They finally responded to my email and said that the same seats will be offered back to me in 2021. Supposedly a new email will be sent soon. -ct

There is one big thing that the first email does not mention. If you choose to defer (credit or refund), will the same seats be offered back to you? I have emailed twice about this and have not gotten any response. It seems logical, but I don’t want to assume anything. Has anybody received any sort of clarification on this? -ct

Take it a step further. Everyone knows that the largest portion of revenue that teams receive is from television contracts. So when you watch games of any team, show interest in the NFL, posting to a messageboard on the Redskins website, or talking about the NFL on Facebook, you are increasing tv ratings or just generally showing that you have interest in the league. This causes the TV networks to pay more money. Therefore, you are lining Snyder's pockets and are also part of the "problem."

Take it a step further. Would any food discount entice a renewal or create a new STH? That is their purpose. There is no doubt in my mind that these discounts have a large cost on a macro level, but on the individual or micro level they are just a big yawn. Take the best one, a bottomless soda for $6. Outside of a concessions environment, that is a terrible deal. And take the SF example of making some food free to STH. Is there any standard concessions item at FedEx (or any stadium) that is anything above concessions quality? If there is, I haven't had it. So that is no enticement to me. In my opinion, high concession food prices only deter people from attending. The STH "discounts" only make the prices less high.

I received an email too saying that I will get my ticket package tomorrow. But to clarify one thing, the email did not come from the Redskins. I signed up for FedEx Delivery manager and the email came through that.

i agree with this completely. Actually, following the NFL at all contributes as every team gets a significant piece of the national money. Watching any game theoretically increases the ratings for the league which Snyder gets a piece of. Posting here or on Facebook or anywhere shows Interest in the team and the league. That interest is used by the league when negotiating rights fees. It is the hard and sad truth that anything you do relative to the league puts money into the pockets of Snyder, Jones, Mara, Kraft (and by extension his prostitutes), Luria, and all of the other owners. So if you really want to stick it to Snyder, treat the NFL the way the majority of this country treats soccer. Anything else is just a half measure.

Maybe I am a pessimist, but I see disaster coming. When this was an option, I called and asked if they would have printers at the gates to give stubs to people saying where their seats are. They said that they were still considering it. Still considering it??? Think about all of the times that someone (WITH A PRINTED TICKET IN HAND) has mistakenly gone to the wrong seats? I have never witnessed when this was not an honest mistake, but still. If there is no stub, how often do you think this will happen now? Having stub printers seemed like a no brainer to me. But even if they have stub printers, what other corners have been cut? I see this being the future when everything is digital and there is no paper. But you have to do this correctly. -ct (trying not to be the old man shaking his fist at clouds...)

Is it easy? Do dream seat fans have a contract with the Redskins guaranteeing them those seats for a number of years? Is there any sort of clause for the removal of the seats? The Redskins couldn't simply re-locate them to the Club level without consent. Those fans paid to be right beside the field. There could be other factors. The point is that a few questions would have to be answered before anything could happen. And depending on those questions and answers, it might not be easy.

The FAQ has changed. It now says: Will I receive physical tickets in the mail? We will not be automatically sending out physical versions of our tickets this year. Instead, we have implemented digital ticketing for all of our home games. For the 2018 Season, you will have the option receive physical tickets in addition to having access to digital tickets via your My Redskins Account. I expect them to go full digital in 2019.

Now according to the February 2018 Season Ticket Member E-Newsletter, digital ticketing is optional. If true, that would have been nice to include in the FAQ.

Why would future and potential PSLs (which we have only speculation about) affect your 2018 decision? If that happens in ~8 years, that obviously affects that future decision.

Did you receive an email beforehand?

No idea. I have always picked mine up the day they were delivered.

If this is convenient or possible for you, there is an alternative to the front porch scenario. When I get the email with the tracking number, I just have the package delivered to a FedEx Office location near my house. That way, I don't have to worry about them sitting on my front porch. It has worked like a charm for two years now. -ct

Parking went up to $50 a game ($500 for the full season).

Instead of hoping that the tickets are still on my front door when I get home, I have the delivery location changed to a FedEx Office location (which just happens to be 1.5 miles from my house). That way FedEx has them in their control until I pick them up. I don't have to worry that someone will steal them this way. If something does happen before I get them, FedEx is 100% to blame. If you have a worry and a FedEx Office is located near you, I recommend this.

Thanks for quoting just the first three words in my post and backing it up with your purely anecdotal example. Since your four seats were not sold, I stand corrected even though I allowed for that in my post. But you wouldn't know that if you didn't read past the first three words . . .

That is wrong because you have forgotten about the additional seats sales. Many, if not all, good and available seats are probably gone already. It is impossible to entice people back to their seats if they have been resold. I had to call the ticket office anyway and asked them about the upgrade program while I was on the phone with them. The TO lady acknowledged that they are really late in starting the program and that they have not been told when it will start. She guessed it would be in the next few weeks. Take that guess with a pinch of salt. -ct

The option to buy additional tickets ended last Friday. Hopefully, we will hear something on upgrades this week. -ct

Are they? I have been wondering about this. Allen said that they are eliminating the standing room. Did he say that all will be eliminated? From what I read that he said, there was no differentiation between SRO in the upper deck and club level. Was he just talking about SRO in the upper level? I assume that they are adding club seats where the band was. I have a hard time believing that they will be adding more club seats in the other endzone too since they appear to be a tough sell. -ct

I cannot cite a specific reg off the top of my head, but there is no way you would be allowed to claim a deduction for the donation of property at twice what you paid for it.

Besides last year, when was an enticement offered for renewal and what was it? -ct

In Virginia, they are called admissions taxes, but substantively they are the same thing. Six one way, half dozen the other . . . -ct

I should have said every game ticket sold. The tax is imposed on the sale of admission to an event with the price being the base. If the ticket is given away free of charge, the base is zero and thus, no tax. -ct
