AllBusiness
forget the individual records.Riggins, Monk and Green all broke records here in Washington but they are remembered most for being part of teams that won it all. It's great that Portis and Moss hold the single season team records for yardage. But realistically, NEITHER player right now is a candidate for the 70 year team. One playoff victory isn't enough to boost the candidacy of these players. They need to do more. Um, Moss AND Brunell get at least honorable mentions solely for the "Monday Night Miracle" though! HAIL!
AllBusiness
That Ganther fella is impressive as well. I love Clinton. I got a shirt with him on it even. But we could realistically get two decent O-Linemen for him right now.
honejc
That's a hell of an expensive #2 back. Tough to justify keeping him, especially when we can cut him with no salary cap damage this offseason. that is true, however if we do end up keeping him, he will be demoted to #2 i feel, since his attitude and work ethic are zilch compared to those of cartwright and the younger RBs. he may start as #1 but since we are turning more towards a committee of RBs i feel portis will start yappin and be put as #2, that isnt to say he wont see a moajority of carries. he has lost that initial explosiveness that we have seen in ganther, rock and mason (not to say that he wont get it back)
SirClintonPortis
He's dead meat. 2100+ carries equals the beginning of the end for a RB, and he sure has shown that he's starting to lose it.
Jofizz
Sorry but Ganther will own this record by the end of the season.
redskin faithful
In my opinion, if we add some much needed o-lineman to our roster and if Portis stays healthy; he pass it.
Monkfan63
to measure up to Riggins, though, he has to lead this team to the Super Bowl. +1. I don't care if he surpasses Riggo - unless he leads the team to a SB he can't measure up to Riggo.
Oldfan
Sorry but unless he takes a drastic pay cut, he won't be back next season. Vet minimum + incentives:D
