Pete
Sittin in front of the computer, I noticed that the wind chimes were gettin a bit noisy out back, and there's been a little distant thunder. Walk out back and look to the east, and some clouds but nothing to talk about. I look west, and about 7 or 8 miles away, a nice sized funnel cloud dropping down. This isn't the type of tornado you worry about. Over water, and movin into the gulf. I think there called micro bursts. They are so cool to watch. A slow twisting dance, almost like a computer animation of sorts. Tailing off in one direction for the most part, but getting almost horizontal at times. It got thicker and thiner the entire time I watched, about 12 minutes. Had it been a bit later with the sun setting, I would have gotten the camcorder out. tex
Sort of like the dust devils we have here. Neat to watch. Here is a pic of one I found on the web. It looks like it was taken in my back yard.
Pete
Ya Tex, we get those here too. The one we got today is more on the lines of a real tornado in apearance. Well defined lines.
