  1. Yea and the one manager likes shocktop better than blue moon and they save like $10 per keg ordering shock top, so whats that say about their taste in beer? lolz They go through about 80 kegs a week there! Just from one distributor who i work for (but we do have most of the beer there on tap) They are not strapped for $ or anything hahah I doubt it was a distributor as the one that carrys Guinness in that region is based out of baltimore (fpwinner) and was always lazy as hell when I used to work in MD... was probably a 3rd party person
  2. I think the blonde is very good... Smithwicks is coming out with a ale version of their beer, very limited at first, but I think my first account putting it on tap is Murphys in old town alexandria ... monday morning Im supposed to hook it up, cleaning the lines there at 6:30am lol will have to see if its better on tap than in the bottle. We got to try it at a meeting last week that one of our suppliers attended, it wasnt bad, but wasnt like "wow" either, guinness blonde is better heh

  10. Like when it comes out of the faucet (draft beer) i run my finger under it and lick it off ... I'm not allowed to "drink" on the job per abc laws
  11. Messing around this morning before our meeting, and took some pics of our draft room at work, and before anyone asks, no I cant get you any tap handles lol http://s1218.photobucket.com/user/SoMdBuzzsaw/library/PremVADraftRoom?sort=3&page=1
  12. Tasted (didnt actually drink any) some blue moon pumpkin seasonal the other day and it was actually pretty good
  13. We will start selling a new brewery tomorrow out of DC called 3 Stars Brewing ... Google them to find their website and listing of beer. Being a huge Metallica fan I'm going straight for the harvester of sorrow brew to try first!
  14. We distribute Heritage and Old Bust Head , I LOVE the OBH wildcat IPA, never have liked IPA's but this one is $ Heritage isnt bad, a little strong for my taste
  15. ^^^ They only had Newcastle tapped with these kegs the day of training, and I hate that stuff so I didnt drink it lol Right now its just Heineken and that available. Oh I think one day every brewery will jump on this bandwagon, domestic, import and craft, and what restaurant owner or bar owner wouldnt want more profit per ounce AND less wasted beer? and the kegs are totally recyclable aka green. This just hit the market, ie available to retailers, the one installed at Crystal City Sports Pub in Arlington was the first on the entire east coast, thats how new it is.
  16. C02 does both actually... w/o the co2 beer will not flow... try turning your gas off, bet it wont flow for more than a few seconds until the pressure in the line drops They are 5 gallons.. they are about the same size as a 5 gallon micro matic line cleaning can C02 is not what they use to pressurize the keg or the beer, the beer doesnt have any gas's added to it what so ever.... the bladder inside is what holds the beer, the outer bladder around the actual beer is pressurized. Think of it like a paper bag inside, when beer starts to leave, the bladder will start to shrink little by little. A actual compressor installed outside of the keg room/cooler is what pressurizes it These new kegs can not be layed on their sides, but their foot print is MUCH smaller than a traditional steel keg,but is about a 1/6 bbl i would say If too small to read ^^ https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BuCoTEWIMAAtgot.jpg:large
  17. Do you want beer that tastes fresh, like it was just brewed at the brewery? Well sooner or later, every beer on tap at bars and restaurants will have kegs that will give you that freshly brewed taste! Right now, its just Heineken and NewCastle, and these new keg systems dont use any C02 or gas mixtures to push the beer to the faucet. No air gets in these kegs and doesnt touch the liquid until it hits your glass/mug. Well maybe not every bar/restaurant because it costs about 452$ to install 2 lines, but the yield per keg is almost 100% compared to about 90 for your traditional steel kegs, which means more profit per keg for the owner/bar and less wasted beer from each keg. We had a training session today on this with a rep from Micro matic, and Heineken http://brewlocksystem.com/landing.php Watch the overview video Awesome new technology in the beer world, I know I know, now we need better beers than a Heiny and newcastle lol
  18. At the bowling alley the other night, I decided to try cornona light on draft because, 1, it was a free mug of it, and 2, I clean the lines there so I know they are clean LOL and was just there the day before.. It was the first light beer that I can recall, that actually had FLAVOR!! Have never tried it in a bottle to compare but was pleasantly surprised so I'll give it a B- for a light beer on draft
  19. I see you're in MD, dont think they distribute there yet as they are still a pretty new brewery... they are in warrenton va. So if you're ever in VA, look for it on store shelves.... https://www.facebook.com/OldBustHead
  20. I am not either.. but man!! You have to try the Old Bust Head Wildcat IPA.... I havent had one in a few weeks, but I got my bro in law hooked on them (he loves ipa's) and my next door neighbor... is actually the best ipa ive had , I dont like the super hoppy ones
  21. Have never seen that on shelves, but have only had the regular pumpkin on tap, will look for it Oktoberfest is in our warehouse look for it soon lol New Belgiums fall beer is out too, forget the name of it, have never tried it. I have tried Southern Tier Pumking on tap , wasnt impressed
  22. Since the pumpkin beers will be out soon..... Whats everyone's favorite? Mine is...shipyard pumpkinhead (sorry dfitzo lol) Has the best overall pumkin flavor of any out there IMHO and Ive tried many lol I love pumpkin anything
