It almost smells like BS. Always have one of your best players out with a long term, mysterious injury, keep losing and get high draft picks.
-
If John Wall stays healthy and plays like he did toward the end of last season, it's good to lock him up.
-
What's the record of the Wiz when they both have Wall and Beal in the same lineup? It has to be pretty decent. I think that's a better indicator of how good this team is. Losing now doesn't hurt that much anyway, we get more ping pong balls. If Wall and Beal can stay healthy next year and they luck into a good player in the next draft, they can be decent.
-
Wall is trying too hard because he wants to be an all-start but just isn't good enough for that. The guy can't shoot and the other teams know it. He's a 16 points / 8 assist guy which isn't bad but Wall is trying to play beyond that and he can't. Maybe he's seeing how good Beal is becoming and is feeling pressured to be as good. He needs to give up on that and just be a solid point guard.

Is Beal ok? It looked like he could have re-injured his wrist.
Love how the Wiz are playing. The last time I could say that was....uh?

With Wall back, this has been an enjoyable team to watch. I'm not demanding they win a championship this year, just don't be the worst team in the NBA. Looking forward to getting Beal back.
-
Jan had a nice game but he won't be worth much unless he learns to create his own shot. Teams can easily adjust to what he did last night. Getting 8-10 points per night off dishes isn't worth someone in his draft position.
Beal and Wall looks like an awesome backcourt. There is hope.

I'll admit Crawford can play well if his minutes are limited. When he gets a lot of minutes, he feels he can do whatever he wants and he acts stupid at times. When his minutes are more limited, he makes he sure he plays more team basketball so he can stay out there.
-
I don't think it's a coincidence that Crawford has been out the last two gams and the Wizards won both. Teams don't with in this league with shot chuckers.
Also, Vesely stinks. I'm not sure why that is even up for debate. He can go back to Europe.

Crawford had a damn good game tonight and is having a pretty good year.
If you think that's all Crawford does then you haven't been watching the games.
Crawford jacks up too many bad shots. He's better than he used to be about doing that but there are times when his brain turns off and the bad shots happen.
But it looks like he's maturing though, he's much better about it this year. Maybe in time...

When I was at the game last night, I saw four straight plays where Beal ran straight to the corner in three point land and just stood there. You could tell by his body language he hated every second of it. He seems really good when he is driving and dribbling around to create his shot but Randy like to park him in one spot.

Like Destino, I'm concerned with Beal's 3 PT %. It would be typical Wizards to spend the 3rd pick on a long range shooter to complement Wall, and he can't shoot long range shots.
Beal looks pretty decent when he's not camped out beyond the arc though. How long will it be be before the Wiz stop trying to make a 3 PT shooter out of someone who can't and let them play to their strengths?

For PER, league average is 15. Here's Hollinger's breakdown:

By the way' date=' in reading the article I'm concerned that he doesn't seem to know exactly what his injury is. This has been so vague from the beginning that I wonder if there isn't a certain amount of guesswork going on.[/quote']
I think Ted and the Wiz are being disingenuous about Wall's injury, trying to persuade people it's not bad so they won't be freaked out about buying season tickets, although I'm not sure who would by season tickets, the tickets are so much cheaper on the secondary market.

Yeah I really don't like this part:
Not a matter of a broken bone healing now. That answers my earlier question as to why he took longer to heal in this day and age. He didn't. The bone healed but he's got another knee issue and I really do not like the sound of it.
I'm not a doctor but cartilage issues at his age is an awful sign. You can get microfractur surgery to help some that has limited benefits (if what my doctor told me is true).
-
JaVale is without a doubt the dumbest basketball player ever. His highlight plays are priceless!
-
Was it ever said what caused John Wall's knee issues?
-
Crawford looked like the old Crawford, chucking up all sorts of shots. It looked like he was moving away from that this year. Maybe his agent told him he needed to get his scoring average up.
-
Nets trade for Williams and Johnson and now they are a playoff team. I can be done EG, you just don't know how.
-
5 game packages start at an amazing low price of just $99 per seat. Sorry Ted, stubhub may just have you beat.
-
Beal better become a lights-out shooter because all he does is camp out behind the 3 pt line and wait for someone to feed him the ball.
I think when Wall gets back, this team can start winning games. They may still not be playoff material but they will be able to handle some of the weaker teams.
-
I think Vessely may be one of the worst draft picks in the history of the NBA. Although the Mike Miller and Randy Foye debacle is right up there.
-
The Wiz are 3rd in the league in 3PT attempts and they are tied for last in 3PT%. If the 3PT game is their strategy, they obviosly chose the wrong players. Imagine that.
-
I think the hope was EG would surround Wall with some talent so he could grow and have the desire to stay here. EG has done the opposite, this team is full of garbage.
If I were Wall, I would have a giant calendar in my house so I could mark off the days to become a free agent.

I just want Beal/Wall/Porter to stay healthy. The wins will take care of themselves at that point.
