scottb Posted May 10, 2003 Share Posted May 10, 2003 Damn...as an oldtimer I know the answers to a few of them. BUT as a senile oldtimer, there's a bunch more answers I've forgotten. I thought Baugh was the only officially retired number...there's 6 more? I'm surprised they didn't mention our trade of Norm Snead to Philly for Sonny, Charlie Gogolack (sp), the 72-41 Giant's game, or the 73-0 title game. rtandler Posted May 10, 2003 Share Posted May 10, 2003 Without looking it up (and I freely admit to doing so on occasion when posting here), I'm sure I know the answer to the following 3 (Herb Mul-Key), 6, (Pottios, Pardee, Baughn), 8 (Otis Sistrunk, John Matuzak), 9 (Mike Connell), 10 (Timmy Smith), 11 (Marlin McKeever), 12 (Sam Huff), 15 (Sammy Baugh), 17 (Bill Brundidge), 18 (LeRoy Jackson), 22 (George Allen), 23 (all undrafted free agents), 26 (Boston Braves), 27 (Led NFL in passing, punting and interceptions), 28 (Gary Beban, George Rogers, Desmond Howard, Danny Wuerffel), 30 (that's just wrong; we know from recent events that only one Redskins has had his jersey retired, Sammy Baugh), 31 (Claude Crabb) I'm pretty sure about a few more, but still that's 50% for a guy who has no life other than reading and writing about such things, so that's a damn hard quiz.
