No. The Eagles should at least make it nfc championship game. Who in the nfc will challenge them.

Minny. You really trust Kirk ?

GB if they make playoffs are a quick exit.

SF? They are .500 and likely won’t repeat what they did last year.

    LA- doubtful.

TB- Tampa will be a quick playoff exit. Tom will regret ever coming back.

NY- doubt the Giants beat them in the playoffs.

Dallas- they may be the only team that stops. Will need to see the rematch with Dak first.

As much as it sucks; Eagles seem in a good position to make a run.

This post will not age well.  It's already starting to rot.

It happened in the early morning so it could have been as simple as a lack of sleep mixed with the stress/anxiety of missing his flight, being stuck on the road, and realizing how crazy people in Florida drive once he started walking.

People in Florida don't drive any crazier than drivers in DMV.  Pretty much anywhere in the civilized world is going to have erratic drivers when there is a person walking across lanes of traffic on a highway.

  3. What an amazing career.  I'm glad that I had the opportunity to see it and watch him play.  Twenty years from now, the kids of today and those yet to come are only going to be able to look at highlights.  They won't be able to see and be part of the magic of witnessing a 25 point come back in the second half of a Super Bowl.  We are lucky we could be here to see the GOAT play!

The traveling benches show that Dan Snyder is still slithering around despite his "probation" by the NFL. And Ron claims the benches were a surprise last week in Philadelphia. He had no idea the team was going to copy the Cowboys troll on Washington.

So WHO is actually picking the QB?

Dan has been involved in ALL the QB decisions starting with Jeff George.

Again, that's why I don't trust this team to get the QB situation right.

... And having a franchise quarterback, fixes a lot of our problems.

Very true.  However, who do we have that you trust to make the call on who to pick at QB?  I don't know that there is a single person in Ashburn that I trust to make the correct call, draft or FA.

  6. The true problem is us, the fans.  Primarily, the fans that get sucked in time and time again, season after season, thinking that somehow, someway, despite all odds and facts to the contrary, this season will be different.  A mediocre coach whose previous records aren't really much to brag about (let's be honest; we wouldn't be worried or intimidated if Ron had been hired by a division opponent) is not going to be a miraculous savior here.  No matter how many times we see the exact movie play here the past two plus decades, some keep expecting the ending to change.  Until the fans stop getting their hopes up and having undeserved expectations, we will have threads like this, because those hopes and expectations lead to the frustrations and the pains that push fans to start these threads.  Nothing, I mean nothing, that this team has done in the past decade is reason for fans to think things are going to change.  It is beyond depressing, but it is the truth.

If we want real change for this organization, it needs to start with us.  Stop falling for the same bull**** every year.  Stop purchasing team gear, tickets, etc. Stop calling into the radio shows.  Stop watching any of the junior high quality produced TV shows.  Hell, stop watching the games.  All of the numbers all around need to dip, and dip badly.  The CBA makes it tough for Snyder to feel a pinch from lack of ticket sales for games, but lack of merch sales, ratings drops on radio and television, those numbers can't be hidden from sponsors and the league, and that will hit Snyder's wallet.  That's when we will start to see signs of true change: hiring innovated coaches, not re-treads and college coaches with no NFL experience; true talent evaluators/GM hires; complete draft selections and FA acquisitions that are true needs and value, etc.; and Snyder staying the **** away from all team operations (including his wife).  Until we see ALL of that, there is no reason to think things will be different.

Yes. Those are 2 practice reps from high school.

That ****tard is getting torn up with the comments. Hahahaha!

Any team that signs him and that includes the Pats will regret it. He has lost a step. He will be 43 by the time season starts. He’s going to see father time pay him visit in 2020.

I can see him play so poorly late in the season that he will be benched.

Brady put up great numbers last year with nothing to help him as far as a receiving core or TE, and a rotating MASH unit to block for him.  If he lost a step, he still has to lose a couple more to be on par with the average QB's in the league.  If he is signed to a team with a legit #1 WR, a healthy o-line, and a pass-catching TE threat, he will win his division pretty easily and be in the conference championship.

