Because I'm a nerd who likes lists, I thought I would list the name changes.

I may have got some wrong and some may have been changed via PMs so I wouldn't have seen them. If I've made a mistake or left you out, let me know and I'll update.

Yes, it's an outstanding idea to give up 3 1sts + more and a probably a huge new contract extension (he'd almost surely make that part of his agreement to waive his no-trade clause) for a guy who may very well miss at least a season and who still could have legal issues that could potentially land him in prison. So at best, by the time he steps on the field for you in 2023 you'll have no clue if he's still the same player.

Oh yeah, well tell that to Reuben Foster because ohhhhhh.....

I wanted to date Cindy Crawford when I was growing up and I was obsessed with her.  Just wasn't in the cards.

It's nice to be obsessed with football and to want to play 20 years.  Good for him.  But things don't always work out the way we want them to.

of course the difference being Wilson spent years cultivating his talent and letting his obsession drive him to be his best regardless of his physical limitations and apparently it's still driving him even after his success.

I'm guessing you just looked at a poster of Cindy Crawford and said "Man, I would love to date her" lol...(as we all did)

Isnt Florida where they ran a third candidate with a similar name to confuse voters?  I’d say investigators will surely notice that cheating has become a pattern, but as we’ve learn recently, there is no accountability.  Our democracy hinges on custom and propriety, because the powerful have ensured that they’re never really held accountable for anything.

I wouldn't say there's no accountability in Florida politics since the DOJ has gone after Joel Greenberg and associates and the sham candidate stuff is also on the docket...I would guess that any political investigation would want to get those lower on the power scale to provide info that leads to higher ups. But like you said, the powerful have ways to ensure plausible deniability to shield themselves.

Prominent Florida political consultants may face criminal charges in sham candidate case

    https://www.tampabay.com/news/florida-politics/2022/01/05/prominent-florida-political-consultants-may-face-criminal-charges-in-sham-candidate-case/

Prosecutors appear to be targeting prominent Republican and Democratic operatives in Florida for potential criminal charges stemming from a 2020 Miami-Dade election scheme marked by sham candidates, court records reveal.

Those targets: Alex Alvarado, a Republican consultant; Dan Newman, a prominent Democratic fundraiser; Richard Alexander, the chairman of the dark-money group Grow United; and Let’s Preserve the American Dream, a Tallahassee-based nonprofit run by Ryan Tyson, a top GOP pollster in Florida.

Each has been sent what is known by prosecutors as a “prior to” letter, which generally precedes criminal charges in a case. The existence of the letters were included in a document filed in circuit court late last month by the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office.

Usually, these letters are sent to the targets of a state or federal investigation to notify them that they could face criminal charges in the future or to give them a chance to present their side of the story, legal experts say.

The document also confirmed the existence of statements from Tyson and prominent GOP research firm Data Targeting Inc.’s chief financial officer, Lance Gardner, as well as bank records from Let’s Preserve the American Dream.

“It is not a good sign for anybody to get a ‘prior to’ letter,’’ said Alex Fox, a Miami criminal defense attorney and former state prosecutor. “The threat of an indictment, as signaled through a target letter or ‘prior to letter’ can be strong leverage for the government to convince targets to cooperate and hopefully, lessen their own exposure.”

Sasse: January 6 Was ‘Shameful Mob Violence,’ Not ‘Legitimate Political Discourse’

Nebraska GOP senator Ben Sasse issued a brief statement in response to the censure: “January 6th was not ‘legitimate political discourse’ and I’ll say it again: It was shameful mob violence to disrupt a constitutionally-mandated meeting of Congress to affirm the peaceful transfer of power.”

Following Sasse’s statement, a spokesman for the Republican National Committee sent me this statement from RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel:

To justify McDaniel’s claim that the January 6 committee is engaging in “persecution of ordinary citizens who engaged in political discourse that had nothing to do with violence at the Capitol,” the RNC spokesman sent me this Federalist article titled “Only 10 Percent Of J6 Committee Subpoenas Relate To The Capitol Riot.”

Get the **** out of here with that **** lol...the GOP is in industrial-strength spin mode. Hoping that's a sign that the walls are starting to close in.

What about the player we didn't get because we overreached for a stiff QB in Haskins? So missing on a QB did not set us back but not drafting a QB the past 2 drafts has set us back???? Regardless of who made the call to select Haskins it still cost us a better player.

Unless that player was Su'a Cravens, pt. 2 lol...

    Not a great look.

Also adds to some of the reason Snyder may have targeted him.

Not sure I want to judge Rivera based on this article… because he seems to be a great guy based on all accounts… but this is something to wonder about for sure…

    Not good.

I doubt it’s a reflection of how Rivera views women or sexual harassment, more likely a rare lapse of judgement. At least that’s what I told myself when I first read about it lol…he doesn’t have a track record of anything like this—quite the opposite—but if the claims against Snyder are 13 years ago I could see him taking the same perspective of “I don’t know anything about that. I just know how good he has been to the coaches and players.”

Ron Rivera defends decision to use disgraced Panthers owner as rallying cheer

Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson announced earlier this month that he’ll be selling the team he founded, just hours after a thoroughly reported Sports Illustrated story was published detailing years of sexual harassment, by Richardson toward team employees.

At least four employees agreed to “significant” monetary settlements because of Richardson’s behavior toward them, including one former team scout at whom Richardson directed a racial slur.

But Panthers coach Ron Rivera is sticking by the disgraced owner.

During his postgame speech to players on Sunday, after Carolina clinched a playoff berth with a win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Rivera told players, “Just remember guys, this is about team. Everything we do is about team. The most important thing is about team, OK? All right, do me a favor – ‘Mr. Richardson’ on three. 1-2-3!”

…on Tuesday, Rivera defended his decision to use the disgraced owner as a rallying cry.

“What I’ve always said is I know nothing about that. I can only speak for what he has been to me and the players,” Rivera said Tuesday. “And that’s why I did it.”

(Loose translation: I’ve never been sexually harassed, so who cares?)

Numerous women allege that on Fridays, when employees at the team facility can wear jeans, the owner would walk through the office and ask women to turn around so he could admire their rear end and says things like, “Show me how you wiggle to get those jeans up.”

I hope Ron realizes and accepts that his esteemed reputation in league is also operating as a PR shield for Snyder, and that he quits. That would be a tremendous blow to Dan.

He was coach under Richardson...and lead the team in a cheer for Richardson when the owner had both sexual harassment claims against him and used a racial slur against a black scout.
