SirClintonPortis
So Jason Campbell will have a great clutch rating in every game because his defense keeps it close and he will never do a thing to give the team a big lead. Sounds like garbage to me. The are two elements to this clutch rating: Clutch-weighted EPA and clutch-weighted average. The former describes proficiency, I think, and the latter describes how often the QB was in such a situation. Campbell's clutch-weight EPA was negative, so he was stinking it up in high pressure situations. This is a vicious cycle, since his inability to help his team score keeps the game close. Then, he faces even more of the same high pressure situations. Having a low clutch-weighted average is DESIRABLE if your team won. Besides, 86.4 looks very good in the old QBR. But 22.8 out of 100 looks horrible, and that is how Campbell played: horrible.
gchwood
Winning is the RESULT of the game. What a QB and other players do in the game leads to the result, not the other way around. The Saints might have lost to the Packers, but Brees does not deserve to have his stat brought down because of the defense or his receiver's lack of focus. That is exactly what happened to Kerry Collins. Yes, he did not play great, but it was his defense that gave up the 34 points.
