One of the reasons we wanted to get a new deal in place is that we actually have some spare cap room for this season, and if the above is true, we need to make sure we get maximun value from our cap. If I were in the front office, I would be looking for players who have high cap numbers in coming seasons that the team defo wants to keep and increase there wage for this year to lessen there impact on the cap in future years and give us room to manouver in coming seasons. Players who fall into this band include many of the guys we signed this off season, (Coles, Thomas, Morton etc) and Samuels, Jansen and Arrington. I wouldn't want us to waste a few million in cap room this year only to have to cut players in the future cos we are stuck for cap room! Any thoughts!
