Tampa mayor: Tom Brady 'cited' for working out in park closed because of coronavirus

Tom Brady has stayed in the headlines since leaving the New England Patriots for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

This is one he’d probably like to have back.

Tampa Mayor Jane Castor spoke with St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman on a public video briefing Monday, and the city’s most famous new resident became a topic of conversation.

    Brady’s alleged public park trouble

Castor relayed a story about a recent run-in a parks employee had with the NFL quarterback.

“I always tell people, ‘Now I’m not one to gossip so you didn’t hear this from me,'” Castor told Kriseman. “But you know our parks are closed down so a lot of our parks staff, they patrol around just to make sure that people aren’t doing contact sports and things and saw an individual working out in one of our downtown parks.

“And she went over to tell him that it was closed and it was Tom Brady.”

But that wasn’t all. Apparently Brady didn’t get off with just a warning.

‘Well, there you go,” Castor continued after Kriseman reacted. “He has been cited.”

She then on to talk about “how wonderful our sports teams are to step up.”

Brady has not publicly commented on the mayor’s statement.

Larson fired after sponsors drop NASCAR driver over slur

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Kyle Larson was fired Tuesday by Chip Ganassi Racing, completing a stunning downfall for the budding NASCAR star who uttered a racial slur during a live-streamed virtual race and then watched nearly every one of his sponsors drop him.

The 27-year-old Larson, in his seventh Cup season with Ganassi and considered the top free agent in NASCAR just three days ago, is now out of a job in what could ultimately be an eight-figure blunder.

"After much consideration, Chip Ganassi Racing has determined that it will end its relationship with driver Kyle Larson," Ganassi said. "As we said before, the comments that Kyle made were both offensive and unacceptable especially given the values of our organization. As we continued to evaluate the situation with all the relevant parties, it became obvious that this was the only appropriate course of action to take."

Richard Petty Motorsports driver Bubba Wallace must be having a really bad day at Sunday's video game simulation of eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series last April 5-- enough to rage-quit in the middle of the race and lose a lucrative sponsorship deal.

In case you didn't know, the term "rage quit" is a well-known gamer term for a player who gets so mad that they prematurely quit the race.

NASCAR’s Kyle Larson apologizes after suspension over racial slur during racing livestream

Chip Ganassi Racing has suspended driver Kyle Larson from NASCAR following an alleged use of a racial slur on a livestream during an iRacing event Sunday night.

“NASCAR has made diversity and inclusion a priority and will not tolerate the type of language used by Kyle Larson during Sunday’s iRacing event,” a NASCAR statement read. “Our member conduct guidelines are clear in this regard, and we will enforce these guidelines to maintain an inclusive environment for our entire industry and fan base.”

    Larson apologized for his actions.

TMZ: Cowboys' Dak Prescott Hosts Party with Ezekiel Elliott Despite COVID-19

Like much of the United States, the state of Texas is under a stay-at-home mandate in an effort to stop the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, per the New York Times.

Gov. Greg Abbott also issued an executive order on March 19 that all people in the state "shall avoid gatherings of groups of more than 10 people."

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott are reportedly not practicing social-distancing measures, however, as TMZ Sports reported that the signal-caller hosted a birthday party at his house in Prosper, Texas, that included as many as 30 guests.

Column: How the $2 trillion U.S. coronavirus relief bill impacts retirement savers

    SOCIAL SECURITY

Enrollees in Social Security retirement and disability benefits will receive the same one-time $1,200 stimulus payments that are being sent to most adults, subject to the same income limitations ($75,000 in adjusted gross income for single filers and $150,000 for joint filers). Lesser amounts will be paid to people with adjusted gross income over those ceilings. Recipients of Supplemental Security Income, a program for people with very low incomes, also will receive the payments.

The payments will be structured as income tax rebates - like a refund of taxes that you paid, so they will not be taxable. Details are not available yet on how the payments will be made, but they may be added to already-scheduled electronic payments and are expected to be sent in early April, according to Certner.

Israel takes step toward emergency government as Gantz is elected parliament speaker

JERUSALEM —Israeli lawmakers took what could be a significant step Thursday toward forming an emergency government and ending the country's year-long political deadlock by electing opposition leader Benny Gantz as speaker of parliament.

The unexpected development looks to be part of a deal between Gantz and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to form a unity government as Israel battles the coronavirus pandemic. Under the deal, Netanyahu could remain prime minister for now.

The sudden turn of events prompted the immediate breakup of Gantz’s Blue and White party. Two of the three factions comprising that party have consistently said they will not join a governing coalition or participate in a political scenario that allows Netanyahu to remain in office while he faces criminal indictment.

Trump has flipped the 9th Circuit — and some new judges are causing a 'shock wave'

When President Trump ticks off his accomplishments since taking office, he frequently mentions his aggressive makeover of a key sector of the federal judiciary — the circuit courts of appeal, where he has appointed 51 judges to lifetime jobs in three years.

n few places has the effect been felt more powerfully than in the sprawling 9th Circuit, which covers California and eight other states. Because of Trump's success in filling vacancies, the San Francisco-based circuit, long dominated by Democratic appointees, has suddenly shifted to the right, with an even more pronounced tilt expected in the years ahead.

Trump has now named 10 judges to the 9th Circuit — more than one-third of its active judges — compared with seven appointed by President Obama over eight years.

"Trump has effectively flipped the circuit," said 9th Circuit Judge Milan D. Smith Jr., an appointee of President George W. Bush.

  10. If Pat Shurmur is hired as the OC then that could increase the chances of Case Keenum returning as the backup QB. Scott Turner could be hired as the qB coach. Would the Redskins consider hiring Jason Garrett in some capacity. Since KOC is under contract with the Redskins would the Redskins force teams to make a trade if they want KOC.

Hmm, I thought it was Hardcore Holly who made those rule initially..

I think it was Hardcore Holly, Nic Foley was there last night to introduce the belt. I remember a few years ago when the Hardcore belt was retired and they had the last championship scramble consisting of all the former hardcore champions i including a couple female announcers who had held the title briefly when they jumped the champion at the interview.

Did anyone watch the Money in the Bank pay per view and the several botched calls by the Refs?

  12. I liked last night on Raw that the WWE has brought back a milder version of the Hardcore belt called the 24/7 Belt. Mic Foley basically said the same thing about the belt when he introduced it lasyt night as when it was the Hardcore Belt. He said this belt is 24/7 that you have to want it 24/7 and its a way of life etc. He said the belt open to anyone on any of the rosters even international ones.As long as a ref is present the belt can change hands. Foley put it down in the Ring and the First to grab it was Titus Oneil the first 24/7 Champ. He was going up the Ramp when Robert Roode blindsided him and pinned him. Roode than was hiding rest of the night when R Truth offered to hid Roode in his car trunk. He got everyone to leave then opened the trunk and offered roode a ride. As Roode opened the passenger side door he sees a ref. He goes what is going on when Rtruth pins him and becomes the new Champ. Renee Young said this is crazy. I don't think she was there for the Hardcore days. R truth will be taking the belt to Smackdown.
