Oof...Keim had a brain fart lol:
"In fact, Pittsburgh has finished with a losing record only twice since 1992 and owns more Super Bowl wins in that time (two) than the Redskins do playoff wins (zero)."
It has since been corrected.

They have that Pryor kid running around but I'll take our chances on a QB converted WR to save his career going against our secondary
I dunno...Pryor is looking as legit as he can during preseasøn, although at the moment he seems more of a one-trick pony. But it's an effective trick...and he was doing it without Coleman or Gordon in the game with him. If Doctson had the same type of preseason Pryor had, we'd all be over the moon.
Plus they have Barnidge and if Coleman starts to pan out...that could be a very impressive pass catching unit.

I just read the "poem"...
This duck has more street cred than Griffin lol...

Yeah, the main thing, I think, is having his name on the thread. This one's disguised as a Manziel thread.
While it may play a role in things, I think the bigger issue is that this time we Redskins fans have someone at QB to replace him who we feel confident in. With Campbell, when we sent him to the Raiders we had an aging McNabb and Rex Grossman taking his place lol...it didn't take long for whatever confidence we had in Campbell's replacement to fizzle out. So the second guessing was right there on the surface ready to be activated by the idea that Campbell could end up having another 20+ TD season while we Skins fans watched McNabb kill worms all season.

Rename the thread to put RGIII in the title and throw it in the stadium and then see what happens.
When Jason Campbell got traded to the Raiduhs, the thread about him got put here in the ATN forum, and it still blew up lol...Seemed like every damn pass caused 12 more pages to be added to the thread.

Yes it is sad to see, but we Redskin fans have to let Morris go.
He's with the enemy now, and we can't distinguish him from that.
I have a feeling that most of the people that are doing that right now will change their tune when the Redskins and Cowboys meet.
Here's what I hope:
Morris is starting both times the Skins and Cowboys meet up...that would mean they wasted a high draft pick on Elliot lol...

Can I just say that I'm sooooo damn thankful that the talk about 1) Griffin's marriage and new squeeze, and 2) Griffin's good performance against the Falcons has generated a minimal amount of discussion so far ...I just "knew" both were gonna send this thread into the stratosphere lol...but so far, nada. Good to see.

What are you talking about? Our starters moved the ball just fine on that defense.
Our starters were only in for 1 drive, which went 30 yards and never crossed mid-field.
Not sure I would classify that as "just fine" lol...

I think it will take more than a couple preseason games against vanilla defense to tell if Prescott will be good or not.
MUCH more...no anointing oil needed yet.
But he does look good so far, dammit lol...

Oh, remember that criminal conviction a guy got for blackmail attempt? It wasn't Robert in the tape.
Word on the street is, it's multiple people from basketball team on the tape. And that maybe a teammate was also helping her be unfaithful (though if that was in retaliation for something, I don't know.)
What's the saying, if you want to keep your heroes make sure you never meet them? I thought that story from BustedCoverage was nonsense or distorted but it's possible it's not. The woman who was subject of that story and alleged sexting correspondence was asking him to delete the old posts recently but just before divorce filing. And she just started following RGDerp on instagram again. Not saying old Meredith is involved but just saying I bet he's trying to avoid that old rumor being part of divorce. unfortunately for him, he married someone who was already run through by athletes so he can't use her prior history in divorce proceedings unless it continued.
Robert's metier seems to be finding new ways in which NOT to learn from his time in the league (and life.)
I don't even know how I saw a link, I wasn't on Lipstick Alley but I went there after I saw the TMZ link fo sho.

Also we know Robert likes to talk with the media and get his side of the story out there... So the reported "grew distant with his wife" could be just his spin. Wondering if his gal Grete had something to do with that strained relationship...
Every explanation for a dissolved marriage is, by default, spin. I'm just chalking it up to immaturity and marrying way too young.
I tell my daughter she's better off getting married in her late 20s/early 30s all the time. Get your emotional and mental **** together (not to mention your career started) before taking such a big step.

Not necessarily disagreeing with this but the whole getting his rebound chick's name tattooed on his forearm is definitely a sign that somethings up.
Its just his whole persona that's unraveling that gets me. The family guy, the awesome teammate, the mature down to earth likable guy, the hard worker. He was just a complete fraud.
!!...Ok, I didn't know he did that part in bold lol...good lord.
You're probably right.

