On another note, because I follow NY baseball, I catch a lot of their sports coverage of the NY teams.  Man are they hyped about Toney.    Commenting on it here since we spent plenty of time on him.  He, Rondale Moore, and J. Chase seem to be killing it.

They seemed to hate the pick up until the past week.  Prior to that he hadn't done much except have sideline blowups and complain on social media about not getting targets/playing time.

OK guys. I'm trying my best to be objective, but undoubtedly some of my bias will shine through. I think TH can have a good game this week. First, as others have pointed out the Chiefs defense has not exactly been setting the world on fire.

I saw a tweet this week talking about the Chiefs' D.  It said something about the Chief's D giving up more yards per play than the Ram's "greatest show on turf" offense averaged.  So, the implication is that an average offense should look like the Greatest show on turf when they play KC.

Also, I think I read that TH has more 20+ yard pass plays than Mahomes has had so far this year.  That is obviously a statistical fluke, but I do think the WFT and TH will have chances for a lot of big offensive plays.

  3. I have been looking forward to this game all week.  I hated that all the NFC East teams played at the same time 2 weeks ago.  I try to follow all the NFC East games, so I much prefer that at least one of the teams has a prime time game.  I really hope this isn't a letdown game for the Bucs.

If I was a stud hacker, I would try to hack some Eagles defensive backs account and make some lewd comments about how Tom is too old to get an erection and that Giselle should head to the Philly locker room after the game if she wants a real man.

I kind of feel like that would be enough to eliminate the chances of an upset.

  4. I would advise the Jerry Jones method for finding franchise QBs.  It is hard to pull off due to the assets involved in the first few months, but it pays off for Decades.  The hard part is drafting 2 QBs with two straight number one overall picks in a period of less than 3 months.  So you can't even wait to see the first number one overall pick in training camp.  You have to give up the number one pick you will get the following season less than 3 months later in the supplemental draft.  At that point, you can go more than 30 years and never have to use a 1st rounder on QB.  For some reason, the football gods keep giving you franchise QBs without using much draft capital.  I think it is a glitch in fabric of reality... but it isn't cheating if it works.

  5. I was looking at stats on profootball reference.  It surprised me to see that the WFT has given up the fewest sacks in the NFL so far this year.  I have only seen highlights of the WFT games this year.  Is the pass blocking that good?  Or is it play calling?  TH mobility?  Early season statistical fluke (e.g. Cowboys D takeaways so far)?

Heyyyy man..🤮congrats..to 🤮 your cowboys 🤮..dak is.rolling... people have been laughing at me but since that week 1 game against Tampa I said the🤮cowboys were for real🤮 no belived me but there changing there minds now haha...in the nfc I got the bucs cardinals/rams 🤮cowboys in the running for a deep run into the playoffs...then there's that suprise team hmmmmm...

This has been a fun year so far.  The start they have had has been unexpected.  They held a lead on the road against the superbowl champs with 10 seconds left in their only loss so far.  They have two wins against otherwise undefeated teams, and a blow out against their division rival.  So far so good, but they have shown the ability to loose 5+ starters in any given week to injuries, suspensions, and covid protocols.  The whole thing can come crashing down in a very short time.

Wait, how did they get three 1sts?  Carson Wentz is a 1st/2nd conditional.  Ooohhh yeah, Miami traded back up like a total dummy.

Ugh.  That's some ridiculous draft capital.  Wonder if that's the best ever.

Indy picked 1st and 2nd one year. That was pretty cool.

Weren't there reports of Smith not always showing good effort? If you add that to his speed issues I'd pass on him.

I really hope Khaleke Hudson takes this opportunity and shines.

No he wouldn't. He's literally Bostic without the IQ or leadership.

Smith is considered a pretty high effort, high character, and positive leadership guy.  He just couldn't stay healthy, and the Cowboys didn't want to risk having his salary guaranteed for next season, when they have better/younger options.

It looks like his best seasons are behind him.  He always made a lot of mistakes, but he had flashed streaks of good play for a few games here and there that made you think he could be pretty good.  However, it seems pretty unlikely that his physical abilities will allow him to turn the corner at this point.

