Spurrier denied a Comcast SportsNet report that he considered resigning before the season but was talked out of it.

"You can't help what people say about you with rumors,'' Spurrier said. "It's certainly not true. That's not true. You have to stop listening to rumors. I remember when I first got to Florida, I was told, 'People are going to start saying things about you and writing things about you that aren't true.' Sure enough, that's what happened.

"We've got a good team. We just haven't played well yet. We've got to go try to win this game this week."
