I would argue it should make it easier - if you have an offensive minded HC the OC is almost always just implementing the HCs system. He’s probably not calling plays - and if he does he’s handcuffed by the HC.With a defensive HC you would have much more freedom to install and run your own system. If you’re successful that’s the fast train to a HC opportunity.
All valid points, but that OC gets that HC opportunity, you lose the chemistry he had with the QB

Todd monken did great this year
Monken did do well this with the Ravens, but they had to go to college ranks to get him after so many bad years with Greg Roman

When you don't have an offensive minded HC, finding a good OC is very difficult Ask the Ravens and Steelers

Canada is just another version of EB, but worse. Just get Kingbury and be done with it

Quinn may not be the HC we wanted, but he’s the one we need at this time

I'll take MacDonald at this point given that he's the youngest guy available at this point. Sucks that we won't have that HC who's not married to the QB that we drafted like Reid is to Mahomes in KC, but it is what it is at this point
-
Here's hoping that Harris and Peters already have some sort of plan in place at this point and they move forward with that

It's gotten so bad that we're pining for former head coaches, LOL!

Cause he's paid by Josh Harris to build this roster?
I thought that was Peters' job as the GM

It just seems like this job has gone from one this was so attractive to one that guys are running away from

It's become so bad that the ONLY offensive guy left is EB. Here's hoping that Harris and Peters have a plan and an ace up their sleeves somewhere

I hold grudges. Hopefully Detroit goes 6-11 next season, I want nothing good for this spineless greedy tool.
Not too far fetched with them playing a 1st place schedule and the Packers on the rise in their own division as well. It's always tough for teams to repeat as division champs. Look at this division for example

I understand that Ben Johnson wants to win a SB, but his stock will probably never be higher than it was this year. Sometimes you need to shoot your shot regardless of the situation.

Got to trust Peters, Harris, and the process here.

It's funny.... because it's so us.
It's not the same old Skins/WFT stuff though anymore. We were just duped this time and weren't the only ones

Why is no one looking at Miami's OC? Am I missing something?

Looks like Schefter was right all along with Johnson not being a lock

It's not Harris and Peters it's Johnson.
Of course it's Johnson. I'm taking about next steps to getting the guy they want now

Sucks to be let down like this. I trust Harris and Peters to be decisive about the guy they want
-
I thought Harris was going to meeting with Ben Johnson early in the week. I guess not. This is going to be so bad if Johnson somehow ends up in Seattle
-
This team needs to be aggressive as possible when it comes to Ben Johnson. I don't think Seattle is that attractive of a job, but you never know what they're capable of. Meet with Johnson and get it done ASAP

Is anyone concerned about the game Ben Johnson called? I know conventional wisdom has him as the top HC candidate out there but I can't shake an uneasy feeling about him not keeping his foot on the gas in the second half vs. the 49ers.
Johnson called a pretty good game. The 1st half was almost flawless. The 2nd half, it was more about the players not executing and Campbell going against conventional wisdom. All in all, it was pretty good sample size

And Chase Young in all his mediocrity may get a ring , What a kick in the Nuts. Happy for Trent though.
Chase is a hanger on guy they got at the trade deadline that's done nothing for SF. Who cares at the end of the day. He's the same guy for them that he was for this team

Great job by the Harris group getting Kingsbury. Now let's get that franchise QB that he can groom