I don't mind talking about this here but we should really have a "what the **** is wrong with Robert Griffin" thread at this point. Dude has some serious issues... Idk what happened to his marriage but you can't make it work at least for awhile longer while you have a little baby?
Maybe his wife finally caught onto the fact that he's mentally ****ed. He bought into every bit of his own hype and thinks his **** don't stink.
I'm so damn glad this clown is not in DC anymore and this is coming from a guy that held out support for him for way longer than a lot of people did.
I would be shocked if he has an NFL job in two years. Equally surprised if he's still starting halfway through this season. His career is toast and he doesn't seem to even have his life in order anymore.
Oh come on, now lol ...
He (they) got married way too young imo. Plus he's been with her since he was like 18...that's a classic recipe for being tempted, whether you're male or female...happens a LOT. It's still disappointing but it's not a sign of a mental illness lol...
-
Damn...that's way too quick. You never know the whole story--maybe Rebecca called his mom the "N-word" or something lol...still that's just way too quick, especially after having a baby a year ago. Disappointing to hear...
-
All it took was 8 preseason passes--for another team--to get this argument/debate up and running again lol...
Surprisingly, though, this pales in comparison to the Jason Campbell threads after he was traded to the Raiders.

Yeah, about that... it's been a while since watching RGIII play but doesn't he have a top quality throwing arm? Of the stretch-the-field variety? I'm thinking Hue Jackson and Pep Hamilton realize the pass-happy nature of the league, hence the 142 receivers and a cannon arm to get it to 'em are what they're going for.
And a settled starter at QB means desperately needed reps are regularly apportioned properly. I say "desperately" because the team needs to build chemistry and they're way behind their division rivals in that regard.
Pretty much yeah to all of that.
Doesn't even come close to meaning Griffin will start succeeding but I do get the logic behind the coaches' decisions and actions.

Two sets of coaches (and probably half the league) basically thought he couldn't play. Its got nothing to do with fans.
But that's not even my point. My point is about competition. The last time he got handed the job without competing for it, you saw how that turned out. It'd be one thing if he were their 1st rd pick they were hitching their wagon to, but he isnt.
And one set of coaches apparently thinks he CAN play. Fans follow conventional wisdom. Coaches tend to follow their own assessments. That's what it has to do with fans.
As for competition, even McCown said it's best for the team for whatever competition there is to be over asap.

It still seems curious why the Browns would hand him the starting job. They dont watch the film? Hasnt played in a year, the last game film wasnt impressive. The tape alone should warrant a competition through a few preseason games, even if he's the frontrunner going in.
It's because they aren't fans, they're coaches.
And his closest competition went 1-4 for 5 yards, is 36 years old and has zero to offer the franchise past this year (and has barely anything to offer them this year). McCown's biggest asset to any team is being their backup.

Yeah, starting Griffin was more or less a no-brainer, unless he just vomited all over himself in training camp or something lol...
The browns are a rebuilding, rebooting team with a young roster and a new head coach. If McCown reaches his ceiling this season they might go 7-9, but he's toast after this year due to his age. If Griffin reaches his ceiling this year they might go 9-7 but will have in him a much younger QB they can continue to develop next season and extend the season after that if they are wanting to. This season is as much an assessment as it is anything else...try and see if Griffin can be salvaged, try and see which of their 142 WRs can catch lol...try and see if their arrow can be said to be pointing up at the end of the season instead of swirling around in a circle.
And as said above, even if they're still losing Griffin alone will make the Browns relevant, at least for awhile. Nobody anywhere is gonna give two ****s about the Browns losing week after week with McCown behind center.

Reminds me of this weird **** I watched years ago called Caligula (based on the roman emperor). One of the most ****ed up movies I've ever seen. And so much full on nudity and sex. Like GoT x 5.
Didn't know non porn films went hardcore like that until then
The mainstream actors in that movie didn't know it was gonna be straight-up porn when they agreed to make it and while they were making it lol...apparently the porn scenes were entered into the film after shooting was finished. But should have expected something like that when the producer is the son of the founder of Hustler magazine.

Yeah but there are 32 first round picks every year and most of them have their heads on straight. Johnny is a rare kind of hot mess.
I'm assuming KoolBlue was a rare kind of hot mess at that age, too, just without any funds to maximize the mess and make it grow lol...
