According to Schaefer, @AdrienBroner has picked up his right to a rematch with @ChinoMaidana. He said rematch likely in April on @SHOsports

Schaefer said Maidana-Broner II could be 4/19 or 4/26 at StubHub Center in Carson, Calif., or again at Alamodome in San Antonio. #boxing

Broner deserves some measure of credit for going right back at Maidana. A lot of fighters would have taken a "get right" fight before doing a rematch. Better fix that defense though, its extra leaky.

  2. There are, in this world, terrible places of inky nothingness.  No sound, no light, no soul can ever escape.  You won't see the sky and you won't feel the ground, you will only fall and you will resign yourself to this vacuum.  And when the falling ends, you will not remember or reminisce.  You will pretend that it never happened and deny your powerlessness, like a child that tries to go to sleep with the lights on, while the monster waits under the bed.

You console yourself, cowardly beneath your blanket, with one thought…I want to leave Indiana.

  3. was the statement only mentioning white people?

not only that but Gortat and Vesely do not see themselves as "white." They see one as Polish and the other Czech.

It's all tongue in cheek, but in a racist context, the statement can only be interpreted as reinforcing the stereotype that white folks can't jump.

For instance:  " That John Wall is a white man in a black man's body…You never see a black man swim like that."  See what I mean?

  4. White folks in Europe definitely can. But not in the way Gortat was talking here. White is an American thing because we're such an ethnic hodge-podge. That's as specific as white people tend to get when describing themselves.

But there is an ancient history of ethnic prejudice and strife among white skinned peoples in Europe.

True that.  Everybody over there knows that Poles have no hops and Czechs cannot swim.
