I’ll try to be an example of not caring for the pick, would have preferred Maye but, not be an obtuse asshat about it now that we have Daniels.

Welcome to the Skins.  I hope I’m wrong and you lead the team to multiple Super Bowls.  I don’t care who gets us there, just get there.

Same, I loved Maye's potential, glad he's in NE and not NY. I'll watch his career with a ton of interest to see if he fulfills that potential now without hating him. JD worked his butt off, won a heisman and is coming off an electric year. Pumped he's our QB

  2. Koolaid at 36, trade back a little with 40 still in range for Amedgadjie (future LT), or E Cooper - trade next years 2nd for Aiyuk (esp since it'll be 60-64 range ( 😉 )

Love some combo of Fisher, K Jackson, C Beebe and Sinnott later tonight... I want Javon Foster in the later rounds for Tackle depth, potential RT starter if we miss out in earlier rounds

I'm trying to think of the teams that "built the roster" and then found the QB.

The first is the 00s Steelers who thought they stunk when they drafted Roethlisberger and then realized "Oh ****....we're good."

I guess the Rams did it when they signed Stafford but that was the rare "one year all in bet" that actually paid off.

The other were the recent 49ers who seem to have done it three times in the last decade, which suggests they haven't actually done it. It's possible that their roster is so good that anyone could play QB. Me....you....a feral cat.

Also, I wish Mike Ditka were still alive to push JJ McCarthy. He would like the cut of his jib.

The Buccaneers with Brady, not that I agree with that approach for us, just saying. Also, Peyton in Denver

Penalties every kickoff I see. I can't even read this and make sense of it.

I’m a big XFL/UFL fan and while that sounds like a lot, kickoffs were awesome and limited the full speed collisions with this design.

if this gets approved, I bet fans will love it

Dude showed every sign of being utterly toast last year. The RB age cliff is a thing, he passed it, and then you just have to wait for the bomb to go off, as it always does, it happened for Ekeler last year. Don't get the signing at all, but I suppose it's a spackle stop gap because this rookie RB class sucks. Probably a decision to give the new QB 2 adequate floor RB's, but Ekeler, again, totally looks toast. So? I don't really see the point here, at all.

He played with a high ankle sprain most of the year, I’m pumped to see him here and healthy . Worst case, it doesn’t work out and he indeed fell off a cliff and we’re out $5mil… my bet, he’s a lot of fun to watch in B&G next year.

  6. Put me in the camp that would be excited for Daniels or Maye, most exciting position to be in, drafting the most exciting/ difficult to evaluate position on the field. Its nowhere near the same, but my son is a high school QB and to watch the prep, training, film, etc they go through at his level is insane and I have so much respect for the guys that make it to the NFL now.

I have reservations about Daniels holding up and I have reservations about Maye being more consistent. Think I lean towards the prototypical size and attributes of Maye from what I've seen. Hopefully our QB coach is able to maximize the strengths of whomever we draft. Good times, remember its been 12 years since we were in this position and expected to get a potential franchise QB!

Yeah the analogy I used is: imagine you're a Death Row inmate wrongly convicted of murder. Well just when you thought it was all over, new evidence comes out and not only are you released from prison, but you're given $10 Mil as compensation. BUT...you have to live in like Milwaukee or Des Moines. Those cities are....fine. But wouldn't you rather live in San Diego or South Beach?

Both of those are underrated great midwest cities btw... blessing in disguise?

Yeah for me I don't change teams, ever.

I think it was funny and apt to see Andy Pollin making fun of Steve Czaben (radio personalities) who bailed on the team to become a Packers fan or watching Chad Dukes (radio personality) who switched to being a Titans fan being goofed on twitter for it.  Though to each their own.

The way I see it is when this team finally turns it around and I think they will, fans like us will enjoy it to no end.  Like drinking champagne when you are thirsty in the desert.

used to listen to Czabe a lot and still follow on twitter, its weird seeing someone jump into another team... like watching your dad with a new wife. Anyway, I don't get how people were able to fully switch. Our family kind of decided to watch an AFC team more closely and pull for certain players, my youngest son is the passionate one about NFL ball still and he quietly cheers on the Bills. He hates the chiefs bc of all the bandwagon fans here in St Louis and we dove head first into the XFL/UFL.

I hope what we see on the horizon is the beauty of sticking this whole thing out. what a disaster its been, I can't think of any fan group that has had to deal with what we have - name change, crap owner, crap team on the field, drama, terrible stadium and facilities... we even somehow screwed up the richmond training camp experience from what I understand (only made the trip there once)

On the draft front and MLB/ Def QB side, I really hope Trotter, Wilson or Cooper are on our radar in the 2nd/3rd. How many rookies come in at that position and are able to hold it down on the communication/play front? I am drawing a blank on young MLB contibutors

  9. After QB and obviously fixing the line (which will have to have some FA signings to fix too) MLB & QB of the Defense has to be addressed. Watching highlights of Cooper, Trotter and Wilson, I would have to think one of our 2 2nd rounders picks up one of those guys. Cooper played against the best in college football, lined up all over and made sideline to sideline plays, he gets my vote.

  10. The QB position isn't just the most important in football, it might be the most important position in all of sports... we finally have a natural way to draft 1 of the 2 best QBs in a class with 3 top potential options and we want to trade it away? We don't need more chances to pick the forbes and youngs and davis's of the world... we need a potential game changer signal caller.

No need to get cute here, throw every football front office resource at vetting these kids and rank your best 2, you're getting one of them.

Also, kind of feels like these two 2024 draft threads should be merged at this point right?

  11. The football player Williams is as exciting a prospect as there is, his dad and “the entitled brat” noise has to be vetted. We can’t have all that noise, it’s too detrimental… if that all gets vetted, I’m all in for a trade up

  12. My worry about Daniels is he was able to outrun most at the college level and will put himself in harms way at the NFL level, those hits he took against bama this year will be the norm. I am truly excited about all 4 of Williams, Maye, Daniels, Penix. I'll trust the professionals to pick the best two and we'll have one of them as a franchise QB. Exciting times!