I think his point was that this thread is more for coaches on the hot seat/who get fired rather than GMs on the hot seat/who get fired.

That woukd be a good idea for a thread though :) or i suppose this one could turn into both coaches AND GMs on the hot seat?

If anything, it should be the latter.  This thread is titled, "The Race to Black Monday," which signifies firings of all positions around the league, not just coaches.  That certainly includes GM's.

Interesting, initial reports (and from multiple sources) had Al Saunders as interim HC. Wonder where they got that info.....presumptuous or he didn't want it? I would've loved to see him in that post.

btw, is Wilford Brimley still coaching the OL in Cleveland?

They just got confused on which former Redskins coordinator was getting it. :)

Did Westy even show up when the eagles destroyed the giants? I thought he comes around if they win....

He may actually be smart enough to know that beating the Giants is the equivalent to stealing candy from a baby.  To brag about it makes the bragger out to be a complete asshole, because no one likes to hear about the mentally handicap being taken advantage of.  I'm probably giving him too much credit though.  He is an Eagles fan after all, and a cowardly one at that.

Colts fans should be happy that the young ego from New England spared them this huge mistake. They'll be much better off with someone else as HC. McDaniels is bad news.

Actually, it is quite the opposite.  As I said earlier in this thread, JM would have been a fool to take that job.  The Colts are the worst run franchise in the league.  Any coach would fail there at this point.  Ego has nothing to do with it.  JM never officially accepted the job; it couldn't legally be offered to him until after the SB.  When it was, he declined it.  Belichick is going to mentor him, most likely to take over the Pats when Bill retires in a couple of years.  Josh will be a much better HC his second time around, and will be part of an organization that knows how to win and is one of the most competently run in league history.  He would have been a fool not to take advantage of the opportunity he has been given.

I wouldn't necessarily say that ... Pete Carroll didn't start sustaining success in the NFL until his third try

Pete Carroll had some success, especially with the Pats, and then had a lot of success at USC, showing some growth.  Even at the Jets, he didn't create a dumpster fire like McDaniel did in Denver.  Tebow will be a huge stain on his resume unless he can achieve a lot of success at his next stop.

Giants expected to hire pat shurmur. I don't know much about him, but since he'll be coaching for the giants, I wish him the worst :)

also, @Taylor 36, Titans won't be getting josh mcdaniels. nfl.com is reporting that the colts are expected to hire him as their next head coach. so I guess he's a fool ;)

If all these are true, that puts us at:

    Giants: Pat Shurmur

Colts: Josh McDaniels (expected to hire him when the patriots season ends)

    Raiders: Jon Gruden

    Bears: Matt Nagy

Lions: Matt Patricia (expected to hire him when the patriots season ends)

leaving us with only two head coach openings, the cardinals and the titans.

If he goes there, he truly is a fool.  This will be his second go around, and after his failure in Denver, a second failure will all but guarantee he won't be sniffed as a HC again.  The Colts have failure written all over them.

  16. All of this talk about Belickick leaving NE is crazy.  Even if there is some merit to the BSPN article, he's not going anywhere.  Hell, he and Brady and Kraft are the type of guys that will agree to continue to work together to spite the haters.  McDaniels knows he's not getting the Pats job because it won't be available.  He's probably eyeing the Tennessee job and will be named their HC within a day or two of NE's season ending, assuming that they get in their token minority interview to satisfy that joke of a Rooney Rule before NE's season ends.

He'd be a fool to consider Indy.  That team is a joke, and Luck was overrated before the injuries.

Marvin Lewis gets a 2 year extension, continuing to make Jeff Fisher wish he was a Bengals HC. How he's still around is unbelievable.

    https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/bengals-give-coach-marvin-lewis-2-year-extension-010218

It is completely amazing how he still has a HC job, never mind that job.  He is 0-7 in the playoffs after 15 seasons and his teams are constantly undisciplined.  It is ridiculous.  I wish I could be half as incompetent at my job and keep it, along with getting paid a fortune to have it.  Sheesh!!!
