trade-up situations for LV. They can't empty their pockets to get to 3 and then afford twice that to get to 2.

Can't figure out if that's an obscure reference to the famed Seinfeld episode at the Chinese Restaurant, "Cartwright! Cartwright! Table of 4! or to the 7th rounder that stuck, Rock Cartwright, or something else entirely.

Ah, I wonder what Blondie is up to nowadays. Haven't thought of her in a long time.

Forget 2034. I'm not even sure he'd be as viable in 2028. Mobility/athleticism tends to drop off around age 27 and Daniels will already be 24 in December.

I more mean does it seem, and I know it's hard to extrapolate, that he can still be a franchise quarterback without his legs being an every down possibility.

  5. What do people think of Daniels if his running fell off? I know I'm getting way ahead of myself, but the dream is to have a quarterback that gets my first- and second-graders through high school. Even before the ACL, RGIII didn't seem sustainable.

Would Daniels still be as viable in 2034 as Maye would be? I literally know nothing about CFB because my heart can't take more than one team and one sport, so I have no horse in this race.

Howell's was against ARZ in the home opener, I was there. if i remember correctly he was already down and got slammed in the head, the crowd was livid, I was like you gotta be kidding another major injury to our QB right off the bat but he came right back out like a boss

Ahhh, okay. I was there too, now I remember. My son's first game and he got to hear me pissed off on a Sunday during a game except outside this time.

I could see that, but they are going to show the most vivid, holy ---- hits. It would be nice if they dug through the ASU games to find more though, I agree, but again, if you are that clueless running, doesn't matter if you're flagged or not. Ngata wasn't very nice on the play that started the end of RGIII's career, and flagged or not, the problem was RGIII risking that, not that players are sometimes scoundrels when it comes to hits, Howell took one of those last year as someone on here mentioned this past week, and considering it can happen to anyone at any time, best to avoid self-induced Super Dave Osborne moments to compound the physical risk.

The RGIII hit by Ngata was a one-in-a-million-and-only-to-the-Redskins hit. I don't like how he was treated after that hit by Shanahanahanhanaan, but that hit itself could've happened to anyone.

The hit on Howell, is that the one that was half an hour after the whistle and a mile and a half out of bounds in the Giants game?

Though I'm a guy favoring Maye (genuinely concerned about JDs durability in the pros) I hope he does too. I hope the same for Maye and JD etc..

I hope every serious QB candidate they evaluate makes them really work to get to the decision.

I think this is the only team-centered approach, truthfully. I would much rather have to make a hard choice between a bunch of future HOFers than pick "my guy" who's clearly above everyone else.

    It only makes us better.

And I hope the rest of them have careers that are great when they don't negatively impact us.

The funny thing about analytics people, especially when it comes to P2S, is that it sorta is working backwards.

P2S matters because, Joe Burrow aside, it correlates with success.

    Is there wobble?  Absolutely.

But given that only roughly 2/3rds of top 10 QBs succeed, and then roughly only half of QBs in the rest of round 1 and 2 succeed, clearly the people making the picks, be they coaches, GMs, or Jerry Jones aren't all that amazing picking dudes either.

so PTS?  Because I kept reading that as you not knowing how to spell "PS2" and then 1999 came back and it wasn't bad and then 2000 did and oh no

Again, not directed at you, SIP.  This is another reason you don't spend a #2 overall on this player!  I've pointed out the other ones in previous post(s).

From what I'm seeing it's not an issue? I'm confused.  It's not like Malcomb Kelly who had established problems in his knee that weren't going to get better, this is something that just needs to be drained before it gets infected.

I am married, so I could be wrong, though.

  11. I am so effing confused as to how McCarthy and Penix rocketed up the boards and the former is suddenly a legit shot at #2.

Like, they haven't played any more games. Their bodies haven't changed. They're not walk ons.  I just don't understand the process.

Also I have wanted to be annoying the **** out of people for months by saying "It's gonna be Maye." Justin Timberlake still hasn't responded but whatever.

It's thrilling to finally have a player represented by a YMAPAA Sports agent, who brings expertise to YMAPAA Football. YMAPAA agents are excellent. When a YMAPAA agent is signed by a player, that player is guaranteed to be bring and negotiate with the best. YMAPAA doesn't give the YMAPAA stamp of approval without knowing they meet the YMAPAA standards.

My vote for post of the year 🤣

We are at that stage of free agency where things are more boring than my love life. In other words, its about as riveting as watching grass grow.

Did you tell the grass that you had those feelings? That's always the first and scariest step.

Armstrong's 11% was for the whole year...Van Ginkel's 19% was for Weeks 13-18...and I'd be willing to bet those were his best stretch of games.

Also, the guy's initials are AVG and we've had enough average players.

The thing about Keim, as Cooley used to joke, he doesn't talk unless he has like 7 sources on something.  He doesn't want to be wrong so its rare that he spitballs based on just one souce.

Speaking of Keim he wrote an article on the subject today

    https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39668487/what-washington-do-no-2

One of the few in the industry, sports or otherwise, who does as such.

I know he still can't predict the future, but he's the gold standard.

Also a very nice guy in person. What you see on TV and his podcast is what you get.

It's not just those two.  Daniel Jones is Tom Brady against this team.  Dexter Lawrence destroys our O line.  And for some odd reason their bad O line game plans well against our pass rush aside from the last match up.

Your points are right on. They just seem to click against us beyond their headliners. Personally I think it's the logo. They've just had our number the past 20-ish years.

I'm hoping it's Snyder being allergic to NY and Harris & Co won't have the same issue now that they're getting their guys in place.
