  1. Totally agree with you guys, awesome fight between nog and randy. Easliy fight of the night. Randy is nutty at 46 fighting like that, but Nog clearly won the fight. I was really disappointed in the Maia/Marquardt fight. Thought that would challenge for FOTN and it ended in 10 seconds. Oh well. Hope Maia can rebound.

  2. http://www.cagepotato.com/karo-parisyan-return-suspension-against-hazelett-ufc-106

That's gonna be a good matchup for both guys.

With his nine-month suspension for painkiller use winding down, Karo Parisyan is ready to get his career back on track. The welterweight veteran will be returning to the Octagon at UFC 106 (November 21st, Las Vegas) against 23-year-old submission artist Dustin "McLovin" Hazelett. Parisyan's last appearance was in January at UFC 94, where he scratched out a split-decision win against Dong Hyun Kim; the result was changed to a no contest following Parisyan's positive test for Hydrocodone, Hydromorphone, and Oxymorphone. Before that, the Heat suffered a TKO loss against Thiago Alves in April 2008, meaning that he hasn't scored a legitimate win since his unanimous decision over Ryo Chonan at UFC 78. Hazelett is coming off back-to-back victories (and back-to-back Submission of the Night bonuses) thanks to his acrobatic armbars against Josh Burkman and Tamdan McCrory, but he hasn't competed since last November due to injury. So whose grappling will be stronger? And whose ring rust will be rustier?

  3. Lol, wish I could man but this is retarded. When the belt is on the line you've gotta stop smoking and pass a drug test.

From what I read, he had a standing agreement with the cali athletic commission to be tested on the day of his fight only. He apparently has a prescription for MJ, and that agreement allows him to flush out his system for two weeks prior to the fight. However, they changed their minds for this fight and he was supposed to come in early, which of course, would cause him to fail the test.

  4. Maybe its just me' date=' but every time Takeya Mizugaki fights, Frank Mir spends the entire 3 (or 5) rounds talking about how good the other fighter looks. Does mir have something against him?[/quote']

I totally agree. My girl and I were getting pissed at how he was saying Curran was winning the fight while getting controlled on his back. We had no preference for either fighter, but we started rooting for Mizugaki after Mir kept being so biased. Gotta say though, the move Curran used to put Mizugaki in that triangle at the end was brilliant.

  5. Well I just got up after drinking a whole lot of alcohol last night. Damn good card. I am very much a "respect your opponent" kind of person, so Brock will never be a favorite in my book. However, there is no denying that he is a monster and could be HW champ for a while. I'd love to see a Fedor fight with him, that would be a dream matchup right now. I'd like to see Brock fight Carwin right now. He's the only one that I think can stun him enough to knock him down, although I think Mir stunned him with that knee, but ended up with Lesnar on top of him and it gave him time to recover.

I was SOOOOOOOOO happy to see Bisping get KTFO by Hendo. My girl and I saw it coming in the middle of the 1st round. He started circling to his left and we both said that if he kept doing it it would be a matter of time before Hendo connected it.

I agree that there is not much competition left in the WW division for GSP. I imagine he'll stay there for another year or so until they can time a fight with Silva. It will probably be the last fight on Silva's contract provided he stays undefeated in the UFC.

  6. Pretty happy today.. my girl and her magical talents was able to talk Comcast into giving us UFC 100 for free. Can't wait for this weekend now.

    I'll do my picks now.

    Lesnar over Mir

Alves over St. Pierre (Upset Pick)

    Henderson over Bisping

    Fitch over Thiago

    Akiyama over Belcher

  7. I'm surprised Diego didn't finish that fight in the first round. He had Guida rocked a couple times in that round. Great fight. Overall card was good. Wilks looks really good. Very technical and has both standing and ground game. He may rise quickly. UFC 100 next...should be good.

  8. Finally got a chance to watch the WEC yesterday. Man, they put on some great cards. I hope they don't go PPV, but I can understand it if they do.

Jose Aldo is a beast...I still can't believe he hit him with both knees. I've never seen anything like that before.

Unfortunately, Mike Brown is just too big for Faber. However, I believe Faber earned another shot at the title by fighting for almost 4 rounds with one hand. I would give him another shot after Aldo.

The flying triangle was awesome...so glad they showed it.

  9. I'm taping the fights tonight and watching them with the WEC card tomorrow night so here are my WEC picks:

Faber. No knock on Brown. Brown is a great fighter. I just see Faber taking this one. Probably see a trilogy at that point.

Aldo over Swanson. I expect this one to be a great fight. Aldo gets the edge.

    Cerrone wins.

Pulver gets back on track. I don't know much about Grispi, but I know that I don't want to see Pulver keep losing.

I didn't realize Cowboy was fighting. He's one of my favorite fighters. Can't wait for that one now.

Such a good weekend for MMA fans!
