The Giants of early 2007 looked as bad as we do now.

For the chicken littles.

Lets Remember this time last year.... the Giants week 1 lost 45-35 in Dallas, with their defense looking awful, giving up nearly 500 yards.

Week 2 they were embarassed in a lifeless 35-13 loss to the Packers at home.

Week 3 they were getting dominated by us on the road before things clicked, and they were able to turn things around at halftime, and the rest is history.

And they did not even have the coaching turnover or a new offensive to implement like we do now.

The NFL is a long season... and many things can happen. If we can manage to stay healthy for once, anything is possible.

We lost by 9 in the champs house on the night they celebrated their super bowl. Its forgivable. Sure we looked awful for 25 minutes, but after that point we outscored them 7-0. Was it a turnaround? Probably not to the same degree... but its a sign of life.

Let's not forget Joe Gibbs started off 0-5 in 1981... and went on to win the Super Bowl next year.

We have a new coach, new system, a team full of young players, and last night we were still missing some players. As the Snyder era has shown, trying to win with a quick fix and a quick buck has not worked, so we have turned in the correct direction by trying to build through the draft. We can't fix EVERYTHING at once (O and D line), but the draft is the right way to go.

This team is going to take some time to develop. Zorn will take a while before we can determine if he is an NFL coach or not. We are likely not going to be Super Bowl champs this year, and theres a good chance we may not make the playoffs given our brutal division. But we are trying to build for the long haul, which is a step in the right direction. Patience is necessary.

I mentioned this on another thread. Last year was a gloomy outlook for them even before the season started. It hit rock bottom up untill they pulled a win against our 'Skins.

But at least hey hung up 35 points against Dallas. We could barely get 7. To be fair, we are in transition and not nerely poised to take on the season as they did, but its important to point out because the season is long and not over. If we can still finish at least 7-9. It won't be a bad season IMHO.

Exactly my point.... that their defense, which became their identity and the reason they won the Super Bowl last year, was so awful to start the year... whats to say it couldnt be the same with our offense? I believe our defense will be ok, as long as we're healthy.
