Has the MD starting lineup EVER had a worse game? 9-37 from the field.

Very troubling loss for the Hoyas. Got handled by a team that is good, but shouldn't be that much better than the Hoyas.
I have always been a JTIII supporter, but if this team misses the tourney, it is time for the Hoyas to move on.
JTIII is a nice guy who runs a clean program (so far as we know) and is a decent coach. If Georgetown wants to be relevant on the big time basketball scene they need a new coach. I don't think that is their goal.

You're right that setup works if you don't like sports but if you do you can't cut the cord
Not exactly. There are plenty of sports options on the add-ons to Kodi. Finding them in HD is another story. I watched MNF the other night in spanish because it was the best feed. And if you like soccer there are 100s of games from every league every day. Few in HD.
-
I do not have cable for my downstairs TV, so I figured I would start the "cut the cord" experiment down there. I just bought Amazon Fire TV, which I love. Downloaded Kodi and am blown away by the potential.
In essence, for $190 (Amazon Fire TV and Prime) I instantly have 90% of cable (including premiums). If you factor in the expanse of the Kodi add-ons, I have something that exceeds cable by miles. The Holy Grail seems to be finding live HDTV (I already have the networks via antenna).
I cannot understand why everyone doesn't do this.

Hearing it is a hurricane now with the possibility of being a Cat2 or stronger
National Center for Atmospheric Research compiled the 19 tracks of the storm, 14 go over DC. 17 have it being a Cat2 when it gets in range. I think we are getting hit.

Edsall is gone. The big money donors are revolting, fan support is horrible right now.
The only goal at this point is to keep (and add to) the recruiting class right now.
If you say so, I don't know. I tend not to listen to Coach firing talk until I start hearing the name of a realistic successor. And I mean a big name, because MD has reach the potential level to quit hiring "rising stars".
Edit: I'll throw a name out there. Mike Tice. Someone who is an easy sell to kids and Alumni.

Top 5 according to who rivals - 24/7 !
I came name a few area Qb's who are better then Haskins.
Money and politics got him where he is at.
Really no point in debating the worth of a HS QB. He is good, big and fast, and chose MD over Bama, FSU and others. Let's not start the hating just yet.
-
Lacrosse too, right? AD is responsible to the overall athletic program. But we do know football drives the boat. ..and if you screw that up bad enough all the other stuff becomes even less relevant to the fan base.
True, and if you can't find a QB who can throw the ball in this era of college football you cannot win. Next year the Terps have a top 5 QB coming in after making do for 10 years. Unless Edsall is despised by his players, unless he is covering up grade issues and discipline issues, unless Kevin Plank comes forward and stops the money stream, I don't see how he can be fired. And I also don't see how not firing Edsall is a bad mark on the entire athletic program.
-
Would you say maryland has a pretty solid overall athletic program?
Anyone still bashing Anderson is stuck in 2010, overall it is certainly top 20 in the nation. Football certainly gets much of the press, but men's basketball, baseball and soccer are top 15 programs.
-
Truth is Haskins can't get here fast enough. MD hasn't had a decent QB since McBrien and you simply cannot win without one. Edsall is going to get this year and 2 more IMO. His recruiting is starting to shape up and it would be a mistake to change course.

My Penn State fandom is well known. The B1G is completely unbalanced. I mean, Michigan, historically, is going to be up more than they're down. Penn State is on the road to recovery. The argument could be made that historically, Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State are three of the four most successful programs in the conference, with Nebraska being the 4th. And all three are in the East. Plus Michigan State, who has decided to be super-relevant recently. And hey, if Maryland ever gets their movement act together, their local area is a hotbed of talent.
The West is basically a two team race every year between Wisconsin and Nebraska.
Michigan has to play OSU and MSU every year, so they were put together. MD, Rutgers and PSU are geographic rivals. 3+3 = 6. I can see them changing this in years to come.

Hahahahaaaa!!! Well played.
Maybe, just maybe a little optimism will shine in College Park this season.
What gives me pause is knowing that MD has to out-recruit Penn State (and West Virginia) to be competitive in the league.
MD has already started usurping VT in local recruiting, WVU is next. I doubt the Terps will ever outrecruit PSU. MD joining the B10 is the worst thing that could have happened to VT and WVU. Once Beamer retires from VT, and it will be soon, MD is going to be rolling in local recruits.

....so ummm...what's the over/under on Wins for the program this fall?

Series could be over right now. 7 footer on the bench at the end. Wittman has been abysmal.

Sulaimon is an odd case. Maybe he just did not fit in at Duke or maybe he is a hardhead who did not listen or go to class. Kryszewski never said much about it, but being the 1st player to be dismissed is not a badge of honor. I wouldn't touch him.
-
MD owned Georgetown historically and JT knew GT was MD's redheaded stepchild. When GT was good, they didn't want to chance losing to MD. MD owns them historically. Including the Joe Smith game. Pathetically scared.
While I am not a JT fan, he was the one that put GTown on the map. He never did anything that would not benefit his program and playing MD was of no benefit to him. Playing MD in 1993 was a move to resurrect the program and no one had a clue who Joe Smith was before that game. After the game, MD was on the map, and Gtown was officially back as the #2 area team.

May 31 deadline for 2016 Final Four (Houston) ticket applications.

In the last 21 years 7 teams have won the National Championship.
NCAA Men's is no different. 12 teams have won 41 of the last 50 titles.

Brave, please just assume I like all your posts. Thanks for driving this thread.
Not sure if this was linked somewhere, but has a look at some potential recruits coming down the pike.
Markelle Fultz is a kid that really stands out. Late blooming, uber athlete that is still growing and is a certain early 1st rounder if things progress as they should. Currently off the radar for some teams like Duke and Kentucky, but won't be for long.

I find it interesting that Diamond Stone is the "highest recruit ever" by MD when they have had so many All Americans and a National Player of the Year. Obviously there are some flaws in the evaluation process.

#Terps fans: MUST read. RT @bruce_arthur On the legend of @greivisvasquez at Maryland, where he remains deeply loved: http://www.thestar.com/sports/basketball/2015/03/28/for-greivis-vasquez-his-time-in-maryland-was-nirvana-arthur.html
LOVED Vasquez. He was much like Walt Williams in the respect that they were basically the only guys on the team and were unstoppable. Both were 2nd team AA and both should have been 1st team.

Dez is not a bad passer. He simply doesn't read the floor well.
He commits to a bad choice.
I realize we are saying kind of the same thing. He limits his options is what I am saying, because he zeroes in on a slasher or a wing.
Sometimes he should commit to the drive to get the foul.
He has decent size and is strong as they come.
I said it in an earlier post, I wish he had better handles. I think he needs to be much more consistent too though.
He needs to shoot about a million NBA 3's over the next few months. He really needed to look more for the 3 at Maryland.

Considering Coach Huggins undoubtedly is the reason his daughter is employed by the school, yeah he has to say something.
The school probably can't stand her and this gives them a great reason to part ways. And Huggins won't do anything about it. What a black eye on really good win.

Wvu outmatched them clearly.
WVU outmatched a team that goes 7 deep at best, when their point guard missed 1/2 the game, and still it wasn't a blowout. No slight to WVU, but MD upgrades at nearly every position and bench next year.

At the end of all this, Haskins has done a service to MD by helping them recruit. If he goes to OSU he will have also created a rivalry. I have a hard time condemning an 18 year old who is faced with a million dollar decision.
