TimmySmith
Immediately when people start their complaints of Zorn, they start bringing up Shanahan or Gruden. Perhaps even Grimm. Why? Mainly because we have been tricked into thinking that only offense will cure our needs. It's more of Snyder splash. Look at our past under Snyder. 2009 NFL Washington Redskins 2 3 0 Zorn 2008 NFL Washington Redskins 8 8 0 Zorn 2007 NFL Washington Redskins* 9 7 0 Gibbs 2006 NFL Washington Redskins 5 11 0 Gibbs 2005 NFL Washington Redskins* 10 6 0 Gibbs 2004 NFL Washington Redskins 6 10 0 Gibbs 2003 NFL Washington Redskins 5 11 0 Spurrier 2002 NFL Washington Redskins 7 9 0 Spurrier 2001 NFL Washington Redskins 8 8 0 Schottenheimer 2000 NFL Washington Redskins 8 8 0 Turner,Robiskie 1999 NFL Washington Redskins* 10 6 0 Turner 1998 NFL Washington Redskins 6 10 0 Turner One single defensive minded head coach for one year. And most can agree that he was the one guy who headed the team in the right direction. Both Marvin Lewis and Greg Williams had the rug pulled out from under them after they were essentially offered the HC in training job. Defensive coaches just are not flashy enough for Snyder. What do Mike Tomlin, Bill Belichick, Tony Dungy, and Tom Coughlin have in common? Superbowl winners with defensive minds. What do Rex Ryan, Mike Smith, Mike Singletary, John Harbaugh, Lovie Smith have in common? They would make the playoffs if the season were over right now. How about getting off the retread cycle. Finding a qualified defensive mind to be the HC and supporting him with an experienced, successful OC. This trend, while less popular, has shown great success in the NFL.
