Harvard To Let ROTC Back On Campus

This is a result of the Don't Ask Don't Tell repeal.

It's an odd headline, given that Harvard never kicked ROTC students off campus in the first place. They decided not to fund ROTC activities/classes with university money, an important point -- but a group of ROTC students absolutely can be found amongst Harvard students. They're real Harvard students and real ROTC, attending in the good graces of the university; they appear at various Harvard ceremonies and other official events. They drill at MIT, and also take their ROTC classes there, along with ROTC from other area universities in a Boston-area ROTC coalition. And interestingly, they will continue to drill at MIT even after the Harvard "ban" is lifted.

This is more about university support (read: $$$) for the program, than "bringing ROTC back" to a place from which it never actually disappeared.

But it's about time.
