goskins10
This guy is a straight up Scot kind of guy. Lunch pail blue collar let's get it done guy. As a Purdue fan I got to see him paly a few times and he a very accurate QB with a good head on his shoulders. Had he not gotten injured in 2014 he would have gone higher in the draft. Worst case he never works out. Ideally everything works for Kirk and we get a nice draft pick for Nate in a few years. But if things don't work out for Kirk, he could surprise. Nate has a lot of potential.
TheyAreBack
He is a 6th round pick - that relegates him to sitting down and learning for 2 or 3 years before he gets a chance at something other than being the 3rd option. His future value in the eyes of the coaching staff will be determined if he is protected with a roster slot or sent to the practice squad and exposed to selection from another team. Not sure what your point is here. Yes, he is a 6th rd pick. That's nothing we didn't know. We have a starting QB so yes, he will be sitting at least 3 yrs unless we have serious injury. As far as roster spot or practice squad, if he is signed off the PS then he has to be put on the 53 man roster. He is more likely to picked up off waivers on his way to the PS than getting signed off the PS. But that is also unlikely. While it does happen from time to time, there is kind of unwritten rule that you don't take guys off waivers at the start of the season as players are sent to the PS. They will likely give him a better than standard PS contract to make it more enticing for him to come back.
