Canadianfanforlife
I read that this guy is a little weak in pass protection. Don't know how true that is. If you fellas that watch college ball can confirm or refute that I would appreciate it. Yes, we need O-line guys but at the end of the day we should do our best to draft guys who can pass block seeing as how we have 1 of the worst lines in the NFL not to mention a pass happy HC. I'm pretty sure RG3 would agree. HTTR!!!

He will move to G, where he played in HS and when he first got to Iowa. He gets beat by a speed rush and quickness of the edge. Against good pass rushers he had trouble establishing a perimeter. At G though he is perfect and is expected to be an immediate starter. he is very much like Zach Martin out of Notre Dame last year that dallast took. However, taking a G at #5 is giving up too much value. As I stated elsewhere, one of our draft problems has been not getting full value for our picks. If we trade back and take Scherff at say 16 (more on that in a bit) but also pick up a few additional draft picks, then he is worth it, no problem. But if we pick at 5, we need one of the higher impact players. In this draft the top 5 to 7 players are the 2 QBs and several very very good DE/OLBs. I would take any of those at #5 and look at either FA or later in the draft for T. Back to why I say #16 for a trade. That is Houston. They could very well be interested. Bill O'Brien is taking over there. If one of the 2 QBs fall to 5 (not real likely but definitely possible), with the Jets behind us definitely wanting a QB, Houston may want to jump ahead. Then presto change, you have 2 people wanting the same player with us in the middle. We could even end up trading with the Jets in that case. If the QBs go off the board in the 1st 4 picks, the likelihood of us trading back diminishes tremendously. I am really looking forward to Scot Ms 1st draft. I will be interested to see the reaction to the players he picks. At least a few will be out of nowhere. I will be interested to see the reactions when he takes a guy no one heard of in the 4th rd when there are 20 players people want there. it should make for some good entertainment.