I think he is still a player that can be an OK value on an inexpensive contract.  Heck, now that he has been cut and no longer has any guaranteed money, I wouldn't hate it if he resigned in Dallas for near the minimum.  The team still likes him, they just couldn't risk paying 9 million to a guy they don't expect to get starter snaps in the future.

  9. I see taulia tagovailoa of Maryland is playing tonight.  I didn't even know he existed until today.  I dont follow college football, but I do try to learn about various QBs.  I'm bored, so I will follow the game tonight.  Is he considered to be a potential pro?  Or just a college QB?

Has anyone heard rumors of Texans and dolphins being in talks for 3 1sts, 1 2nd, and two 3rds, for Watson, and then dolphins would likely trade tua to us for a 2nd and that Monday might be the day this happens? Not sure how credible this is

I can't imagine a haul like that for Watson unless the picks are conditional.  That is very high risk for someone facing the allegations Watson is facing.  Also, wouldn't it make sense for the Texans to want Tua in return?  Maybe they don't have any interest in him.

Not going to happen unless something happens to Dak.  His superior play thus far this season I feel is a result of me being happy during training camp, when there were rumblings that he wasn't going to be 100% this season, if at all.

I'm pretty happy with what I have seen from Dallas so far.  But I have become accustomed to expecting things to turn bad for Dallas in a hurry.  I have seen rookies like Zeek and Vander Esch dominate to the point they are named All-pro their first season... only to find out that was their peak, and show a rapid decline.  Best OL in the NFL one year, OL becomes a weakness the next.  Draft all-pro lineman... just to learn about a rare disease that ends his career a few years later.  Have the most accurate kicker of all time?  Wait 3 weeks and deal with every extra point feeling like a coin flip.

I enjoy it when Dallas looks good.  But I know that three weeks from now, they may look like complete trash.

  12. When I started watching the NFL in the early 80s, my favorite players were always RBs.  Of course, as a Dallas fan, it helped to go from Tony Dorsett, to Herschel Walker, to Emmitt Smith without any duds along the way.  I just reviewed the all time rushing yardage list.  With Peterson, Gore, McCoy, and Lynch not currently signed, there is no current NFL player that is in the top 50 all time in rushing yards. Talk about the end of an era.

I can't believe that Jags traded Henderson so soon and for such a questionable return.  I absolutely love that trade for Carolina.  I was a Henderson fan during his draft year and he and Horn will make up a super talented young CB tandem.

From what I read from Jags fans, Henderson had become disillusioned with football, and coaches had to go to his house to talk him out of retiring from football.  My guess is the low return for him suggests that him walking away from the game is still a possibility.

  14. I am looking forward to tonight's game.  I usually don't really care who wins between the WFT and the Giants, but I am rooting for the WFT tonight.  I especially want to see Washington force some turnovers from Daniel Jones, preferably with Chase Young beating Andrew Thomas.  I think the Giants are on the verge of blowing up the team and starting all over again with the rebuild.  Especially if their top ten picks continue to struggle.

I really hope the d line for Washington goes into this game with a huge chip on their shoulder after last week.  Also, the Giants' longest run last week was for 8 yards.  Saquan Barkley has averaged 8.1 yards per carry against the WFT in his 3 games against them.  I hope the WFT d line takes that personally, and comes out fired up.

Yup, great post.  The fact is that this team never gets the benefit of the doubt from the fans, because we have been burned time and time again.  The Chargers could very well be all world this year.  With that said, I'm not going to lie, I was pretty peeved about the way things started out on both side of the ball.  The defense looked utterly lost on Drive #1.

Watch how quickly opinions change if they win in convincing fashion on Thursday night.

Today sucked for you guys.  But, NY Giants are underdogs against WFT, and the Cowboys are underdogs against the Chargers.  If the favored teams win this week, there will be a huge change in the outlook on this season.

  16. This was one of those ok losses for me as a Cowboys fan.  The biggest question for me going in was if Dak could still run a high scoring offense.  He ended up doing better than I expected, but he also showed some sluggishness.  I did not expect Dallas to be in this game, so it was a pleasant surprise overall.  I could have done without the lead change in the last few seconds, but that is going to happen every now and then.
